I am the primary caregiver for my mom who is hospice. The nurses who visit are all good at their…read morejobs but the staff in the office are slow to move. I've had mix ups with getting aides or massive delays. Messages not returned. I've gotten slight attitude on the phone. I had to call the medical supply company myself to see if I could get a hospital bed urgently delivered even after I was assured it could happen last minute. Then the company on the phone told me they were too busy. Then VNA pushed and got it delivered but I never should have had to jump through those hoops to begin with. Period. When requesting an aide a second time, more than a week went by and I had to follow up. The chaplain and social worker were nice but it seems to me overworked as there was no follow up without prompting weeks later. The doctor chose this provider and if I had more information, I would have gone with a different Hospice provider completely. Everyone told me how great hospice services are for both the patient and the caregiver. I have not experienced that with VNA. Heaven forbid my mom passes on a weekend. I do not have faith in them that they will respond quickly. Aside from the visiting nurses assigned to us, I do not trust the professionalism of the staff in the office or their response time. I would not have written this review if I didn't experience multiple issues.

I specifically went with VVA because they offered all 3. They told my hospital they had health aids. Well they don't. It was the same issue for me 3 years ago. I had PT and OT no health aid ever showed up. Seriously, if you need a health aid this is not the place for you. Don't waste your time waiting. I requested a dietician, waited 2 weeks before I heard from the dietician only to call back the next day and never hear from her after 2 more calls and 2 additional calls to Visiting Nurse directly ensuring me I would get a call back. Never happened.

I'm in Maryland but he doesn't have any family nearby so I am the next best thing. I didn't know how to go about looking for someone. I called a couple of home care agencies but they were expensive and was not sure what we were getting for $25 to $27 an hour. When i looked online there were many different ways to go and I was a bit overwhelmed. So I went on Yelp which i periodically due for restaurants and such. I was surprised that LeanOnWe jumped at me. The reviews were strong and they were varied. At first I didn't realize that they were any different than the home care agencies. Then i realized that they weren't an agency but just a way for me to connect with someone that my uncle would end up hiring. Very clever. Since my uncle would be hiring the caregivers, it was meaningfully less expensive but would give us everything we were looking for. So I called up and told LeanOnWe what my uncle was dealing with, where he lives, and what he was looking for. They sent bios of 5 people who fit the bill, my uncle and i spoke to two of them on the phone and decided to hire one of them. It worked out great. What a creative way for us to manage this process. We would have been stuck otherwise. So far the woman we chose has been working for about three weeks and all is working well. It is nice knowing that if she can't make it we can always go back to LeanOnWe and find someone else. A happy customer

Unfortunately -I must give them a very negative review. I…read morehave asked them numerous times to assist me in replacing a live-in caregiver who has created a very toxic environment for us. The caregiver constantly manipulates the family against each other in order to get his way. Every time I try to replace him the agency interferes and ignores my requests even though I am the one hired them and I am the one who pays the caregiver who I dislike immensely. I should not have to be a situation where I am forced to keep a caregiver that I dislike. They don't return my phone calls and they ignore my requests to get a different caregiver. Instead of working with me to replace this caregiver who has created an extremely toxic environment, the agency will go behind my back and reach out to another family member who has very little to do with the caregiving, is easily manipulated and it results in arguments about replacing the caregiver. I don't want a caregiver who is only in it for the money and who does not have patients wellbeing in mind. I constantly have to step in and make sure the patient is being cared for. I should be allowed to replace a caregiver that I have no trust in. The caregiver should not be in charge and the agency should not be in charge. Thay have made a difficult situation even more difficult by pitting family members against each other. I dislike them immensely. Be careful

I have a 9 month old (who has a history of being hospitalized) and they sent a lady who did not speak English. If she did speak, it was words in English from which I was expected to infer. She was apparently a CNA, I am not sure in which country. I told her twice that my son has malrotated bowels and not to put pressure on his belly and yet she ended up wrapping a towel around his waist that she held him by to assist in walking. She had a ton of make up and perfume that ended up on my son's clothes. As a person, I have no complaints but in terms of qualifications - zero. This was supposed to be back up care when no one is home but I was using their services while I worked from home. I can't even imagine how she would have handled an emergency situation. They put my child in danger.
