I visited Atlanta Motors on Buford Highway after finding a vehicle online that I was ready to purchase in cash. When I arrived, I began looking at the car, which was unlocked, when someone, possibly the owner or manager, pulled up next to me in a black Range Rover and told me I shouldn't be looking through the cars without checking in first. As someone who has purchased more than 25 cars in my life, I found this response completely off-base. The standard experience at a dealership is that a salesperson greets you when you arrive, not that the customer has to go hunting for someone to help them. If your policy is that customers need to check in before viewing vehicles, then you should lock the cars or clearly post a sign stating that. Otherwise, it's perfectly reasonable to assume unlocked cars on an open lot are available for browsing. This dealership lost a cash sale due to poor customer service. Rather than approaching with a greeting or offering help, the first interaction was a correction. A simple "Welcome, how can I help you?" would've changed everything. Taking car sales to a whole new level of low... I purchased a car from there that I clearly couldn't afford and told the salesman that several times. He kept saying I deserve this, do something for yourself, just do it. Then they manipulated the numbers so it "worked". I wonder how this business can function with such bad customer service. This is like other people described in their reviews a bait and switch dealership. I have been and purchased a truck from ALM Newman and my experience was much better. I've seen cars advertised on Cars,com and CarGurus whenever I called those cars were always unavailable, but I had other people called on my behalf and they were told the cars were available and when they asked to pull the cars for a test drive they always agreed and confirmed availability. However, when they get to the dealership and drove miles to get there, all of the sudden the cars were no longer available and they tried to get them in different cars. That is absolutely wrong. I bought a Chevy High Country Truck that was advertised and confirmed by the salesman to have a 6.2 engine in it and when i drove it the air was not cold. they told me it was low on Freon and need a charge. so I bought the truck to only have the compressor blow out a month later an the repiar shop said it had been leaking for some time. to cap thing off the truck was a 5.3 instead of the 6.2 I was told it had. My boyfriend and I went in today to look at a car. Called ahead asked a few questions before we drove to the location. Our questions were answered on the phone so we drove over to the dealership. We asked to test drive the specific car we had called about. We were told no not unless we fill out an application first. Neither of us have ever been asked to do a application before a test drive but we went ahead anyway. Once that was complete we asked again to test drive. The owner sent his son out with the keys to let us look at the car. The car itself was nice but needed some work. The windshield was cracked, tint on the windows was peeling, a belt needed to be replaced, the radio didn't ever work, etc. We asked again if we could actually test drive it now. Finally, they said ok. We took it for a drive it was nice but again noticed some more work that hadn't been done prior to ALM trying to sell it. From what we could see the car hadn't even been cleaned. So we arrived back at the dealership. I asked for the car fax on the car. I was met with more hesitation. At that point I was getting frustrated so I got a little more stern and asked again. The owner then had his son go grab the carfax. I matched the VIN on the car to the carfax and reviewed. The car had been in a accident and several owners. We went back in to the office to sit down with the owner. He tried to tell us the car was PERFECT! We told him the issues on the carfax and all the issues with the car that needed to be fixed. We told him we were not willing to pay the asking price that was already well over blue book value. We gave him a reasonable offer within blue book value. We were met with laughter by the owner. He then said he was not willing to negotiate at all. We both looked at each other and walked away. Some people may have a better experience then my boyfriend and I. These people. Mmm Mmmm Mmmmm.... Let me first say yes I think I did get a pretty decent deal on the truck I purchased and I love it so far. But what I take an issue with is their total lack of ethics. When we bought our truck we had to wait for over an hour to see the finance manager, once in his office he had a large stack of papers to sign. As we began he would present the form and say this is blah blah blah. Upon reading the papers all seemed in order. Well he slipped a couple other things in that he portrayed as mandatory for the financing when in fact after he gave us the actual packet of papers ( they acted like the signature pages were all there was until after we signed ) then all of that went with the signature pages they were totally optional and not to mention cost an extra $1900.00. Yeah who doesn't love just throwing away an extra $1900.00 like yesterday's trash? I mean really? Well longer story short we have yet to hear the outcome of our refund for this BS and have yet to receive the tag for the truck yet either. Temporary tag expired already. After sending a simple web inquiry to ALM, I received 10+ emails from the Internet Sales reps none of which answered my question until I reiterated it several times. I went in to test drive a car and was told by the rep that working there wasn't his only focus, that they expect too much of him, and that there are multiple listings of car inventories of which have different prices. Then I asked to see a car that was in their online inventory and was told that was no longer there...funny thing was, the one that was there was priced $2k higher than the one that had 'sold' which had less mileage and equivalent features. if you are in to the stereotypical used car sales type of games, then this may be the place for you. The worst experience ever!!! I ve been dealing with them since May of this year. I bought a 2015 Mercedes S550. 3 days later the enine light came on. I live an hr away and couldnt get anyone on the phone. when I did I was put on hold multiple times for over an hr. After finally getting someone on the 4th day he assured me that they would take care of it. I only had 5 days to return the car and I was assure that they would fix it and it was minor. They clearly have a system set up to stall customes who have loans funding with complaints. After 2 weeks of trying to get a hold of someone i was told that the ringers were tuned down!! for 2 weeks? what about the people that answered and left me on hold or hung up on me?I finally took it in and was told it needed a tune up. After a week the check engine light came back on. I took it back in i was told it needed a cam posioning censor. The agreed to fix it. A week later while out of town the check engine light came on again. they told me to bring it back in. i asked for paperwork to show what they did to the vehicle and was told that they wouldnt give me papperwork because the dealership was taking care of it. I then said how do i know anything is being done to the vehicle. i have my own diagnostic test done in june and it showed there was a misfire on the 6th cylinder. but they could find the problem i was told. i took it back in august and was told it would be 7000.00 to fix it and i needed to pay half. then 2 weeks later i was told the whole enginge needed to be replace. it would be 40k for a new engine and 20k for a used one. i was then told a week later that they would swap me out and to pick anything from the inventory. they had nothing comparible so here i sit 3 months later. renting one of their cars for 1200 a month on top of my 700 car payment. i finally pick a 750i on Nove 23 rd went to the lot test drove the car. there was a warning light on. i was told by the sales guy that they would check it out. i was then to it was an error code and sometimes that happens and theres nothing wrong with the car. Did all my paperwork went thru the same bank 5/3rd drove off the lot didnt make it to the light when the powertrain light came on. i took it back and was told that they would tak it to bmw to get it checked out first thing mon morning. So mon I got a call saying everything checked out and i was good to go. i pick the car up and had it checked out myself tue morning. The car needs 2 new turbos which would cost 7500.00. the finance manager calls and said to bring the car back that he was going to another bank which i didnt understand at the time because my bank had already approved me. I know the reason now but Ill get to that. I get in and the price of the car had went up 6,000. the gap insurance even though its with the same company that was written up the prior day went from 800 to 2400 the warrentee went from 4200 to 7600. i sat and hagle with the finance manager for hrs stating the car needs 7500.00 worth of work and he just says the warrentee company will cover it. just sign. i refused after doing my research and finding they wont repair pre existing problems. So hes trying to defraud the warrentee company and even suggests i do an insurance job on the car after keeping it for a yr or 2 since ill never be able to get rid of it or trade it in because they are rolling 10k of neg equity from my benz into the new loan. i was told i had to pay the 3500 to help put my benz back together just good enough so they could run it thru the auction to defraud someone else. i paid 3500.00 so now im upside down 17,000.00 on this new deal with benz repair, rental fees and 10k neg equity on the new lemon! i finally ask for the car fax and there it is. its a buy back salvaged title. They never disclosed that. tried to defraud me after all ive been thru. i left the car there and took an uber home but wait it gets better! i became courious if the 1st car i bought was a wrecked salvage as well and bingo. it was totaled and rebuilt. That was never disclosed. now we have big problems. im stuck dealing with them my benz is stuck with the enging and transmission sitting on the ground. now car after 3 months and they knwingly tried to sell me another wrecked salvage. I went to the service department to replace my brakes, which were less than a month old, due to the brakes not being universal. Kia did not have my brakes in stock so they put my old brakes back on and turned my rotors charging me $180.00. I come in the next week to get the correct brakes and I was quoted a price of $650.00 to replace the brakes and rotors -- mind you there was nothing wrong with my rotors initially. I asked for a discount because I was charged $180.00 to put my own brakes back on and was told I could only get a 10% discount. I told them I was not paying that much for their service and was very upset. Upon leaving waking to my car I was venting and the manager threaten to call the police on me after he came to my car and had the never to tell me to stop talking. Who the heck do he think he is? I purchased an Audi Q5 and within 200 miles the 'Needs Service' light came on. When I called to discuss (I called 4 times, never called back), I was kind of floored that management would state: "That's just Audi's way of getting more money from you. If you want, bring it back in and we'll change the oil for you." Um. First, I get that sentiment, and it might even be OK. Why wouldn't you simply act like you went through the motions and reset that feature so that I don't notice that you didn't even do the bare minimum maintenance on the vehicle before you sold it? Second, driving an hour to purchase a vehicle makes way more sense than driving an hour to change the oil (which is what you wanted, so you wouldn't be bothered). So I'm left wondering: what else is wrong with this? First time I vacuumed the car I got three new pens and the cap to a Snapple. So they didn't clean it all that well (and I didn't look underneath the seats), just wiped it down to make it smell clean I guess. There was a minor defect with the passenger seat, pointed out by the salesman, which they offered to fix, but several attempts to schedule that -- each one initiated by me -- never happened. Never got a call back. Minor, but goes to their level of detail and service, in addition to all the other things, I had asked to transfer my license plate (personalized) to the new car. Never happened. Got the standard issue in the mail well past the date I should have received it (so I drove with temp tags longer than allowed). We noticed the oil pressure gauge wasnt working so took to a local mechanic. We are now having to replace the engine. The mechanic said some sort of additive was added to the oil and the oil pump appears to not have been working for some time. I've had this truck for 3 weeks. When we arrived we were greeted by Dave Bautista which promptly showed us the vehicle we were interested in. We negotiated a deal and drove home in our Q7. What I really like about Dave is the level of customer service during and after the purchase of the vehicle. He gave out his personal cell number and kept in touch days after the purchase to ensure we were satisfied. That to me speaks a million words in this day and age where customer service is non existent. In addition the sr. Sales Manager, Shaun made sure that any defects we discovered on the vehicle would be tended to. Everything was given to us in writing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE - My daughter and I visited the Union City location. The salesman, Steven Friday, asked if we needed financing before I even identified what vehicles we were interested in, I gave him a simple no. There was no need for me to divulge that it would be an all cash sale when we had not even identified if they had inventory that we were interested in purchasing. We chose five vehicles that we were interested in viewing, he steps away to get keys. After waiting about 30 minutes he returns to inform us that one of the vehicles had been sold, two of them were in their shop being painted, he could not locate keys for one, but he did locate keys another vehicle. We went ahead and chose three more vehicles to view. As Mr. Friday was going to locate keys for those vehicles he stated that we could look at the one vehicle that he had located. The vehicle he had for us to look at outside was disgusting, it not only still had the previous owners trash inside the car, it had a huge scratch and dent down the side of the car. My daughter and I waited another 20 minutes or so only for him to walk past us and say he could not locate keys for any of the vehicles I had requested. Not even 6 months after purchasing the car, the entire computer system died and had to be towed to a different dealership and replaced. The roof leaks & the interior of my car displays blatant water damage. A mechanic said that the runners on the roof were never screwed into place, leaving gaping holes when the runner is lifted up. Asked them specifically not to run my credit because I was using a third party to finance who had already approved me for a certain amount, under certain stips, depending on the vehicle. Got an alert yesterday that they had when michael told me that they were only using the form as reference to search for the app and to speak with the party distributing the loan because they "had a relationship" I was only a few thousand away. They were only supposed to use the form to check the price of the vehicle, or ask the lender for more (I was already approved for a certain amount). I had my own financing. My daughter goes back in May of 2014 to buy a car and the financial guy pulls my January file to obtain my private information to run 9, YES NINE, unauthorized illegal hard pulls on my credit in hopes I will cosign on my daughter's loan.I wasn't with my daughter, he never called me or tried to obtain my permission to run those hard pulls of my credit. This of course has damaged my credit. I have been trying for one year to get ALM to get those illegal inquiries removed. (I disputed them with the credit bureau who contact the credit companies where the inquiries were made and the credit companies say ALM has to contact them to say the inquiries were made in error.) Bought 2 yr old Acura TLX with 16 k miles( I hope) Car has been fine but when got first oil change and car on rack , noticed a lot of rust.Being from south , was not to familiar with salt rust and snow type rust. Rust in early stages so I can probably remedy , but they know what they sold . I hate writing reviews because I know how they can negatively affect business. I am compelled to write this because I was made to feel unimportant because I wouldn't confirm that I was ready to sign a contract that day. Too bad I can't choose ZERO stars. I was there this past weekend looking at a vehicle I saw online. I did an online chat to see if it was still available and the gentleman who helped me was very nice. We set up and appointment for the next morning. Well, he messaged me stating that something came up and he would be unable to make the meeting, but had passed all of the information to the floor manager, Chris, and he would take care of us. I get it, life happens, no problem. I went in and asked to the floor manager, Chris, and we were seated at his desk. I won't even go into detail on how the showroom looked. Yes the Maserati was very pretty, but everything else looked cheap and worn. There is a difference between dated (old) and dirty. This was dirty. You should probably not leave a ziploc bag of trail mix on the window ledge of your office. The leak in the ceiling was understandable as it was raining, but the sales board showing some sort of statistic for each sales person is not something I want to see as a customer, it makes me feel like a walking dollar sign. We were early and I suppose he had gone for some lunch. Another sales guy ended up helping us and we did the test drive with him. First of all, the shift knob was missing. He stated that they removed it because people liked to steal them. They removed a $20 knob but left the $250 SD nav card in?! So I had a test drive where I had to use just the metal post where the knob would be. Weird, but whatever. The car was dirty. There was animal fur stuck in the seat and in the crevices of the center console along with what appeared to be crumbs. When we got back he led us over to his desk. He asked us what we thought. I asked about warranties. He brought out two brochures and explained to us what they covered. We asked about cost of warranties. Somewhere in our conversation he asked us when we were looking to purchase. I stated that it could be today or 3 months from now. I wasn't in a hurry I just wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. He went over to his finance guy and came back stating that it would take him a few minutes to get the cost of warranties as another couple went into the office. He asked again if we were ready to start the process today. The sales person ended up saying that he would get back in touch with us about the cost of warranties so we didn't have to just sit there waiting. I saw the floor manager sitting at his desk. He didn't even bother coming over to say hello or that another sales guy would be handling our transaction. I guess they could not be bothered with us because I wasn't ready to sign on the bottom line until I had my questions answered. Well it's 2 days later and still no information or follow up call. Nothing. I know I said I wasn't in a hurry, but just so you know, I bought my new car yesterday and not from ALM. This was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. The salesman told me the car was in perfect shape, but the car was missing buttons, the sunroof did not work, the hood was dented, the tires were cracked, and the car was filthy. The pictures posted online specifically avoided showing these defects. The sale an said he had been driving the car for weeks (in the summer) but when we tried to turn the AC on (advertised as "ice cold") it did not work. read more

RUN AWAY! They sold us a hybrid vehicle that had a lot of issues with a "full warranty" not even a year later the whole hybrid system messes up and the warranty company doesn't cover hybrid vehicles period. So we go and trade it in. The dealership acts like they're doing us a huge favor when really they're just covering their tails. And of course making money at the same time! They say they are getting a refund for our warranty we paid $4k for and the night we trade in we witness the phone call Fred George the finance manager makes to the warranty people to find out just how much they will get back "minus the $700 they made off selling us the warranty" we make the deal finance through someone else it's all done. A month later my husband starts receiving Text messages from Mr. George saying they didn't get the full refund from the warranty that we still owe them money. He texts constantly then sends a text saying his boss took it out of his check. Then had someone saying they're a lawyer call my husband and his employer! And now is constantly texting him about this money even though he supposedly had it taken out of his pay because it's his screwup! This place is a scam artists playground! The paper work says it was to come from the warranty company then it should come from the warranty company it's illegal for them to ask for more money! Don't let them fool you! They scammed us already with the warranty we will not be scammed again! Save yourself the headache!! Find yourself somewhere that's not going to put you through this! I bought a vehicle from them with a warranty. Apparently my vehicle was not eligible for warranty and the thousands of dollars I spent was sent back to the dealer, with no notice to me. BUYER BEWARE!!! This dealership has excellent inventory and prices, but they lied to me about the features my BMW had. Specifically, the salesman Adam Cooper was dishonest about it having BlueTooth connectivity. Additionally, incorrect tires were put on the car, giving it problems with driving and issues with safety. In trying to resolve the issue, I spoke with Cade Ekes in management and Ronnie in service. Not only did they refuse to take care of the problem, but they were very rude in the process, which is simply unnecessary. BEWARE! This is NOT affiliated with ALM. Maybe where this guy came from, having running water & electricity is considered "Luxury", but this place is a hole in the wall dump!! They piggy-back off of the name to get business! This guy at first just looked at us- WE had to initiate the conversation, and he did not reply. Then we asked if we could test drive a Jeep that was there. THE VERY FIRST WORDS OUT OF HIS MOUTH WERE "IS THIS GOING TO BE CASH OR FINANCE"? We sort of laughed and said it was a little pre-mature to be asking that, let's see if we even WANT the vehicle! His response was "Well you have to decide & tell me before you can test drive" OMG, what does it matter?! Then he actually admitted that he treats people that pay cash one way and people that finance another!!! REALLY??!! Well, we weren't physically able to test drive because he couldn't even get either of the doors opened to get inside, so obviously the vehicle was a piece of garbage-just like him!
