Lack of communication was a major issue, my child was moved around among different counselors several times and none were well informed about his portfolio. Very discouraging throughout the application process, made my child doubt his ability to apply to top schools-- we went against their advice and he ended up being accepted to many. Not sure why the reviews here are so good, the ones on Reddit are much more honest. Save your money and do a google search instead, you can get the same and more information online for free.

So when I announced to him that I would be going to college, his reply was "with what, I'm not paying for it". I was a good student and got accepted to Cornell, UNLV, FIU, Johnson & Wales and The Culinary Institute. Without his help I attended a community college for my first two years of school. Then I transferred to Florida International University in Miami, which I never saw until the day I showed up for orientation. Both my parents never got a chance to attend a college and I worked full time through all four years of college. Not much of a college experience for me. So for my age group things have changed, touring campus's, SAT prep, ACT prep, Financial aid, essays, thank you letters to school visited, choice, choice and more choices, Etc. This is all a foreign language to me and having a daughter that lives in the NOW and with so many choices and decisions to make. I just can't tell you how much of an asset it is to have Larry Dannenberg coach my daughter and myself about this whole process. I know from personal experience that Larry also handles many other high school students in and around our town of Southborough and that is how he came highly recommended to us. All my daughters will use College Solutions because the rules for admissions change as do our kids from year to year. We started in my daughters sophomore year getting her ready all with Larry's help. This was something I just don't have time for as my wife and I are both self employed just like both sets of our parents were. No mistakes, lots of personal attention, Larry and his staff all very assiduous in their duties when it comes to working with your child. I highly recommend College Solutions.

Their instructors are…read moresecond to none and are able to teach every subject at every grade level from middle school through college. My child was unable to attend high school almost her entire junior and senior years. Quantum Prep did not just teach my child the course materials and test prep, they motivated my child actually go above and beyond what was required. My child's work ethic, organizational and critical thinking skills, and self-confidence significantly improved under Quantum Prep's guidance. These skills have now transferred to post-high school life and I couldn't be happier.

I can honestly say without him, i don't know how I would of finished taking both courses. The lecturers and the TAs didn't communicate the material nearly as clearly and in a shorter time span as he did. He is clear and patient, and wants you to truly learn the material, not just get through a test or assignment. It is clear that he knows his material. Moreover he's very flexible with tutoring time and will take as much time and sessions needed until you understand the material. Being an athlete, my free is greatly limited, but he still found time to make sessions flexible to my schedule to his greatest ability. With my experience with him, if there were more teachers as clear and knowledgable as him, then class would be more clear and interesting and easier to follow. But in real-life situations, tutors such as Solomon are there to bridge the gap and help you succeed. I know I'll be using Quantum Tutoring in the future, especially as I get ready for MCATs, not to mention exams and tests.

I think the problem is the week long format, it's just not long enough for kids to get to know each other and engage with any meaningful activity. So "Game Design with Minecraft", which my son was really jazzed to dive into, was really just a mediocre first week of what should be a longer and more engaging program. Counselors seemed bright and friendly. Program seemed organized and well run. It just seems like their real hook is for parents eager to get their kids engaged with STEM stuff, not a way to expose kids to fun computer stuff in a meaningful way.
