I contracted with a roofer, and when they came to do the work, it turns out the walls were not completed properly: there is no plywood nor wall wrap in the leaking areas (which is itemized on my contract with Tri Star). I contacted Tri Star to come and redo the work, even sent pictures of the problem areas, and called to make sure they received the photos. That was on March 12, and I have not heard back. Additionally, they took almost four times as long as estimated to do the work. And even then, the work was not completed as contracted, and I have now paid Tri Star more than $10000, and my walls still leak, and the work I have paid them to do is being damaged because the work was not done correctly. There are other construction companies in Denton: find one of them.

Communication was poor throughout the project, and we frequently had to follow up, ask what was happening next, and push to keep things moving. Work also started with very little advance notice. Since there were several items we were responsible for purchasing or arranging, this lack of notice created unnecessary problems when things were suddenly needed before we had a reasonable opportunity to have them ready. A general contractor should be coordinating the project, keeping the homeowner informed, and making sure everyone knows what is needed and when. That was the biggest weakness of this project. The subcontractors and workmanship were good, but the lack of communication, planning, and overall project management significantly detracted from the experience. Based on that, I can only give the overall project 2 stars.

From the very beginning they rush you, make you sign something to only work with them (sketchy, red flag) and then they do mediocre work. They're going to take advantage of you and your home when you're in an emergency type situation. As immoral as they come. They messed up my bathroom tile, then made me feel bad when I asked them to do it right. As if I was asking too much when they didn't do it right in the first place? They also installed a random circular silver drain in the shower, when I asked for and ordered a square gold drain. Hello? The owner, Michael, simply chalked it up to "hiring workers that don't speak English." If that doesn't tell you all you need to know... The attention to detail and doing a decent, not even good, job is just not there. They didn't finish caulking behind the toilet or on top of the counter. They scratched the paint off of 3 doors, and refused to compensate or correct. They got dirt all over the walls and even got paint on my front door and hallway tile. They littered cigarette butts and a giant sponge (???) in my front yard. They left an entire garbage can of trash in my front yard. They even messed up my garage door, when that is an area of the house they were NOT authorized to do ANY work in. Who knows where else they were messing around while I wasn't home? When I asked them to remove the master toilet, I specifically and repeatedly asked them to cover the hole in the ground. When I arrived home two days later, I walked in to find the sewage hole completely gaping open, releasing toxic sewage fumes into my home and bedroom. Unbelievably thoughtless, careless, and downright hazardous/dangerous. They started trying to charge us hundreds of dollars at the end for things we already discussed, and then when we tried to talk to the owner, he basically said he'd just hand us over to his lawyer. He knows he is taking advantage of us, so he didn't want to discuss the money details with us. You can see in the attached videos/photos that they also threaten to take legal action against us, should we post an honest review. They don't have any basis to do so, but just want to scare customers into silence. That's why they don't have any other bad reviews on here. It's too late for me, but please, save yourself. Find another company.
