I was never paid for participating in a survey, I am led to believe that this company is a scam. It was a 2-hour research study with this company and was told I would be paid $175. Despite multiple emails and being told a check would be mailed to me twice, I did not receive any payment for over a month. I was later promised same-day payment via Zelle by the owner, Kim Atkins, but that also never arrived. Communication was slow and inconsistent throughout this process, and I ultimately never received the compensation I was promised. I have participated with other research companies (such as Nichols Research) that pay under a week via digital gift cards, so this experience was very disappointing. Having applied to over a dozen "projects" I spent 10-20 min entering demographic and personal opinion based answers each time to a survey monkey questioner. No projects, no calls just wasted time as they farm your information. Sorry I can't recommend. But this place stinks. read more

Thanks to my marketing background and a friend who reminded me about this service, I sought out the Atkins Research Group for some potential side-money action. I've been happily and proudly self-employed for several years now which afforded me the opportunity to set my own schedule and explore other experiences and revenue streams. Would this service be worth my effort and time to speak my mind for some real moolah!? EXPERIENCE Generally speaking, it was all hands off. Once you signed-up for their service online, you received emails about upcoming focus groups. Once you determined whether or not you were available on the given date, then if the topic at hand held your interest, you went through a battery of questions that vetted out participants. Once you completed the questionnaire, you still had to wait a day or two for a confirmation email if you were a chosen one (notifications weren't sent out if you weren't chosen). Various emails followed with details that led up to the event date. On the date of the project, each focus group usually lasted about two hours and consisted of ten to twelve participants (like a jury). Be prepared to speak freely and openly. SERVICE Your primary Contact/Recruiter/Project Manager, Tom, was very good communicating via emails, phone calls, and text messages as he kept you updated on things (sadly, I never personally met Tom). Once you arrived at the location, you were greeted by a couple people at the check-in desk who confirmed your assignment (ID required), and then asked that you took a seat in the waiting room (refreshments were provided) with fellow focus group members until called upon. Then, your given group was gathered and led to a separate room where the nearly two-hour assignment took place led by a separate moderator. Otherwise, although they had a private parking garage but didn't allocate any spaces for participants, there were plenty of metered and timed street parking along the main drag of Wilshire Blvd. and all surrounding streets (please carefully read all posted signs). ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Located in a 13-story brown high-rise building on the corner of Wilshire Blvd. and Highland Ave.", it wasn't that difficult to miss. Once inside, it reminded me like any multi-purpose office building but with a more relaxed feel since I thought they had 70s-style wood paneled walls all about the Ground Level of the building where it seemed all their business was handled. There were plenty of seats both in the waiting and focus group rooms, respectively. Minimal natural lighting came through the front glass doors (main entrance only) while high-wattage electric ceiling lights filled in the rest as well as in the focus group room. There was a TV in the waiting room but no background music whatsoever. ATTIRE Business casual, so I would normally be in a buttoned-up dress shirt, pants, and shoes. OVERALL Having been on the other side (I've always been on the client side) of a focus group for Atkins Research Group for the first time was rather fun and would definitely do it again as long as I qualified for a given project. Honestly, it was easy money if you had the time, and you actually provided a wealth of information for the clients. My only recommendation was that they informed you quicker whether or not you qualified. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $0.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip; instead...YOU GOT PAID!). The two older ladies that work here are incredibly rude to most of the guests, and then preferential to their friends. One of them often has a small child with her. While most of the Atkins employees are professional, fair, and lovely to work with, these two ladies are a very poor reflection of the company. I had registered my email once on their website maybe some months ago? and within the last two weeks i got two phone calls and an email regarding my focus group and pay rate. for two hours $150. i thought this was a scam. i did google the building/ company and it seemed legit. when i pulled up to the building i was at ease bc it was on a VERY BUSY intersection, shared with h&r block, a gym, AND the field offices of an LA board of supervisor. staff was nice. group was great. i would definitely do it again!! read more

I participated in a focus group last night and was really impressed by Atkins Research Global. The staff was professional and courteous. Their service was excellent and they treat the participants really well, offering refreshments. The waiting area and office is clean and comfortable. They are timely and prompt. The actual focus group session went by really fast and we were done before we knew it. The best thing is they pay you on the same day when you are done. If you're looking for a fun and easy way to make some money for doing things that you normally do then Atkins Research Global is for you! Essentially what Atkins does is they get paid to hold focus groups on different products. The products range from baby and toddler food and products, to electronic devices, clothing, television and movies, and a plethora of other categories. They play middleman for large companies and corporations looking to understand consumers in their behaviors towards certain products. You signed up and at Atkins' database and if your demographic qualifies they'll call you to screen. If you still qualify then they will schedule you for the focus group. I've learned that generally speaking focus groups pay anywhere from $100-$300 cash for 1-3 hours of your time. It's an easy and convenient way to make quick cash illegal way. The staff here is very friendly and anytime you're here for a focus group there is always some type of candy, snacks, sometimes sandwiches and pizza, and drinks and beverages like soda and water.
