If you're staying in Baltimore, Fells Point is 100% the way to go cobblestone streets, water views, history everywhere, and so much character. This hotel sits right on the marina, which makes it even better. The building itself is historic and full of charm. Exposed brick, dark wood, beautiful decor the hallways genuinely reminded me of walking through a classic old ship (Titanic vibes in the best way). If you love history, character, and atmosphere, this place delivers. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating from start to finish. Customer service here really stands out and makes you feel taken care of. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The bed was great, coffee was available in the room, and breakfast was complimentary each morning fruit, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, danishes, English muffins, plus a very fancy coffee machine that makes lattes, mochas, and more at the push of a button. They also offer a complimentary happy hour from 5-6pm with a free glass of wine, which was a really nice touch. That said, and this is important to note, not a complaint this is a historic hotel. Because of that, there were a few quirks. I had about 15 minutes of hot water before it turned cold on two of the three days, and the pipes/heating system were a bit noisy at times. Nothing unexpected for an older property, but worth being aware of if you're sensitive to that sort of thing. My rate was about $145/night (government rate), which felt very fair for the location, quality, and overall experience. This is a five star stay, no question. Any minor age related quirks are far outweighed by the charm, beauty, location, and exceptional staff. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates history, character, and a truly unique hotel experience.

They had a small lot and our car, with belongings, were safe. Upon arriving we were worried what the place would look like inside. It was very nice. We were also happy to see that they had an elevator. We were warmly greeted and shown our room. The room was very clean. The bathroom was large and appeared to be marble or at least, very good stone. We had a jacuzzi and a separate shower. It was difficult maneuvering the jacuzzi as the faucets and knobs were very unique. The refrig and microwave were in the closet. We didn't find it until my husband went down to look for the fridge with complimentary water! Breakfast was very good. You ordered the night before and there were no mistakes. Breakfast alone was worth upwards of $10 each. The fruit was good and both our omelettes as well. I had the egg white and my husband - usual omelette. We shared a waffle. There was a Keurig and water available all day. We enjoyed our stay and walked into Fells Point - not a short walk (1 mile or so) but when eating fresh ice cream from the oldest market (that just opened) a walk was necessary!

The room was thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable couch, bed, and bedding, and the robes were so soft I didn't want to get dressed. The real highlight of the stay was the pool. It is right on the water, with an incredible view of the harbor, and has plush loungers and towels. The bar service was not great - there never seemed to be enough servers - and the drinks were wildly overpriced and tiny. But that is kind of to be expected in this type of environment. Still, this was a very relaxing experience and worth the stay. They also have a house car you can check out like a library book, and e-bicycles (although they were not in service during our stay).

When I first entered the room I noticed it smelled pretty musty. Luckily the windows have a small section that opens. I thought I could open that and air out the room while I went to get dinner. Unfortunately, it didn't help at all. The carpeting and furniture are so gross looking I imagine the smell is coming from that and the window curtains but not really sure. The wallpaper is peeling off but as I was leaving I saw they were peeling it off in the lobby so hopefully they are working on replacing that. Water pressure is okay. If they replaced the carpet and furniture (or at least steam cleaned it) I think that would make a huge difference.

The hotel is impressive in its scale, but more importantly, it is clean and well maintained. Sometimes, various Marriotts, Hiltons, and other chains can let their flagship property in a city become dated and dusty, knowing that people will stay there regardless for various events. Not here - everything was polished and elegant. Our hotel room was spacious, with comfortable beds and perhaps some of the best views we've had in years. On the 12th floor, our view happened to include what seemed like all of Baltimore proper, including its waterfront. Better yet, there was a couch placed near the window, so you could have a scenic view as you curl up with a book! The water pressure in the shower was some sort of "rainfall" setup but functionally terrible. Still, that's not a reason to deduct a star :) The event spaces were beautiful as well, with wonderful harbor views. I didn't get the breakfast buffet, but my husband did while I got nails done. The king suite was amazing, but the queen suite I booked was a bit falsely advertised. I was expecting a pink themed room (for the birthday girl), but it was yellow instead, not like the pictures online. Minor detail, but I was a bit disappointed. Another small detail I noticed was the quilt detailing was peeling, but underneath was different colored fabric. I'm not sure if the ripping quilts was intentional or not, but it put me off a bit. Other than that, the decor was fabulous. I loved the checkered tiled bathrooms, the leopard print carpet, and canopied beds. For one night, both rooms ran me about $500. Not bad for a luxury hotel, but not cheap either. Check in was seamless, the rooms were clean, and we enjoyed going to the bars inside the hotel including the Ash Bar, Blooms, and Coral Wig. In my 3 days experience walking around Baltimore and surrounding areas of the hotel, it is pretty bad. There are people on the streets clearly on drugs and the Marijuana smell alone lingers on me after i walk pass them. Alot of homeless people, people boldly asking for money, people of certain variety gathering on the streets making it intimidating to walk by. So, to say the least, the location of the hotel is terrible unless the city cleans up the streets and straighten out the community. Inside the hotel, people were helpful and nice. Everywhere inside is too dark. It might be on purpose but it give creepy vibes or didn't pay electric bills vibe. The intended vibe is supposed to be very baltimore and i can see why. The room is clean and nice. Still dark. The bed is soft and comfortable. Outlets are a complaint for me. I had to move take and chair to the corner of the room to plug in. Bathroom is clean as far as I can tell. My only complaint in the bathroom is when showering, occasionally the water unexpectedly becomes scorching hot. Maybe someone flushed on the other room but I got temporary burn right in the face so be careful. The ash bar was the only food spot inside the hotel. Dinner was alright but I'd pass on breakfast here. Overall, it is a decent hotel in a bad neighborhood. I wouldn't come back mainly because of the neighborhood. Baltimore is just overall in rough shape.
