I went to this salon today for the first time & got treated like a Queen! I am taking the time to post this review because I am just so pleased with the services I received! I left feeling so good on the inside & looking so good on the outside! Frankie gave me probaly the best pedicure I have ever received. I had never had the product she put on my legs before & it felt so good! I told her I would be back in a month for another & picked out the color for next time & I seen her make a note of it & write down the color number. I also had my eyebrows waxed & they look absolutely perfect now! Frankie is wonderful. She has great customer service, she's very professional & amazing at what she does. She offered me a drink & snacks while I was there & the atmosphere of the salon was wonderful. A lady walked in wanting her ears pierced & Frankie said "no problem, give me a couple minutes to set up". She certainly knows her stuff!! I've been seeing Lauren at Oscar and co for almost 5 years now , and she has never disappointed ! I'm a pretty low maintenance hair person , and I like switching it up every few years and Lauren has been patient with me thru it all. When I came to her , I was a bright red. we ended up toning it down and going more of a purple red color , and then dark red ... until I wanted PLATINUM! And slowly but surely over a year and a half , we went totally blonde. Her work is truly the best. You're hair feels better then ever , she never pushes it too far and leaves you with breakage , and she's realistic about the lightning process ( which everyone should understand ahead of time ! ). Was new to the area and looking for a wonderful hair stylist! Used yelp (of course) and saw great reviews for this salon and a stylist named Kim. Gave her a call and she called me back pretty quickly! That was probably a year ago.... Kim does a great job of understanding what you want to do and executes it perfectly!!! I've gotten many hair cuts in the past year and also have had my dark brown hair colored during this time. I loooooved the color she added to my hair!!!! She always gives great tips on how to maintain and style my hair. She's also such a nice, sweet person!!! Love Kim! Shame on you oscar! I came here as someone recommended me to him being a Client of his for 15 years. I always tipped him 35 bucks. After the last 2 times I was just appalled. Very disheartening too when this is the owner. 2 times he gave me WINDEX to take off the coloring he left all over my face....WTF. Even though he has so many girls who have hair color remover pads, he still had the audacity to put WINDEX on a pad and use it on my face. He also told me to use acid tone nail polisher remover on my face when I got home because the WINDEX wasn't working. Imagine how embarrassing it was for the person who recommended me to you! You owe me an apology! Never again! Maybe invest in your own color remover or do yourself a favor and NEVER do that to anyone else. By no means is that funny, and very unprofessional. read more

The place was nice and easy to find, plenty of parking. There was no one to greet me so I just sort of wandered a bit. I was there for a cut and color and I was instantly told what colors he wouldn't do. A bit of turn off. I then showed him a picture of what I wanted and he said it wasn't possible. I see a lot of people with my natural hair color with the desired coloration, I doubt it's impossible. So I ended up with a blah color and okay cut. Not impressed. read more

I am a stickler for a good color, it has been extremely hard for me to find a good stylist after my last one retired on me. After 15 years with the same stylist, I was ready for a change. I have heard so many great things about Oscar and Company from women I know that I decided to give it a try. I was a bit nervous about going to someone new, but Kim Warren is a pro with a set of shears and I walked out of the salon with a new look that I keep getting tons of compliments about. Even my husband commented on how great the cut was. I have really thick hair and Kim was able to lighten it up and get rid of the bulk. Kim is pleasant, experienced and took the time to show me some great styling techniques before she sent me back out into the world with my new look. The salon is pleasant, busy and has a nice vibe. It was my first time going into Oscar's and my first time going to a hair salon since I've moved to Alpine. Kaeli definitely left me super impressed. I have pretty long hair so getting it cut is always super nerve-wracking to me, as I'm scared someone will cut too much off, but Kaeli was super clear about how much she was going to cut off and spent extra time making sure it was perfect. Lauren Napier is by far the best stylist ever! When I came to her in June, my hair was fried. Patchy and a hot mess. Usually when I get my hair done after a month it goes back to being dead again and starting to loose the color. It has now been four months and my hair is still healthy and looks amazing! Not to mention she makes you feel so comfortable the whole time. There wasn't one awkward moment, which I dread when getting my hair done because every stylist I went to before her won't say a word to me the whole time. I love that she attends professional classes and always tells me what is happening on the "hair-front" scene. She goes over and above other salons to make me happy. I used to get my color done in downtown, San Diego but they were more than double what Kim charges! Same color brand even! The NEW location is warm, welcoming and the wash bowls are like recliners. Had my hair done by Kim Warren at Oscars. I showed her a picture & explained what I was wanting to eventually obtain with my hair style. She was very cordial & explained what steps were needed to get my hair to that style. She colored,trimmed & styled my hair to my complete satisfaction. I also thought the salon was kept very clean & very organized. The shampoo chairs completely recline & were very comfortable to get your hair shampooed in. It's quite large inside & looks freshly remodeled. Every one was friendly too. I watched other stylists working on other clients while I was getting my hair done. I'd say there are many efficient stylists in this place. Oscar (the owner) did a beautiful job on a gal who wanted her long hair cut shoulder length & dyed a dark red.
