Service isn't what I'd call helpful - make sure you get the EXACT model number you ask for before leaving the store.

Prices may be good, but what grates is the wrong information they provide and the very poor service they "provide". I'm never going back.

This is the second time I've taken my custom PC into Memory Express on Broadway. (The first time…read morewas several years ago when they rebuilt my system after the water cooling system failed. They did a super job). This time I needed to have my system upgraded to Windows 11 and upgrade the hard drive. My computer was ready the next day and cost considerably less than I expected. Young Shintaro at the customer service desk was very helpful and made a number of recommendations to improve the upgrade. I'm an old lady and sometimes get 'attitude' at technical service desks but there was none of that here. Excellent customer service and highly recommended. Good job ME!

But Memory Express Langley's manager's behavior is remarkably rude and unprofessional. I ordered an i7-13700K Processor Bundle with a Gigabyte Z790 GAMING X AX Mobo for $629 during the Thanksgiving sale a few days ago (attached are the pictures as proof). Today, I received a call from the manager, stating that I must pay an additional $200 due to their error. I would have been fine with this adjustment, but at the time of my purchase, there were several similar bundles available at Canada Computers and NewEgg. Unfortunately, I missed out on those deals because I ordered from Memory Express. As a result, I'm left with no other options. Note that this would have been illegal in Quebec under their consumer protection laws. When I tried to explain this situation to the manager, instead of a simple apology, I was met with a barrage of yelling and unprofessional behavior. What should have been resolved with an apology turned into a heated argument with the manager.

After leaving several voicemails with no response, I finally reached someone at the end of June. I was shocked to be told that the technician had taken my personal phone home with them so it wasn't even in the shop. I was told to come back a week later, but when I did, they made me wait a few more days. When I finally got the phone back and paid $400, I went through my photos at home and discovered the technician had actually used my phone's camera to take a photo of someone else's laptop.Within 12 hours, I realized the phone was in worse shape than before. I had paid for a new screen, battery, and camera. While the screen worked, the device was overheating rapidly, the camera wouldn't configure, and the battery health was in the red (worse than when I dropped it off).I was hesitant to let them have it again, but since I paid $400, I dropped it back off hoping for a swift fix. Instead, they dragged their feet again. I left a voicemail in early July and got no callback. I called again today (Tuesday, July 14) and was told it won't be ready until Thursday. They have had my phone for almost 3 months, charged $400 for botched repairs, ignored my calls, and took my private device to their home. The store clerk didn't seem to understand what I was asking for; he kept showing me a wrong cable and insisting that it was the right one (it wasn't -- he doesn't seem to understand the difference between a female USB and a male USB, which is not rocket science, and he also didn't understand the difference between a data transfer cable and OTG). It took me five times explaining to him before he actually listened instead of just patronizing me as if I didn't know what I was asking for. I would not come here again unless 1) I wanted someone to talk to me like I was a toddler or 2) I want to talk to someone who ignores all the words coming out of my mouth and just waits his turn to reiterate the same thing based on the first three words I say. I also would never trust a repair job of any technology I cared about to these people -- based on what I observed of their lack of basic expertise and talk-down-to-you bedside manner, Pacific Repair is an excellent candidate for doing 'half-ass repairs because we think you don't have the expertise to know better'. Better value for new components at NCIX, better value on used parts at Free Geek, and better value & peace of mind for repair jobs at the Hackery.
