The NH office would not give me a reason for the denial. The Auburn staff repeatedly said they would find out why. Asked many times, they never responded. The bank person dropped the ball big time and did not do one thing correctly or on time. And lied about it to me. The last straw was when I got a rejection letter from the bank's fraud dept. because she didn't do a thing to plead my case, got paperwork in on last day only because i reminded her, and then when i confronted her, she was totally inept, weak, lied and not at all helpful. I had asked her to call the fraud dept. and talk to someone there about my case and check on it to make sure it understood that what the mover did was a crime - like a robbery. When we got disconnected, she did not even return the call leaving me at loose ends and then no one at the bank picked up my call-back and then closed for the weekend. So because of her I'm losing $900!! Go somewhere else for yr banking where they don't lie and make excuses. So many lies. I want a bank that stands up for me and protects me and my money!

I switched my direct deposit over to accomodate their requirements. 1st month i'm hit with a $5 statement charge, which i wasn't aware of buried in the fine terms of the opeing agreement. This caused my account to be overdrawn by $8 due to other debits clearing. The $300 was not credited as the Overdraft "negated" the qualifications for the reward. Had I not head the "underdisclosed" fee, and the subsequanet OD charges, this would not have occured. When I spoke to Britany, the branch manager, she said there was nothing she could do. I asked if there was someone else I could talk to about it, and she said I would get the same answer. Maybe a complaint to the Maine Bureau of Banking is in order.

One day she decided to keep my car, I had to call the police to get it back, and then she kept my only ignition fee. So, because I live on Social Security and am pretty poor, my family sent me $500 to change all of the locks on my car. My credit union wouldn't cash the check for me even though they had done that for me previously, but my friend had a Bath Savings Institution account. She took my check, deposited it into her account via ATM and gave me the money, so that I was able to keep the homeless lady from taking my car or stripping the parts. That is when I decided to get a Bath Savings account. I am now a loyal BSI customer.

When adding house insurance to my plan, it took days for them to get back to me and help me when I was trying to close. The only good thing they've helped with was for a claim in 2018 for my car. Hard to reach, unreliable, and much easier going with a bigger company. Do not recommend.
