This is a tough one, lots of bunkers, tons of greens protected with bunkers and water...lots of pretty tight fairways left or right. We are novice golfers and have only played a few dozen rounds, but have played on some really nice courses, the front 9 was a challenge, finished +22 when I average +14 for what thats worth. Definitely some frustration, but the condition of the course was not to blame at all! If I need to give this course a rating on the condition of the tee boxes, fairways and greens...not great lots of dead turf, some bumpy greens, some rough tee's it'd be a 3, But honestly, not the worst we've had the chance to play. Saving grace...they were/are offering discounted rates for the rest of the season $30 for 9 walking, we read the web notice when booking so was not a surprise. So for the price, I'd give it a 4. The area with the driving net was adequate for a warm up, but the practice green and fringe was in top shape! If I had to give a rating on what I heard from management and a few members, think it would be a 5/5. The new ownership is moving forward with a renovation plan and couple members have said "you should have seen it before the new owners". Some great energy here, but realize that it'll take at least 2-3 seasons to repair all of the deferred maintenance, so keep that in mind if you're playing this season. There's so much potential with this course and I wish them all the best as we'll be back for sure next year! read more

Course is still not in great condition. Played here today on sept 4 2025. I'll try again in 3-4 years. It's going to take a long time to fix this course. Unfortunate. New ownership and I've played the other course they own. If they can get it to that, it will be great again. read more

There hasn't been a yelp review in quite some time, so I thought I'd stop in to tell you all that this place still sucks. Our foursome paid $300 for 9 holes with a cart, and for that price, we would have expected it to be beautiful, but instead we found ourselves in the middle of a Mad Max movie. The fairways were all brown, starved for water, and riddled with divots. If you've got a bunch of money that you just want to throw away, you can play here, or, for only $200 you can give me a call and I'll come to your place and kick you and three people of your choosing in the shin. You'll save $100, two hours of your life, and it'll be less painful than dealing with this nightmare. I wish I could give it negative stars. read more

Definitely NOT a 100.00/round experience. Crabgrass and bare spots on the greens along with unplayably wet fairways left my twosome with a negative opinion of this course. A 60.00 round at best. Beautiful layout but the course needs work. Lots of long forced carries off the tee which is not a negative but a challenge for high handicappers. 1 Recently played this course 9/27/24. Terrible experience. fairways hardly any grass, appears as though no maintenance was done all season. Paid $100.00 + for 18. Wanted food after round, we were told chef not in until 6pm, we finished at 5pm. Can't understand why membership puts up with conditions. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR $$ TO PLAY THIS COURSE. OWNERS SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND EMBARRASSED BY THE PLAYING CONDITIONS. read more

Our foursome recently played old marsh g.c. We made 2 times to play 36 holes and have lunch between rounds and apps and drinks after. We were told the rate and that we would get a discounted rate for the 2nd 18. We drove 1 1/2 hours to get there and played first round on a course that was nearly underwater at full price. When we went to pay for the 2nd round someone shouted from the back that there would be no discount. At half price with lunch and drinks we left a minimum of 4-450.00 on the table by leaving a half empty soggy course midweek. This is obviously a tourist trap. We will not be back. read more

I am surprised no one has written a review of OM since 2019. My wife and I played on a recent Saturday. The course is in good shape, greens solid, and roll nicely on the fast side. Definitely not worth the $230 we paid for 18 and a cart. No wonder the T sheet was wide open on a Saturday during vacation season. read more

I have played a lot of golf at courses that call themselves elite. I have never walked away so frustrated with how a course has been managed. It was in poor shape, far below standard for a $75 round on a weekday morning. Bill is spot on about the service. The guy at the register couldn't be bothered to offer more than 2 words at any given time and didn't alert us to the fact that they were starting off of the back. Groundskeepers didn't observe etiquette. Layout was nice, tough and could have been world class. But alas it wasn't. Not a surprise it failed as a private club. Barely passes as a municipal. I would drive to The Outlook 100/100 in the future for tough well kept golf. read more

This course is in awful condition. Do NOT waste your time and money playing here. The fairways were mostly dead grass the bunkers were overgrown with weeds. Their "world class" practice area was a joke. Burnt out even more than the course. Their chipping "green" was covered in weeds preventing any roll out on your practice chips. There is no range. I don't know how you can claim to have a "world class" practice area with no range. Their website claims to be "consistently ranked in the Top 25 Courses in New England by New England Golf Monthly. No one is ranking it anywhere near the top 200 now. If all the courses in the area were in similar shape I could cut them some slack but we played the ledges the same day day about 30 minutes away and the course was in great shape. I will NEVER be back to old marsh and I suggest you do the same. read more

Very poor pace of play management. We could see how open it was, beyond the two groups in front of us. We called the clubhouse to ask them to send out a ranger to address. Despite them telling us they would do so, nothing. For the cost of playing here, pace of play should be managed. We never saw one ranger during our entire round. The one star is for their friendly starter, who is always nice every time we come here. Alas - I'm not sure when our next visit will be, if at all. read more

Possibly the worst Pro-Shop ever. No one could be bothered to get off of their cell phones, either texting or personal calls, to wait on any actual customers. They should all be fired immediately!!! When they did finally get around to interacting with customers, they were the rudest people that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with in a golf environment. I have played all over the country and this was a horrible example of customer service! Our group went elsewhere when we completed our round. read more

As a beginner this course was Impossible. I played with my husband who has a two handicap and it was impossible. Too much scrub, sand traps, water and woods to make it fun. I would highly suggest (in Connecticut on most courses) they invest in the little plaques above the hole number a picture of the hole). I hated this course as did my semi pro husband. The scorecard on two holes did not correspond to the markers on the tees. Shape up or ship out old marsh. read more

Couldn't disagree more with the prior review. The staff was very pleasant and professional, particularly In the pro shop. The golf course is a great design, one of the best courses in the region. read more

Enjoyed the course. Nice layout but tough to play the first time due to hidden features. Would definitely play this course again.
