Springbrook came to our house Saturday 10/21/23 to power wash our house. At approximately 11:30am…read moreour power went out. The Springbrook employees immediately rang our bell to tell us that they had hit the power box to our generator with the power washer. I went out to the panel, there was white/grey smoke coming from it and there was a burning smell coming from the box and inside the house coming up from the basement. They apologized profusely, they called the owner, Jason Bowley who they said directed them to return our payment as we had paid by check upon their arrival. We were without power from Saturday morning until Tuesday 10/24/23. We have reached out to the owner, he has since ignored all and any requests for his insurance information. He is also claiming that our generator box was not water tight, therefore denying responsibility. We called an electrician, they came out late Saturday afternoon, they showed us the burned switch and water inside the box after Springbrook left. They notified us that this could have resulted in a fire. Our generator is 4 years old, well maintained, and in pristine condition. We have never had any issues with water in this panel. The generator runs a maintenance cycle every month with no issues. Over the weekend our generator shut off, the electrician said that there is probably more damage to our generator due to the water and subsequent explosion, as well as the electrical current. They won't know how extensive it is until the switch is replaced. We were without electricity, heat, and water for 3 days. Because our generator is also damaged it ran sporadically during this time. My husband corrected the number 401-205-8993, all you have are excuses, he resent the text, still no reply. To your comment below, I am glad that you admit that it is dangerous and that someone could have died, I'm sure that admission will bolster my case. Our generator panel is water tight, as my electrician confirmed. It is not however power washer tight and you know that, stop playing games and trying to deflect the blame. You are still shirking responsibility even though your employees admitted fault, apologized, and returned our payment. As we told you we have video of them hitting the box straight on with the water and it exploding. I filed a complaint with the contractors board and you'll be hearing from my lawyer. You should be ashamed to conduct business this way. Extensive damage done to our generator, absolutely no responsibility taken! The lead painter had 6 yrs, and the guys working with him didn't speak English and were very inexperienced. Besides the estimator, communication was lacking, never did what they said, when and blamed it on the weather. They tried to upsell everywhere. My home is stained and after power washing they said I needed to prime the entire house for an additional 1600). A door frame needed to be repaired an I pointed out a bunch of cedar shakes I wanted replaced. The door doesn't close properly because the job was done poorly and in addition to not replacing a bunch of shingles that should have been replaced, they cut them out around the old shingles, not slid under another 1200. There are drips everywhere, including on trim, on a roof above my door and on my deck, so sloppy. I love the color but I am not impressed by much on this job. They were a contractor not Elco, I could have hired someone with less overhead and saved money, but I wanted experience. I am so disappointed this review is 3 months late. I paid quite a bit, we shall see how long it lasts. We have always painted ourselves but the house is too tall. I would never use Elco again. The owner called me after I called him saying after all the issues did you not want to hear what I thought. The foreman was a joke, never met him even though he was supposed to be onsite until I told the estimator I had never spoken to him. I wish I never sent the final payment but I really just wanted them gone! They were here over a month because they hardly put a full day. I thought my feelings would have subsided but every day that I see 3 broken deck lights, a snapped solar light wire and 3 broken vinyl sleeve covers on the portico, I realize I should have withheld payment. Listen to your gut on this one, if only the estimator calls you back dump them!
