Oh my goodness! Bath Savings is the most darling financial institution I have ever seen. I was…read moretraveling through multiple states and not having any luck finding a branch of my bank to get cash. Little did I know, the NH and ME DOT turnpikes did not accept debit cards. I rarely carry cash anymore because everyone accepts cards now. Well, with the exception of the DOT in NH and ME. The tollbooth personnel made me feel like I was the scourge of the earth because I didn't have cash for the toll. In order to avoid the same situation at the next toll, I had to get cash and get it fast. I stumbled upon this adorable branch of Bath Savings and went through the drive-up ATM. It was fast and efficient. If I lived here, I would open an account immediately.

My wife and I opened a checking account about 6 months ago. we wanted to take advantage of there…read morebeing no fee when using an ATM outside of the country, a great feature that our old bank used to have before a merger. Essentially, we planned to use the Bangor debit card only for travel. Despite have never used the card since we opened the account, we found out today that the card was used in an attempted fraudulent purchase on Amazon. Fortunately, Bangor Savings Bank blocked the transaction and sent us an email. They were helpful when we called them today. However, I now have serious concerns about their lack of security. This card was used for an attemped fraud, despite the fact that we have never used it, which means that any information that the malfeasants obtained was directly from Bangor Bank itself, and not from some ATM, online purchase, or store somewhere. And this after the account being opened just a few months. That means that someone gained access to all my personal info, including SSN, etc. Who knows if down the road I will now have to deal with the consequences of identity theft due to this breach.

I am partially paralyzed and disabled and also a wheelchair user. After calling the bank again, they were kind enough to have someone deliver them directly to my home within half an hour. Can you imagine if I lived in a big city, the hassle that I would encounter and trying to get these tax forms?
