I don't take leaving negative reviews lightly. I waited over a year before writing this because I genuinely hoped Brian would do the right thing and gave him multiple opportunities to resolve this privately. I've also seen how Brian has responded to other one-star reviews, often placing blame on the reviewer instead of addressing the concerns raised. For that reason, I understand he may publicly dispute what I've written. Regardless of any response, everything in this review is based on my firsthand experience and the communications I still have. Brian brought me on to train and perform wheel repairs at Atlanta Wheel Repair. At no point before or during my employment was I told there would be an unpaid training period. Throughout my time there, Brian repeatedly talked about how quickly someone could earn six figures doing this work. As a single mother, that was a significant incentive and gave me every reason to believe I was working toward a legitimate paid opportunity. Because of those repeated conversations, I never had any reason to question when I would be paid. When I finally asked Brian when I would be paid, I was terminated within minutes instead of receiving an answer or being compensated. During that conversation, Brian also told me that I had enough money saved and didn't need to be paid. I found that comment both inappropriate and irrelevant. Whether I had savings had nothing to do with whether I should be paid for work I performed. I still have the text messages documenting our conversation. During my time there, I also experienced repeated sexual harassment from a coworker named Kyle. I did not feel management addressed my concerns or provided a professional work environment. Another former worker personally told me he also had not been paid, and Brian openly discussed that situation in front of employees and others he worked with. Despite those conversations, Brian never told me before or during my employment that MY training would be unpaid. That explanation only surfaced after I asked when I would be paid. After I began telling others that I had not been paid, Brian texted me saying there was "no need to call or text everyone about how I'm not paying u" and that he was "getting pissed." I found those messages intimidating and felt discouraged from speaking openly about my experience. If you're considering working for Atlanta Wheel Repair, protect yourself. Get every pay agreement in writing before performing any work. Ask direct questions about how and when you will be paid, and don't rely on verbal understandings alone. What Jay and Calvin are doing is amazing! They take a true icon, the Land Rover Discovery 2, which has lately earned a terrible reputation for reliability and usability and transform them into terrific vehicles for a broad spectrum of uses and users. The BIG problem with the D2 series was the many and major engine failures, especially in the case of the 4.6 engine in 2003-2004s. The reasons for this were multitude, but suffice to say that they ALL needed big-time fixing. Atlanta on Wheels makes the fix by sending the engine through a very thorough "remanufacturing" process, pretty much like Atlantic British does as well. The major advantage of this work is that the old, loose and leaking cylinder liners are replaced with the cure: flanged, or "top hat" liners that seal and strengthen the engine. Of course, the rest of the engine, in fact the rest of the vehicle, is inspected and upgraded too. And they give a guarantee on the work; who does that?! They even encourage you to choose the price and style of Discovery you want from mild to wild. Check out the monster trucks they call "Big Homie"! Their depth of knowledge about all things D2 and the depth of their spare parts inventory is unparalleled in the South, and maybe the country. I called Brian after having my brand new rim repaired by another company. A couple of weeks after the repair, I had my car serviced at the dealer. I didn't think about them washing my car, but when I went to pick it up they had washed it and much to my dismay, my newly repaired rim's finish was damaged by chemicals they appear to have used on the tire/wheel. When I contacted the company that repaired my wheel only two weeks before, I was told too bad for you...if you want it fixed it will be a charge of $100. Mind you, this was essentially a touch up, not a repair. I decided to call other companies to better understand if this type of damage is expected and learned that if acid based cleaner is used for the wheels, the finish will be damaged. Brian asked a bit more about the damage and requested I send a picture. He said, not a problem, I can take care of that for you in 5 minutes and we arranged to meet when he was in my area. True to his word, I met him and he quickly touched up the wheel and looks great. On top of that, he would not accept payment for it! What?!? Good guy, great work and outstanding customer service. Ran into a curb by AFD truck and damaged wheels. Links to Tesla DashCam videos. Sent Atlanta Wheel Repair an email and got an estimate back in minutes. Set time and place and was given an estimate of 45 minutes to an hour for work and a price estimate. Brain was there early, waiting and got right to work. Walked around the block and came back and it looked like he switched them for new Tesla wheels. Paid $15 less than the estimate and drove off in just over 30 minutes from the time I arrived.
