Reid was our instructor and made sure we knew all about gun safety, even for those of us who have shot before. He took us through different types of guns and tips and each of us got a bullseye! The entire facility is great. Outdoors with ear and eye safety protocols in place. Prices are fair considering the amount of fun you're guaranteed to have. Plenty of parking. Can't wait to come back!

If you don't have the proper PPE they do offer disposable PPE for your ears and they give you glasses , if you wish to purchase they have a whole store full of items and accessories , I believe you can bring your own firearm at this location but you must purchase a visitor range pass to do so and also be transported in a case or holster and remain in the case until your at the shooting bay

He confirmed we were okay with the plan and we hoped for the best. We arrived at their cozy cabin where Sam went over information about the Sport, the guns and safety. We were offered water, cofee and tea as well. Sam and his partner set us up with gear and we walked out to the shooting area with dry skys! It was us and another couple so it was a personable experience. We got 25 bullets each and went in turns by rounds of 3. Before we arrived we thought we would fly through 25 but they set it up perfectly. Everyone is at there own pace and there is no pressure. Sam was so motivated to get me to hit a target, he may have been more happier than I was when I finally did ! Over all it was a great experience. Sam and his partner were awesome. Both were friendly, professional, informative and fun. You didn't feel as if you were with a company but more so hanging by a friends cabbin shooting some clay. I probably could have hung out there all day haha. Highly recomended and we look forward to coming back!

We were planning to return to one of them but their website was crashing and burning to register for a lane as they would not take reservations over the phone. So, we decided to try a new place this year, Pocono Pistol Range. My son came over to meet us and we all had a good time. You can complete all the waivers online or in-store and also watch a required safety video for those not members. Pocono Pistol Range is completely open to the public. It also appears to be first come first served for lanes. They have rentals for all types of weapons and also sell all the coolest looking firearms. They also have safety equipment and targets and loaders and whatever else you could need. The younger staffer at the front assisting with customers was a bit gruff, but accommodating. We had gotten there when it opened at 10am. My friend and I had weapons and safety gear, but my son needed ear protection as he had never shot before. I asked about a lesson, and the staffer said only he and the Rangemaster were there and they both had to watch their sections. Another staffer was coming, but he did not know when. For the lane rental, targets, and earplugs, it was $53 for my kid and I. We went upstairs. Once we got in the range, I explained to the Rangemaster that my son had never shot before. He asked if he wanted some help and I said we'll take whatever assistance you could give. He showed my son the basics for about 10 minutes and my son had a really good center grouping for his first time. The Rangemaster asked if it really was his first time. He told him except for shooting some BB guns in Boy Scouts, yes. The people in the lane next to us in heavy accents told my son that the target's pants would be full of s--- after those shots. The Rangemaster also helped with some issues with the weapon (wasn't holding it firmly enough) and my son, friend, and I had a great hour shooting. My kid said he might like to buy a weapon now and do this some more. The Rangemaster was extremely helpful and competent. He paid attention to the others on the range along with making sure all were safe. We had a very good experience and would come back.

The instructor told us to put the target as far back as allowed intentionally, giving near impossible range to shoot the shotgun accurately. The kickback on the shotgun forced the bracket to bent backward, while the bracket is supported by a screw and a bunch of electrical tape. All the slots were damaged severely, seeming like a trap for tourists to cough up $200 for absolutely no reason. The staff was very rude about it, showing no appreciation for customers, seems like they dont like people that are not locals. There was 0 effort of solution other than yelling at the customers for absolutely no reason. I would never walk back in here, go to sunset hill instead, they are a lot better and cheaper!

One minute you're young, single, enjoying life…read more The very next... you're old. With twins (?!) and each year you're trying to find something new and unique for them to experience for their birthday(s). This year I surprised them with... rootin' tootin' (trap/skeet) shootin'. (About a mile before reaching our destination I slipped up and ruined the surprise - which they won't let me live down now!) After driving through scenic and beautiful parts of Jersey (autumn, the colors all around were absolutely stunning) we arrived. It's a mountain. And when you hear those guns going off - it's jarring (for city folk, like ourselves). Yeah - "Thunder Mountain" - is more than a fitting name for this biz. Seven of us (only six are shooting), three generations, and with our most incredible guide/instructor - we were blasting away in no time. We had a clay-zy good time. (Hey, that's the best "dad pun" I could whip up, gimme a break!) Youngest twin was the marksman of the day - 19 of 25. My father-in-law was the least successful - 2 of 25. (The Mrs. and the older twin all did much better than me as well... which definitely dinged my ego, for sure.) It's cash-only. The couple behind the counter at the 'lodge' were very friendly, engaging and no-nonsense. Our guide/instructor really helped to make our afternoon even better/smoother. He was constantly giving us pointers and encouragement and he deserves a raise for putting up with my father-in-law's insistence on refusing to ever yell "pull" (I'm still not sure if it was an honest mistake or him just looking to bust chops) but pretty much any other word that started with a "P". You're given a gun, earplugs and ammo (25 shots in total), rotating after 5 shots/attempts. This was a perfect amount to keep it fresh and interesting and fun. Teens are never impressed, especially if it involves their parents. But the entire ride to Kinchley's (you'll work up an appetite, lemme tell ya) and then home... they could NOT stop talking about how much fun they'd just had and can't wait to come back. (That definitely helped that fragile ego of mine!) PS: the following day I was sore and a bit bruised on my shoulder where the butt of the shotgun rested.
