The original estimate was simple and they are very quick to schedule you and give you an estimated time frame (weather dependent). Overall, they did a great job. I will say, they are a bit on the pricey side compared to other companies in the area. We had gotten an estimate for some powerwashing/roof cleaning and their quote came in the highest so we unfortunately didn't use them for that service. However, they do a fantastic job. I used to use Ned Stevens for seasonal gutter cleaning. Those guys used to try to sell me new gutters every time they came out. Eventually I was like "you sold me all new gutters 6 months ago! How could I need them again?!" They were like "uhh, we sold you new ones 6 months ago?" So I switched to NJHMS and have used them for the last several years. They never try to up-sell me new gutters. They come out 4x a year, notify me before and after, the gutters are clean and rarely tell me that I need a small repair. The prices for cleaning and repair are very reasonable. I do not believe all these wonderful reviews are real. Why? Because NJ Home Maintenance Services isn't real. They have a tiny storefront in a tiny commercial shack on Rt 46 in Fairfield, NJ. They write low ball estimates with a lot of leeway to charge much much more and want you to agree in writing that they can charge you much much more. They demand your credit card number to schedule the work. You have to fax or email the credit card number to them. Then they decide how much they can charge your credit card. At no point are you allowed to see a live person so you don't know who has got your money. It is a little like catfishing. Avoid and don't give them your credit card number especially before they even make an appointment to do your work. It could really hurt you if you do. It is worse than handing over cash to a stranger. read more

Great overall experience. If you reach out, I would recommend you do it by email (estimates@njhomemaintenanceservices.com) since they are extremely responsive via email. I had called in initially and I think they lost my information since I never heard back. Once I emailed, they were hyper responsive and apologetic. Had a complete gutter replacement on the entire house. I received an estimate in less than 24 hours (they took pictures and clearly drew everything out that they recommended) The price came in exactly as was estimated. After the first storm, I noticed an issue with some water coming out the side of a gutter. I emailed them again, and they pounced on it. They immediately scheduled a follow up visit to fix a seal that didn't seal correctly. They're a well-oiled machine and I would definitely recommend them. read more

I was happy with the service from the beginning!!! They were fast to respond on Yelp when I messaged for a quote. They asked specific questions to give me the best quote. They also called me to verify everything once I was sure I was going to go with them. Tip: Pictures definitely help them give a good quote. Take pictures and post in your quote request... Their timeline is approx 2 days (Once a date is confirmed) to come out within a certain date because it just all depends on weather. They arrived yesterday Tuesday 11/12. Luckily it didn't rain but it was really cold. Conrad was very professional. They worked quickly and did a great job. All they ask for is a hook up for their water hose. (No problem!) I also asked for a quote to have a set of new gutters installed and he measured it out. When they were done, they took the time to explain to me that one set of our existing gutters was installed improperly. That's why the build up of dirt was so bad and one downspout is installed wrong as well. So, I asked him to do a quote to have all New gutters replaced. He was happy to do it and take measurements. The quote they gave for the cleaning was accurate and exactly what they charged. Overall I was very happy with their service and look forward to using them again to get all our gutters fixed and new ones installed. As well as regular cleaning next year! read more

Not sure how they are but I sent in a request for an estimate and responded to an email on questions on gutters when I was asking for an estimate on lawn drainage. Well I never heard back from them so I guess they didn't want my service. Update: I was immediately contacted as soon as they saw this review and they apologized for not getting back to me earlier. With all the rain we have had they have been really busy. Even with their busy schedule they were able to send someone out the next day when there was a cancellation to give me an estimate. With their immediate response I changed this to 5 stars as they called right away to make things right. read more

These guys do exactly what they say they'll do! We limped along for several years with a different (cheaper) company- sometimes they'd show up, sometimes not, sometimes they'd clean ALL of our gutters but sometimes we'd find a clogged downspout right after they left. So then we tried Ned Stevens, but the guys who showed up said the house was bigger than they expected, and that we'd be getting a call from the office with a new price. Never heard from them. So we booked NJHMS (which is what we call them, because we don't have time to say New Jersey Home Maintenance Services) and a very nice human person answered right away and got me scheduled. Two guys showed up on time with good equipment, cleaned the gutters and downspouts, gave us a report on the condition of our gutters (didn't try to sell us anything) and that was it. read more

We were unpleasantly surprised when the method used to clean our gutters was not what was expected. In the past other companies have scooped and bagged the debris and taken it away. This company used leaf blowers which sent debris scattering everywhere. It was embedded in our plants, patio furniture, and made a huge mess. The two service people were at our property for 15 minutes total and did not make any effort to clean the downspouts as promised - one was completely clogged after they left. We contacted the company who responded immediately and refunded our money, pointing out that we used them last year and did not have a problem. I verified this was true, and that it was a little earlier in the year (and we were not home). They also said we could request they not use leaf blowers and instead scoop and bag the debris. Given the interaction on the phone where the ask a series of questions, I am surprised this is not one of them. While we were not satisfied with the job performed, we greatly appreciate their quick and satisfactory resolution to our objections and concerns. read more

I called NJ Home Maintenance Services to fix a problem with a gutter, power wash the deck and to get vents for the roof. The work was outstanding to level that I hired them again for another job to fix the roof issues. Besides the quality of their work, the best of their services is that they don't try to sell you more services that one does not need. After talking to Krys the first day, I got the contract the same night via email and within couple of days, the work was done effectively. On the day of service, the gentleman who came out was on time within the window. He gave me the paperwork and got right to work. He immediately found the issues causing rain water to not clear the gutters properly (two birds nests). He also noticed and cleaned a bunch of other debris. He had good advice on whether or not i should get gutter guards, and explained why they probably would not be worth it in our situation. What an excellent company to work with! Customer service is definitely one of their top priorities. I used them to install gutter guards and jet out clogged underground lines. We had a little confusion (my fault) on the estimate and I had a few back and forth phone calls. They were always very nice and polite on the phone, revisions to the estimate were always punctual, and it made me feel like I was a priority and not just a job number. One of the workers eventually came out to my house and I was able to go over and clarify what I was looking to have done. It was a very easy process. I had an updated estimate the next day and the job was completed about 2 weeks later. I never thought I would be looking forward to the rain so I can see these new gutter guards in action! I recently hired NJ Home Maintenance Services to power wash the siding of my house and shed, and clean my gutters. Overall, they did a great job all around. In terms of communication, they are responsive. Mike picked up the first call and explained all the details on getting a quote, what services are included, scheduling, etc. I received my quote two days later after they came by my house to see what needed to be done. After signing the paperwork and putting down a 20% deposit, they scheduled to have the job done. I would have preferred to have more say on the scheduling, but I was literally scheduled for the day after. If there is any criticism, it's that they can be too quick to get things done. That said, they did the job very well. There was one issue, but they resolved it immediately. My overall impression is they're focused on making the customer satisfied. I'm updating a previous review. I filled out a request for a quote to have my gutters gutters cleaned and a piece of leader that had fallen put back into place online. There is a new customer discount, $30 off the first cleaning if I remember correctly. I received the quote by email and set up an account online. Next I spoke to a representative over the phone. They had availability relatively soon, that was great. I received an email with a two day time frame within which they would perform services. Originally, the gutters were cleaned but the leader was not replaced. After a phone call and written complaint my leader was replaced the following week. I am a new home owner, as such I have nothing to compare their services to. read more

They came out and gave me a quote which was very over priced. Gutter cleaning and install my own gutter guards for over $1,000. Normal gutter cleaning is around $150 to $200. So installing my own gutter guards, their labor cost, is $800? How much do they charge an hour? I ended up hiring different company who clean and installed my guards for total of $300, they installed my gutter guards in 2 hours. If you want a company who charges $400 an hour for their labor, then this is the company for you. read more
