Brought my vehicle in for service on April 16, 2026. After leaving the dealership, I discovered that the oil cap had been left off during the service, which resulted in oil leaking while driving. I immediately returned and reported the issue. The service team acknowledged the mistake and initially offered partial compensation along with a limited 30-day coverage period for any oil-related engine concerns. I escalated the matter due to concern about potential delayed engine issues and lack of clarity in the initial resolution. After further communication with management, the dealership ultimately provided a revised resolution including $300 compensation along with a refund for the original service. While the situation was resolved and communication throughout was professional, I felt the process required multiple follow-ups and escalation before reaching a satisfactory outcome. read more

Brought my 19987 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 limited ( produced 1 year only and 1 of an estimated 8k left on the road) to Akin for an inspection, an oil change and light bulbs. While in the waiting room I talk to another service writer via text about working on my 1972 Dodge Coronet Crestwood. He told me it would depend on what work needed done. I asked about push rods and an exhaust To which he replied "we do not have accommodations for the vehicle nor specialized techs to work on a vehicle this age" which to an extent is understandable But not needed for push rods. (I was just being lazy and didn't want to do it myself) But... KEEP READING.... They brought me into the shop to look at the jeep, stating they could not do anything with my jeep because of leak residues from power steering pump lines and antifreeze from the bad water pump that I personally replaced the night prior (degree in auto tech, non ASE certified, worked under a master tech with an internship at Bickerstaff Buick Pontiac GMC) Apon arriving at my jeep I notice that my side skirts are being crushed by the 2 post lift arms because the tech didn't use the lifts spacer blocks. (Maybe 19yr old kid). (See pics) I stated that this damage is unacceptable. The service writer then defended the kid, stating that it'll come back out and there would be no damage because the lift was on the Pench Welds (which are NOT LIFT POINTS unless specifically designed that way and these are NOT) Again i stated that this was unacceptable and that if he had done this to a Ford GT or a Viper he would be fired already and this is not acceptable on ANY customers car! I told the kid that I didn't want to take his job but that I also hoped this was a learning experience for him. I went back to the service area and stood watch as the service manager was brought into the situation. They moved my jeep to another lift and used the appropriate lift spacers But now it was noticeably leaning backwards on the lift. I was brought out to the jeep again. I again stated to the service manager that that was unacceptable to Which the manger defended in the same fashion!! I asked if the kid was on an internship and was told "he's a good guy, I'd let him work on my wife's car" When they finally returned my vehicle I notice the skirt at the driver door is still popped out!! now theirs 3 idiots working here!!! apparently they lack anything/anyone specialized!!! 10/10 would NOT recommend going here! read more

So I went and bought a new truck for our son today. And unlike some people, I relish the challenge of getting what I want at a price I am willing to pay. In all, we reached out to five different dealerships in our search. I'm glad we went with Akins Ford. Our sales guy was Frank Sergi. He was very professional and gave me his best price right away. Frank made the buying process unbelievably easy. When I walked in to his office he had all the papers I needed to sign there and ready. He took me out to the truck and walked me through everything and told me my son can call him with any questions that he has. When I went in to meet with the finance guy, he was very straight forward. He told me all the extended warranties and extras that were available but I did not feel any pressure to purchase anything. But he educated me well on what was available. Frank said they had just moved into this new facility. It is huge. While I was waiting to talk to the finance guy, Frank took me over to the refreshment area where there was Starbucks coffee, a soda machine, and even a specialty coffee machine. All free of charge. I was very impressed with the facility and Akins as a whole. They made buying a vehicle a very pleasant and painless experience. And I would highly recommend you ask for Frank Sergi if you are looking for a sales professional that will guide you well and not pressure you. Just ok. Big dealership and not very customer oriented. They will have a car you want, but don't expect the salespersons to make sure you're set up before leaving the lot. My ford pass account could have been activated the day I bought the car if my salesperson, Tanner Bottorff, walked me through the process on July 9. Nope. I just had the car serviced and had to pay out of pocket. Now, I know how to activate my account to use and gain my Ford pass rewards after the fact. Could've been 5 stars if the sales people would have taken care of the little things. One phone call a week after purchasing to make sure the Ford pass account was activated would have made a world of difference. I got plenty of attention before the sale. Also, the windshield cracks extremely easily. There goes $650 more dollars. read more

Got to Akin Ford at 3 pm, left at 5:45 for a scheduled oil change/ tire rotation with additional fluid check. The Gentlemen I was assigned to disappeared after initial check in. While checking out, learned that my oil changes go until 61000 miles and my written contract says 65000. I am gonna look further into this matter. Well, got my car and saw they didn't reset the tire pressure gauge so it went back. It seems that every wheel has an abundance of grease on them along with hand prints on the outside drivers door. I don't know if they are having problems getting staff to clean cars or what but they looked terrible. Every car we saw had either stains or tears in seats, carpets stained, or just smelled terrible. Very unhappy with Service. We are new to the Braselton area and decided to check out Aikens. First, we took our Jeep Grand Cherokee in for an oil change and tire rotation. Two Jeep valve stem caps were missing when I picked it up about 10 days ago. Second took the same vehicle to diagnose a check engine light. Made an appointment and dropped at 9 AM Monday morning. As of 5 PM Tuesday the vehicle was in the que but not diagnosed. Service writer was unable to define when or if it was going to be checked the next day. We picked vehicle up and will schedule alternative service with Hayes or Troncalli. No one in a management role attempted to make this poor experience right and seemed to not care. Clearly we will not be a Aikens customer going forward. Too bad since we have been Jeep owners for nearly 30 years. My recommendation is to stay away and find more customer responsive service. My vehicle cut off on me while driving Friday, January 22nd. The battery and check engine light came on and I could not crank the car back up. My husband pushed it to a shopping center and I had it towed to Akins Ford in Winder (of which I have been a repeat customer for years) to be serviced. The service department at Akins Ford in Winder put me and my family through an extreme inconvenience for over a week due to their lack of care and concern, specifically from service advisor Scott Tackabury. Mr. Tackabury displayed a great amount of unprofessionalism and inadequacy in customer service skills. He also disregarded the COVID-19 pandemic and did not wear a mask during any of our interactions. The completion of repairs on my vehicle was scheduled to be on Wednesday, January 27. Mr. Tackabury informed me that I would be able to return and pick up my vehicle on that evening. Prior to that conversation, he failed to mention that he would be taking that day off, preventing my vehicle from being serviced due to the fact that no other service advisor had information on my vehicle. He also did not inform me that, the part that was ordered for my vehicle's repair had not even been shipped at that point. Because Mr. Tackabury was not working that day, no further details could be conveyed to me on the status of my vehicle or the parts needed to repair it. Akins Ford in Winder dropped the ball on communicating with me, my husband and Scott Tackabury to make sure they stuck to their word on having my repaired vehicle returned to me on the day agreed upon. This could have been avoided ahead of time and remedied during the incident. The following day when Scott returned back to work, I received a text message (from another employee named Norma) informing me that my car was finally ready for pick up. Upon arrival, I was informed that all repairs to my vehicle had been completed and there were no other issues. I cranked up my car and turned on the AC/Heat and the car completely cut off. The battery and check engine light came on again. It was not fixed. Mr. Tackabury informed me that the A/C compressor is bad and in order to allow my vehicle to operate without it, he needed to remove the relay so my car wouldn't turn off once I pressed the AC button. Instead of apologizing for demonstrating a complete oversight of another problem with my vehicle, he said I would need more repairs and would have to come out of pocket to receive another service. He told me the AC Compressor was the only problem with the vehicle at this point. Scott declined assisting me and my husband with immediate services on the vehicle and told us nothing more could be done for us except to buy another part and pay again for more services. Mr. Tackabury refused to reach out to the service Manager Jason Setser or Assistant Service Manager Brandy Hayes, to resolve the issue my husband and I faced at this point. Scott displayed a lackadaisical attitude toward the predicament that we faced and refused to offer any assistance for our extreme inconvenience. The following morning Scott called me and told me there were actually MORE repairs that needed to be made on my vehicle and that it would be another $1,400 to fix everything. At this point I was beyond infuriated with Akins Ford as a company and Scott Tackabury. My husband and I were baffled by his display of an egregious lack of communication, incompetence, negligence and disregard for our tremendous inconvenience despite being loyal customers. read more

Finally!!! It's been almost a full year and today I picked up my Bronco Wildtrack. I have to give credit to Akins Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram out of Winder, Georgia for making it happen!! It was and awesome experience and ready to buy another few from them!! No MSRP markup and great communication throughout the process. All the sales guys were great and very knowledgeable. Ricky McEachin, Clay and especially Kris Wall he helped me out since the beginning but was not allowed to hand it off to me. I forgot the finance guys name but very nice and very knowledgeable. Been using Akins for about 7 years now, what can I say. This is a dealer who is very customer focused and wants to make sure that if you are waiting you are comfortable. Your in small town rural Georgia about 55 miles northeast of Atlanta center, however you have a big city feel in comfort. This dealer has invested in not one but two rooms of comfort. TVs with different channels, two work station areas complete with Wi-Fi and yes they even supply computers if you left yours at home. They have a child's play area too. Another plus if you wait is the full line of inventory always stocked. It is nice to walk around and review the inventory without having a salesperson down your back every inch. Not a hard sell here, Akins only hires long term sales people. Can't wait on your car, well they have a rental location too that I have used multiple times. It is an Enterprise franchise that will give you quick service and a good deal with a new car or truck to fill your needs. One drawback for a few folks is Akins is rather slow. Hey! it's rural Georgia folks. We don't move like New Yawkers down here. But when you think about it, that is a good thing. One of the best in my book that makes you yearn for days gone by when it comes to overall service. read more

Purchased a new 2020 Ford F-250 Diesel December 2020. Paperwork regarding Ford Pass Points (75,000) for purchasing a new truck was not submitted to Ford to get points to my account. Took 3 months after talking to sales employees various times. Began to have transmission issues around June 2021 where I took my truck in for warranty work on August 12th. My truck is still at this dealer and it's August 13th. Service Advisor Josh would nor answer phone nor call back after various voicemails being left. Took 3 days to get a loaner from dealership leaving me unable to work. Dealing with josh regarding my truck, he has been snippy and does not care about customer service. Called service manager and left voicemails with no return call back. No one reaches out for updates on my truck. I Do not recommend getting service at this dealership. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I must warn everyone who does business with this establishment. In 2021 I purchased a brand spanking new Jeep Gladiator from Mall of Georgia Jeep. During the deal, we agreed that the dealership would upgrade the stereo in the vehicle which they did. Almost immediately I began having electrical issues with the vehicle. The brake light on the dash would blink randomly, the air conditioner fan would quit blowing, the reverse light would come on as I was driving, and the transmission would not shift. I returned it to the dealership which I purchased the vehicle from, and they stated the computer didn't reset for some reason but that they had updated the computer and it was good. Some 6 months later same issues so again took it in under warranty. They kept the vehicle for a week and still couldn't determine what the trouble was. I was a little upset with their answer, and they told me to take it to another dealer. When I was able to I took the Vehicle to Adkins Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ford Ram for the issue. Again, I was told by them that the computer needed to be reset and they did that and HOPEFULLY, It cleared up the issue. Now of course all this work was being done while it was under warranty. Flash forward I have the same problem as the last three times, and I brought the vehicle in but now the warranty has expired and wouldn't you know it conveniently were able to determine the source of the problem. So, remember back when I had the radio installed, ya well, these geniuses forgot to remove the Taser interface from the radio after installation, so it has been throwing the computer off this whole time. Now do you think Jeep would honor their product, right? You would if you were as dedicated to the MOPAR brand as I have been throughout my life, but you would be as wrong as I was. Instead, these criminals at Atkins charged me with diagnostic and labor to remove the device that was left behind by another Jeep dealership. WAY TO STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT JEEP!!! I have owned a MOPAR product ever since I was 16 years old, and I am currently 52. As a matter of fact, I drove from Atlanta to Biloxi to buy my wife's Jeep from the same salesman who sold us our first car as a couple 30 years ago as a retirement gift for him. Needless to say, MOPAR has gotten their fair share of my hard-earned money and for this multimillion-dollar dealership to steal it like they did is incomprehensible. I never had an issue with a dealership OR Chrysler however, this is criminal you keep resetting the computer until the warranty runs out and then conveniently are able to determine the issue after the warranty has expired and you can steal my money. Folks I am a retired Navy SEABEE with 5 combat tours. I live and die by three core values HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT. This dealership has none of those values and in fact, is criminal. Places like Akins Ford are the reason I ended up buying a Lexus. I used to go there to get parts for my Cobra - a lot. This review is about the dealership, not the manufacturer, though. Just parking and seeing the salespeople start to converge on you like hyenas converging on the remnants of a zebra corpse was enough to cause a certain sense of dread rise up inside your body. Of course, buying parts was never a hassle. The parts guy acted like he hated me, but he does his job. Seriously, does it kill people at the counters to smile? When I was going to trade-in my old Cobra for either a new GT or a Shelby, it was pretty tough to get help. I eventually test drove a GT and usually the salespeople are fairly knowledgeable about the product and they'll point out some features you may not see and talk about the car. Not my salesperson. He told me his sob story about going from riches to rags and having to sell cars to make ends meet. Tough, right? At least he had a job, which is more than a lot of folks can say right now. This turned me off from the whole thing. He didn't know a thing about the car. He couldn't answer any of my questions. It was actually really depressing. He actually asked if my employer at the time had any openings. I also brought in my old Cobra for a drivetrain problem diagnosis. I was given a quote for the diagnostic service. After waiting for about 2 hours, the service guy comes out and says that 'they can't see anything' on the lift and they'll have to take it all apart for an additional $500. It may have been more, but I don't remember the details, but it was an outrageous price. I ended up still paying $50 for them to raise the car and say they can't visually tell what's wrong - which was knowledge I already had and I had explained to the service guy. So, he went ahead and charged me for something I already knew. I love being treated like an idiot. I'll give it 2 stars solely for the parts department. On Friday I went to another dealership having been promised pricing on a new 2015 F-150 based on THEIR advertised price. When I arrived and sat down to go over the numbers, I was presented with something around $6,000 more than I was told! I immediately got up and left. I sent Akins Ford a message that evening and Tyler Healan responded. I set an appointment for the next day. I asked if the advertised price was the ACTUAL price or something that had incentives I needed to qualify for in order to get that price. "That was the price" was his answer. Counting a test drive, we had a deal within hour and a half. Tyler was excellent to work with and the entire process went smooth. I dropped my car off for warranty repair to the suspension. They had it a week. They didn't know what was wrong with it but replaced the tie rod bushings. Took it back the following week for them to tell me it was the strut and they had to order it. Went back the third week for them to tell me it wasn't a stunt but an upper control arm, had to order it. I'm beyond upset. They ended up taking a part of a brand new car off the lot to fix mine. Think about this.. was your brand new car used for parts before you bought it? And had it not been for warranty work I would of had to pay for two parts that I didn't need. I was not happy. I had to bring my car to have 2 recall fixed. My appt. was at 9:30 and your head of the recall department told me that I should be out by 12 or 12:30. I also decided to have my oil changed while I was there and was told by (tom or tim, I dont remember) that if I brought my car in about 30 - 45 min earlier they could do that first. This sounded perfect. I got there at 8:45. My service order did not show it started until 9:00. When it became noon I asked Kaitlin at your check out desk to check and see how much longer she said she would and let me know. Never heard from her, nor anyone else. Then about 12:30 I again checked with her same answer, again not her nor anyone else bothered to let me now what was going on. I finally, about 1:00, went back to speak with Bo Sorrells, person whom I purchased the car from, and asked him to check on things since I was not getting any where with anyone else. He did and told me that the computer was doing it's final check and calibrating everything and it would be about 30 more minutes. At about 1:30 I finally checked out. No one, at any time, came and gave me a report on what was going on. When I was told that it would be about a 2 hour project, plus 30 minutes for oil, someone should have told me it would be 4 hours. I don't appreciate not being given a report when I asked several times for a status update. When I did check out I asked if I'd have a report on the 31 point inspection and was told it would be in my car...it was not. I went back to the service man and asked where my report was. He went and came back with the report and said it was hung in the computer. Then why did they not fix it and have it in my car without me having to ask. I doubt very seriously if I'll drive all the way up here again when I have a Dodge dealership in my area. read more

I put in an inquiry on it and got a call back within three hours. Then we talked about what I wanted and that I wished to trade in my 2013 Equinox. They ran some numbers and the next day I got call back to bring my car in for an appraisal. My Sales Pro Tyler Healan broke all the numbers and explained everything line by line to show there were no surprises. They gave me a generous amount on my trade and then Scott Dickey took over in Finance. We discussed payments and warranty options. Overall they made this purchase stress free. I knew going on my credit was less than stellar but they made it work. I would go back to Akins Ford again for my next vehicle and recommend people compare prices with other dealers. I had been looking for a 2014 Dodge Charger between June 2014 and January 2015. I was kind of particular on what I wanted for options. Got a call from Akins saying they had what I was looking for.(I had been using several car search engine sites out there to help me narrow down my search). I contacted them and they sent me the information on the vehicle and it was exactly what I had been looking for. We discussed the vehicle, trade in, finances, down payment and all that in great detail. I told Akins that I was living in Augusta GA and would only make the deal if they could guarantee a few things: 1. I would make the drive with my family if they could get me into the finance office with all the paperwork ready when I arrived. 2. I would not have to haggle or hassle with anything once I got there. 3. The vehicle would be ready--washed, cleaned and fueled up ready to go. The results 1. Made the drive... about 2 hours-ish. They scheduled a set appointment time and had everything already prepared so all I had to do was sign it and walk out with my new car. Approximately 9 minutes in finance to sign everything and I got a lower interest rate than what they were originally told by the bank. 2. There was nothing to hassle over.... AT ALL!! Price was what I said I would pay and what we agreed on, no hidden anything. 3. Vehicle was actually parked off to the side away from other customers, sparkling clean-inside and outside, and was fueled up and ready to go. I only had to wait about 20 minutes before getting into finance because of another buyer, was haggling over everything, and was pretty rude since we could hear him from almost anywhere in the building. The sales rep told us to take the keys and go for a test drive; set the seats, mirrors, steering...etc. By the time we got back about 12-15 minutes the guy was finishing up so it all worked out perfectly. If I still lived in Augusta GA and needed another vehicle, I would definitely go back to Akins Ford Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram. Awesome Experience! Amazing customer service! Waiting area was top notch! I have purchased three vehicles at this dealer. The service and parts dept are wonderful. but I will never buy a vehicle there again. i trusted my salesman as I have used him before and felt I could trust him to do what we had agreed upon.I was not feeling my best and I was taken advantage of because of it. My fault, I should have not went and trusted a car salesman to do what they say. I was supposed to be getting a vehicle with 13000 off and It turns out it was only 7000 off. So did not have good experience here. Thought we came to an agreement on a price and waited forever for the finance people to stand around and pretend like they were working. Finally came after several hours. Really should of walked after waiting 30 minutes, but I was stupid to wait. When they came with the financing they jumped the price up of the vehicle up by a bait and switch method. Tried to leave - but they became very pushy - so not a place to buy a vehicle. Not sure where all of the positive reviews are coming from. I am thinking it is from all of the sales people standing around and pretending so work hard. I have had nothing but problems with Akins! When I went to order a car (at the time they didn't have the color or options on the lot)- the sales person told me that when I was serious to have my dad come in a talk. Needless to say I went down and ordered a brand new car from Riverside Macon Ford. Someone hit my car and I went to Akins because they were closer for repair. It was supposed to be done in 2 weeks, they had my car for over a month. I also took my car in for an oil change (granted it was on a Saturday and I expected a wait)- after 2 hours I checked on it and found out that they had it up on a rack with the oil drained, but it had been forgotten. Will not go back to them if they are the last place on earth!! read more

I saw a new ford that interested me on line. Price looked reasonable. When I got there to inquire, it turned out that the price quoted on line assumed that I would finance through Ford Motor Credit and also trade in a car. If I didn't want to do that, then the price was $3000 more. I wish I had known that before I took the time to drive there. read more

This POOR review is totally written for the rude & abrasive response I received from JERRY CARROLL-Service Dept Mgr over a complaint I made with FoMoCo concerning a $2K repair bill. The power sunroof on my 7 year old truck failed, leaving the roof opened, with no way to close. Visited dealership & was quoted $1900 to replace 2 roof tracks. Leaving little option except to replace OR having an opened rooftop, I approved repairs. After searching the web, I learned that this issue is not uncommon. Several sites offered DIY solutions to correct. I reached out to Ford Customer Care resolution center for some assistance, thinking a goodwill offer could/should be made due to: Obvious design flaw. Sunroofs have been redesigned since my model. A new, larger sunroof option on NEW truck cost $1200. Loyal customer since 2009. I bypass 2 Ford dealerships to patronize Akins. FoMoCo refused any assistance & referred me to Akins Dealership. I had the misfortune of dealing with JERRY CARROLL. He tersely questioned me, "what do you expect us to do about it?", "what do you want us to do?" broadcasting from his speaker phone! While not expecting a free sunroof replacement, a little empathy or dealer's cost would have sufficed. He readily admits, "those replacement parts are ridiculously expensive some times." I've since bought a new truck from Akins from the most outstanding & professional salesperson-he receives 5-stars! Unfortunately, my dealing with Akins has been tarnished by CARROLL's unprofessionalism. As a goodwill gesture, owner Brad approved a $495 bedliner (dealer's cost $275) to compensate my "troubles"; a FREE option I received on my first F150 Lariat from Akins. read more
