Brett came today and replaced our washing Machine electrical plug. Brett rewired our 1928 home in 2002 and we have had no problems at all. It turned out that it is was a problem with the washing machine's door and not the electrical plug. Always nice to see Brett Eastman. Very personable and reasonable rates. Incidently, I recommended Eastman Electric to Eric Andrist when Mr. Andrist bought the Levy House in Oxnard. Brett came out in summer 2021 and diagnosed our unusual grounding error for the backyard electrical system. It took him about an hour of honest investigation because the builders opted to take some unusual routes. Brett was able to piece together the puzzle and taught us about the unusual intricacies of our house in addition to fixing the problem for a affordable price. Just recently had a new issue, and I called Brett. The problem actually resolved a few minutes before he called me back, and he was happy to talk it through with me and explain the cause/diagnosis of each issue with proposed fixes. Brett installed a new electrical panel for our 58 year old home in prep for renovation and solar. He also cleaned up alot of sketchy electrical wiring in the garage, installed a new plug for the electric dryer and installed new LED garage lights. Brett came highly recommended by a neighbor on the Nextdoor website. She said that he had rewired her whole house that had old knob and tube wiring. We just bought a 5000 square foot house with knob and tube and want to get it all replaced. I thought that would be an appealing job for an electrician as it's a lot of work. I first sent Brett a message via his website. No reply. Then I sent a message via his email from his website. No reply. So I called him just now and he was apathetic and a little rude quite frankly. He said he doesn't do whole house rewiring, which I know isn't true since the person that recommended him said he redid her whole house! When I mentioned that, he seemed flummoxed at being caught. Brett is incredible. He will work with your skill level (or lack of!) and save you money if you want to do some work yourself. I had a tricky time diagnosing some issues with a circuit in our house. I had replaced outlets thinking those were the cause, but no love. I called Brett and he came out that day. We went through the most common causes and issues, and I learned a lot every step of the way. Turns out I had nicked a wire with a nail through a stud. Fixed and now we're golden! If I could give more than five stars I would! I called Brett in a near-panic after hours on a Friday evening, very close to Christmas to potentially compound our household electrical issue. Not only did he calmly listen to my issues and concerns, but he mentioned that he could be expected within 30 minutes; he arrived in 28 minutes. Not only did Brett take his time to garner the scope of the issues (about 10 20-amp outlets and four 15-amp lighting circuits), but I never felt like I was wasting his time. Ultimately he quickly diagnosed the issue from our recently-installed solar sub-breaker panels and voila!, the problem was immediately fixed. $95 very well spent, especially after hours. Ken gave me a quote for a number of electrical issues, with the biggest item being upgrading my old can lights to the new LED lights. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out two choices of actual lights as well as informing me that my current dimmer switches would not be appropriate for the new lights. Do not use Bret from Eastman Electric. I needed a vanity light installed because my husband could not get the bracket lined up. Bret came and I explained the issue to him. He said he could take care of it for $100. He installed the light and after I paid him I noticed that it was not aligned properly and not flush on the wall. He told me that I could paint over the blue wall box. This is so unprofessional. I left a message telling him my husband was very unhappy with his work. Eastman should be your first call for electrician services because it's the only one you'll have to make. I had an emergency in the middle of the night with a repetitive pinging every minute that I couldn't locate the source of. I spent an hour and a half of going through phone trees trying to reach other electricians unsuccessfully. The few I did reach offered a range of potential problems that they could only fix with visit (which of course they couldn't do until the morning). Then I called Eastman and got a response within two rings. Brett calmly talked me through the diagnosis of the problem and once we found the issue, walked me through the solution. Within 10 minutes he helped me easily resolve the problem and shared steps I could take to prevent it from reoccurring in the future. Brett cared more about helping me than trying to squeeze out an after-hours emergency service call to make a buck. I needed a 50amp circuit run for a jacuzzi and there was no space in my electric box. I received 4 other quotes, 2 of which indicated I needed a whole new box (over $5k). Brett's bid was comparative to the other 2, but I liked his approach the best and he guaranteed it would be done to code. He pointed out how the jacuzzi was not originally hooked up correctly (the jacuzzi was moved from a prior location - the wiring to the jacuzzi pump was not to code and was not waterproof). He redid what was incorrect and did a fantastic job, aesthetically pleasing (per my wife's standards). He was fast (1.5 days to complete), prompt, explained in advance how the job would be completed, was open to suggestions.... its great to know I have an honest electrician, local to Camarillo, that I can trust and can go to for any future project. One last thing- because the work was completed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Brett showed up for the estimate and work wearing a face mask and gloves the entire time. Only 1 of the other electricians I got estimates from wore a mask and gloves during the assessment. That was very much appreciated by my wife and I.
