Unlike other (e.g. 12 step) approaches to recovery that teach the individual to view themselves as an addict, the curriculum that Reed and team have put together focus on the underlying processes and mechanics that are at the root of all addictions. A surprisingly little amount of time is actually spent talking about addiction directly, because the program is more broad and provides clients with a holistic new way of being in the world. Recovery from addiction is a natural secondary effect from this learning, but clients can expect to see meaningful improvements in nearly every aspect of their lives on their path to a life of greater peace and ease. The curriculum draws from numerous sources and is not dogmatic or limited by orthodoxy. Meditation, mindfulness, and a better understanding of one's true "self" stand out as cornerstones of the approach at Centered. I recommend Centered, without caveat, to anyone struggling with addiction, behavioral challenges, or mental health issues.

While they were asking questions pertinent to my clinical needs, it was incredibly embarrassing since they were whispering amongst each other. I asked several times to just meet with Dr. Antin because of my discomfort. I was honest about it. Eventually he came in and told me that if I wanted him to do my intake that I should come on the weekend when he sees clients who pay cash. He said that insurance doesn't pay enough for him to be able to do intakes on each patient. Rationally, I understand it. It's a business. In the moment, his inappropriate candor was deeply disheartening during a really dangerous and difficult time. I would never recommend him, and have encouraged others to choose someone else.

Our email exchanges continued on Friday and in Saturday. You just don't find a doctor nowadays who responds and really cares like Dr Antin. He said just the right words to help me and I feel he was genuine in what he said. I followed up with a visit with him on Thursday and his concern carried over in that visit. He took the time to listen and answer my questions. He is the most caring doctor I have ever seen. And again I highly recommend him!

Can smoke which cause cancer more than any other killing disease, but cant use smokeless tobacco!! Why? Peoples sleeping with each other "so ovivious". Never met a counselor in my 1st 5 days!!! Employees at this place don't uphold anyone accountable unless it suits them. 1st day I meant people glouting about how cool it is to be there 3rd or 4th recovery "life time ambition". They wanted us to follow there rules, but never enforced the ones they posted on admission. For Me personally, I have never witnessed an absolute disaster from day 1. The director was never at the facility, but loved to scold me when I wanted to leave. I had to leave with none of my possessions or they would call the police and have me arrested."ive never been arrested". So I left, tried to come back and retrieve my property and was told I would be arrested if I stepped onto there property. I slept in the woods for a few hours fearing I would be arrested. I walked 4 miles until I found a waffle house, reminder I had sweatpants on and flip flops. The very kind waffle house workers allowed me to use the phone to call my wife. I walked back to the bullshit facility to be met by an asshole name Dominick. P.O.S he said if i come on this property to retrieve my belongings I would be arrested. Wtf. I turned around and walked 4 miles back to the waffle house and ask these kind gentlemen if I could use the phone again. My wife told me the same thing. After a few moments 3 cherokee police officers showed up and were very polite. They ask me how I was doing, I just said I want my belongings. I apologize for not get there names. The 3 officers were by far the most professional people I've met. They then drove me back to the fraternity/recovery place to get my belongings. They brought me back to the waffle house were I waited an hour for my wife to pick me up. PLEASE WHAT EVER YOU Do NEVER send your love one to this facility!!! My rating is negative 10. The case managers and the educational staff were amazing, caring people who helped me with coping tools, creating boundaries, things to do to keep depression and anxiety away, etc. I went to the day programs for about 6 weeks, and I've been active in their support groups and volunteering ever since. Going back to Ridgeview campus is a great feeling for me; I have met the most amazing support network there in the 12-step groups. Definitely helped me cope with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and more.

Most of the staff were rude and the very few that did care were overworked. Ridgeview made everything worse and I had to nurse my wife back to health upon release. Due to one of the 3 attacks she experienced, we are now drowning in hospital bills and had to replace dentures (6 grand). Taking her to Ridgeview was one of the worst mistakes ever. Back in February, my wife went here due to mania/hypomania caused by a new antidepressant her psychiatrist gave her. On her first day, she was attacked (the first time out of 3) and taken to the ER. During the attack (punched in the face), she was knocked out, and her brand new implant dentures were knocked out. She was attacked at 11am and they got her to the hospital so late, she had to stay the night. I thought it would be going on their insurance but we started receiving bills a month later. The staff member who called me to tell me about the attack was completely rude. When I asked what happened she screamed at me, saying "I just told you, she was attacked!!" I asked her "how did it transpire" and she then got frustrated not knowing what the word "transpire" means. I was then told when she gets back from the hospital they're gonna move her out of that unit, the ICU. She got back the next day and they didn't move her and she got attacked again (punched in the face repeatedly by another patient, yet again) . While she was at the hospital. I got a call from the nurse practitioner for the psychiatrist there. He told me they had no record of my wife's medications. I told him to contact her psychiatrist, made sure he had the number, and then spent the next week telling anybody who would listen to contact her psychiatrist. No one ever did. After 7-10 days, I was wondering why she wasn't getting better. While there, she was getting noticeably worse. Once released, I found out that they were not only giving her the medication that she had the reaction to but had upped it five times the amount she was taking before going there. On top of that, they were also giving her a very large dose of Depakote. That was to sedating her so much, she was falling asleep in chairs. That med was only hiding the mania. When I looked up the medicine it said do not take if you have "liver or pancreas issues." I was appalled they were giving her that since my wife has had pancreatitis multiple times in the past 10 years and they were all well aware of that. It could've killed her. She was released on a Monday and they told us she had an appointment with her psychiatrist, the next Monday at 1:30. After a few days, I called the psychiatrist office to see if we could get an emergency visit because of the worries with the medicines. That's when I learned there wasn't an appointment even made. Whichever Ridgeview employee wrote down the date and time for the appointment completely made it up. Now, just like when she was there, I can not get in touch with anyone. We have all these hospital bills from them not keeping her safe. I have contacted the patient advocate multiple times and wrote an email but have not heard anything back. From reading the newer reviews, she probably has her hands full. The incompetence with this place was so over the top, I'm shocked it is open. Needs to be shut down. A person looking for help, shouldn't be coming out mentally, physically, and financially worse.

It is very expensive; everyone I know who went there paid cash as it was not covered by insurance. The treatment milieu is excellent with superb instruction in the dise;ase model and direct experience dealing with and living with other recovering alcoholics. It is a program with spiritual, physical, and mental health components. Many persons who suffer with dependency have separate diagnosis which require special treatment. I know of many physicians in my area who are "graduates" who are practicing with many years of sobriety. Treatment used to be 5-6 months, but the time has decreased with improvement of their model. For a professional who can afford it, there is no better place for addiction treatment. Please note that the negative reviews here are from persons who do not understand the treatment process. One person said he was never asked why he had a drinking problem: All patients with dependency have a strong genetic predisposition-people abuse substances because they have a disease. Only 300 persons dying compared to thousands who obtain sobriety is an amazing statistic. The majority of persons who attend a treatment facility die from the disease. Medical professionals require special evaluations to protect the public. State boards require verification of successful treatment to protect the public. The 72 hour assessment is to determine if the primary diagnosis might be something else. Patients with serious mental illness require separate treatment at a different facility. The amount of substances used has nothing to do with whether one is an addict. Some other professional has already diagnosed the patients before the evaluation: with rare exception. There are some with positive drug screens or false reports that do are not recommended for treatment. There may be the appearance of disorganization, but it is from lack of understanding of the process. Suicide is very common among patients with substance dependency, much higher than the general population. Please do not let the negative reviews distract you. If you can afford the steep price. the program gives the best possible chance of achieving long term sobriety.

I have a loved one who was forced to attend this "treatment" facility because it was required for health care professionals and I have nothing positive to say about Talbott's program or their staff. Although they advertise it's an offers for a customized care plan, Talbott actually groups patients of all backgrounds, conditions, and situations together under some one shoe size fits all program. The problem with that is those who will require further treatment are getting under treated, while there are those like my family member who are there for a minor infraction getting treated as if they are in some psych ward. Their low therapist to patient ratio is horrendous, which makes you question if patients are even getting the proper care required. From what I've seen, it doesn't seem as they are equipped to address all disorders, but they still accepted them and mashed them in with the rest, causing intense friction. Talbott also opened doors to others outside of pilots, law enforcements and health care professionals, which seems to have caused tension and disruption within the group. I've seen out and in patient treatments, but Talbott's condition of "outpatient" means patients are confined to a strict schedule with limited phone access, having a buddy system to go anywhere, against the rules to stay in your bedroom alone, not allowed to be outside your apartment to talk on the phone, and limiting time with loved ones to weeks 4 & 8 of the program. I've personally never seen an "outpatient" program with that many restrictions. What also infuriates me is their living conditions. Talbott gets about $10,000 per patient to accommodate living. My family member was essentially confined to a local apartment complex and not only have suite mates, but a roommate. You would imagine with that much funding per patient, living accommodations can be better, especially to provide privacy so patients can talk to their family & friends without being conscious of roommates. Yes, I used the word "confine" because that's the experience I've seen my family member go through. People are here to face their issues and rehabilitate, but part of getting through that is to maintain good connections with their support system back home. The infrastructure Talbott creates, really limits that and along with additional forced social events, really can lead to mental burnout than rehabilitation. If you look at the review, there's a lot of people commenting with the same issues. This is a trend and I agree with those statements. Talbott needs to seriously relook their processes and procedures if they want to build an environment where people can treat themselves without going through unnecessary stress.
