I knew this spot to be mostly Caribbean and Afrikan. It gets crowded after midnight but a comfortable crowded. Drinks weren't to pricey. I drank fruit punch. I wanted to check the place out sober. The bartenders were okay. Not to talkative just made drinks pretty much. I was a bartender so having conversation helps you make tips . I would come again. I mean it's up the road and who wants to always fight for parking downtown. The ox tails were okay. I like the food and atmosphere. I never been inside the smaller bar they have Next door during the week but I know that is the original location. Give it a try. I felt safe and there was no fighting or drama. They offered recommendations for food and drinks and overall the food was great. Lemon drops were not on the main menu, but they said they can make almost anything if they have the ingredients. The most beautiful male wait staff member changed clothes every time he returned to the floor, he gave us a show of his own honey!!! I get hot super easily so I was happy to experience a cool space inside. The AC was cranked up, so if you get cold easily, bring a cardigan. Entertainment was superb, got to interact with the performer and even met with him after the show was over. If I had to list any cons about my experience, it was the staff constantly going back and forth as I was recording the performance on the stage. I had to cut so many of my videos because someone walked directly across the shot. I know they have a job to do, and they do it WELL! And said something like "you can't just go back there and hangout" and I said "I know, I was just asking. The drinks are all well and you should not expect a drink anything faster than a beer or a well drink. I really liked how empty it was and the music was really made for us. And it definitely caters to a kinkier/risque crowd if that's what you're into (I didn't experience any of that, but they have a leather shop and a kink-friendly back room). My only complaints were the bathrooms (far too dark, I literally needed to use my phone light to see the stall lock. It also makes you feel a little nervous when the walls are plastered with "only 1 person/stall" signs). And they needed a second bartender as the wait for the delicious drinks was long. The bartender was solo up until it turned into a cash bar -- she was working really hard! The music was at a great volume, and food was being passed around regularly.
