She found a way to fit me into her busy work days to do a trial run before the morning of my wedding. My experience with her was relaxed and pleasant. She listened to my feedback attentively, adjusted my hair as needed, and was able to deliver exactly what I had envisioned. She was so knowledgeable about cutting hair and in general all that came to taking care of my hair. I was impressed by the products she uses, the results, and how cute the salon is. I enjoyed coming in and immediately being helped with no need to talk to a receptionist. I also was very impressed about little things that she did while cutting my hair since apparently my hair was cut shorter on one side!!! Last But Definitely Not Least, She LISTENED. I said I want to keep the length and how I wanted the unhealthy ends out and she totally did just that. I am SO VERY GLAD WITH THE RESULT! :) She also was super professional and I learned that her experiences have come from working in renowned hair technological companies such as JOICO and another really famous company that starts with a D..can't remember which. :/ And she uses Enjoy which seems good too. But, her saying she worked for Joico spoke Volumes!! I love to use their stuff!!! She also did not try to force me to buy any products but was very interested in explaining how important it is to use good products for your hair. In fact, the first time we spoke on the phone personally she asked me what products I use and told me I needed to try to find a better line than Nexxus or whatever the heck I was using. On that first visit, he highlighted and cut my hair. He charged me $100. I was stoked to finally have my hair done, so I ignored the lopsided, horrible cut he gave me. I went back a few months later, but only to have highlights, no cut/trim. Everything looked OK and he only charged me $90. I went back a third time on June 18th. He fit me in and I was stoked, because that Thursday I would be flying out with my son to visit family in Cleveland and I wanted to look beautiful. At this appointment, I came ready with a picture, as I wanted some dark pieces added in for depth and contrast. David saw the picture and said it was not only cute, but doable. Great. Once I'm washed out and sit back at the chair, I'm flooded with disappointment. Even though my hair is wet, I can see that there are no dark pieces and even the light pieces aren't bright. Whatever, I tell myself, at least my grays are covered. David then asks me if I'm trying to grow my hair out to which I practically yell YES. But he says I should have a trim and he starts to cut. I'm trying to stay positive. I mean, what are the chances that he'll botch my hair again? By the time I'm blown dry and styled, I look in the mirror and am extremely upset. I look washed out. The color looks horrible, there are no dark pieces to speak of and David says that we'll just add darker pieces 'next time.' Next time? I can't really see how bad the cut is because of how he styled my hair. My hair looks terrible and it's more than a month later. The cut is awful. He cut so much off on the right side, that it matches nothing with the rest of my head and is painfully noticeable. As if that wasn't enough, he didn't even cover my grays well. I took pictures while in Cleveland just a few days later and it looks like I never even got my hair done. Oh, and he charged me the most for this visit: $120. I paid more for this bad hair job than any previous visit with him. Needless to say, I won't be returning. I would rather pay twice as much and receive beautiful highlights than go with the bargain guy and look like how I do now. He's a nice guy and I'm not looking to hurt his feelings, but he knew I was unhappy and he did nothing to make things right and that's just unacceptable. So, yesterday, I went to Gercy (after looking at all of her Instagram photos, of course- gghairart) and decided let's just go for it. First time with Gercy and we just did it! She cut 5 inches off and did a sunkissed balayage on my dark color. It's so cute!! People have been commenting on it before I can even mention it.
