They kept me updated about my appointment, right up to the day of the work when they notified me that Robert could come early. That worked fine for me. Robert was at my house as agreed and he looked at my problem, told me what he suggested doing and how much it would cost. It was very reasonable and I agreed on the spot. After getting needed supplies he had it fixed in no time and I have my lovely piece of furniture in working order again! Robert is a terrific person, friendly and professional. He is local and has other clients in my condo project. A real find! I will definitely be calling Handyman Today when I need work done professionally and reasonably. Can't say enough good things!!

I started calling on them to do basic handyman stuff my husband can't figure out. Real basic things that I'm a little embarrassed we couldn't get done ourselves. No complaints. They come out and take care of whatever may need fixed. Next we needed to fix work that was done by another contractor that I'd never recommend. Not only did they correct everything, they knew people that were experts in areas they would rather not handle. Absolutely no complaints with any of the subs they had come in to do work! They totally reconfigured our guest bath. The place is haunted! They have been out so many times to try and figure out why the bath drips water. Everytime I call they are here to fix it. They are super busy, but if it's a serious problem they drop everything and come running. Water problem is not due to their work, but what originated with the house. Finally they totally cleaned up, repaired, fixed, updated, improved my rental! They did so much more then I thought I needed! Not in a bad way, but in the kindest most observant way possible. I didn't know how bad it really was. They see things that aren't right and fix them! I feel so loved and cared for. The place is spotless and will make the new renters feel so at home! Call them! I promise you will not regret having them do anything from change a light bulb to build your home!!!

Jim has never been a licensed contractor from my understanding. Jason (son) is probably the licensed one and may be fine to work with directly. Jim boasts being the best in the county. You'll likely hear that if you call. Jim's temperament runs hot & cold. Jim broke my toilet. Fortunately he admitted his mistake & didn't charge me to replace toilet. It took multiple trips to get the correct materials for the toilet replacement. This week we rejected Jim's subcontractors quote for HVAC job as we found someone else we preferred and we have a home warranty for service. Jim became volatile & hostile with me over the phone and by text after I hung up on him for yelling at me inappropriately. Extremely unprofessional. Son Jason didn't follow up with separate estimate and that may be miscommunication with Jim, however Jason was here months ago and looked at what we wanted done but didn't take any notes measurements etc, so I'm not sure how things fell through. Jason was friendly. I have no direct experience with his actual construction work other than lack of follow through with estimate. I don't like to post unfavorable reviews and this may be the only one.

I ordered a hand made one of a kind table which was shipped from Michigan to California via UPS. Despite the fact that the table was packaged as if it were glass, complete with a custom made wooden crate inside of the cardboard box, the table arrived nearly destroyed with one whole side and two legs completely torn off the rest of the desk. This stroke of bad luck changed immediately. Larry was prompt to reply to my online inquiry and showed up the same evening to fix the table. Larry fixed the table to like new condition. You cannot tell it was nearly destroyed unless you turn it upside down to notice a very slight imperfection. Best of all, Larry communicates with you. If he's running behind for any reason he's prompt to call or text. He is also punctual. And reliable. Communication, reliability, and punctuality are very important to me. Larry hits the mark on everything. Very friendly also, after some brief banter I found out he had fixed a door jamb that someone kicked in earlier in the day, and after he fixed my table he was going to replace an exterior drain pipe with tree roots inside of it. And if you hire a plumber to do the work, which DOES involve some plumbing, then it costs way more. I resigned myself to the search and literally just contacted the most popular handyman service in my town based on Yelp reviews. Guess what? thank goodness I did! 805's Handyman (NOT to be confused with "805 Handyman") responded right away--even though it was a Sunday and the World Cup games were on. I uploaded pics, sent in the details, got an estimate, and made an appointment. On the day of, a nice truck drove up with the logo painted proudly on the side (not a guy in a fancy sports car, like handyman #9). Two sturdy guys came in and got down to business right away--no fuss, all smiles, and dare I say it? Like they loved what they do. (Unlike handyman #7 who was a former engineer and complained the whole time, even refusing to do some tasks!) Long story shorter, the bathroom vanity switcheroo turned out to be bigger and messier project than expected. It ended up involving some retiling, grouting, electrical adjustments, alterations to trim, painting--and the plumbing bits and installation and removal. The workers were quiet, helpful, communicated the whole time and were just generally old-school excellent (unlike handyman #4, who was nice, but got everything crooked and a bit wonky, bless his heart). The 805's Handyman workers did ALL the plumbing/installing/electrical/tile work/painting--the whole shebang. And the end result is a sweet transformation for our upstairs bath (I also asked them to take care of a few more items on my to-do list, which they did quickly and again, with smiles). The whole thing was very gratifying. So much so, that the next time something in our house needs fixing, I will actually look forward to hiring 805's Handyman again. We're lucky to have them in the Ventura area and they are popular on Yelp for very good reasons.
