Tim with WellPointe reached out to me the same day I did this review. Not only did he state he never received the two voicemails I left, he also looked up my name on Google and called my place of work and ask for me instead of responding to this review. I have never come across someone so unprofessional to reach out to the business I work for in regards to a personal issue. My husband took an at home test with his doctor to be referred to WellPointe. Once he met with WellPointe, they stated he needed to take another at home test to confirm his severe sleep apnea and would then receive a CPAP machine through insurance. Once the results came back confirming the previous test results, they then said he needed to do an overnight test to be eligible for a CPAP through insurance as his apnea is so severe it required overnight adjustments. At the time it felt as if we were being strung along, however with my husband's condition and this center recommended by his doctor, we continued the process. His overnight sleep study consisted of trying on each mask and then sleeping the entire night wearing the same one. 5 months later we received a bill with $534 for the in home test and $2,081 for the overnight. Insurance covered the majority of the in home test, however we owe nearly $600 toward the overnight AND insurance did not cover his CPAP. Upon speaking with Tim, he stated the additional test was due to needing to adjust the pressure of the air throughout the night and required more staffing. He repeatedly told me I clearly did not understand the process, I did not have accurate information and I was trying to get out of paying my bill. Needless to say, I would recommend choosing a center that provides accurate information up front with transparent and timely billing- this is not that center. Tim's last comment to me was he would be calling our doctor to let them know I did a review on him and that I was the type of person who left bad reviews on businesses. This is my first bad review I have done, however I made the mistake of not checking the reviews (1.5 on both Google and Yelp) and hope this will help someone make a better choice than we did.

I have never been to a neurologist so I was a bit nervous on what to expect. Being a new patient and providing my information went well. I got an appointment in a timely matter and new patient paperwork was mailed out to me. The office is quaint but clean and pleasant. The staff are friendly and Dr. Khan is great. He is the type of doctor who will use evidence-based practices rather than throwing diagnoses out there without getting tests done. I had an at-home sleep study, an EEG, and MRI - he obviously is covering everything! The EEG was done in the office and the tech was amazing. She made me feel comfortable while gluing all of these things over my head. I also received the at-home sleep study the same day. My husband was able to turn in my sleep study, so that was convenient for me. My follow-up appointment went fine but Dr. Khan wanted a second opinion from his neurologist colleague from another facility. I appreciated this since again he was unsure and wanted another set of eyes. The only downside is their office hours are not the greatest for people who work M-F 9a-5p.

Finding a good match in a therapist can be very difficult. Over the years, I have been to quite a…read morefew therapists but never felt I really connected with them -- or they with me. There have been some I liked as people, but in terms of a therapist, so many have just missed the mark. They either had their own agendas or they really just didn't listen to what I was saying. (Or, in my younger days, the fact that I wouldn't say anything.) This is not the case with Ginger Houghton at Bright Spot Counseling. I have been working with Ginger for a couple of years now. Her approach is very gentle and accepting. I've never felt judged or shamed, and she is generous with her sprinkling of kind words and praise. One of the best things Ginger did for me was recognize -- and label -- my anxiety. While I knew I was anxious, I'd never had a professional put a name to it and then offer a real, solid method to deal with it. She suggested medication but without judgment; she did not say "You should be medicated". Rather, she approached it gently, saying, "I don't know how you feel about this, and some people are definitely against it, but meds are one way to go." This is Ginger's approach -- it's gentle, and made through suggestion rather than through directives. She never says "Do this!", but rather, "What do you think about this?" Or, "What would happen if you tried that?" She never judges -- just suggests -- and she gives me the space to reject her ideas without feeling that she's rejecting me. Working with Ginger is truly a two way street; she listens, she asks questions, and she lets me ask questions. She doesn't have that stand-offish aura that some therapists have; rather, going to see her is like going to visit a friend, except that all the attention is on me. But, unlike other people I've been to, Ginger is willing to reveal a thing or two about herself, which makes it easy to relate to and trust her. Bright Spot Counseling offers many different methods of therapy. So far, I have just done the regular talk therapy, but once the weather gets nicer, I am planning to venture into (out to?) the walk and talk therapy. Just the fact that they recognize that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all proposition demonstrates how in tune they really are with their clients. Bright Spot Counseling truly is a bright spot in my life.

Dr. Pokorny was very professional and informative about the procedure. The day of the surgery, the staff was very welcoming and professional. Dr. Pokorny came into the room and again reviewed the work that would be done. He had to draw some blood to pack the surgical site. His blood draw was better than most of the phlebotomists I have seen. Dr. Pokorny offered me the option to be under sedation, which I chose. Shortly after the blood draw, I was out. The surgery was done quickly. I went home and have had a quick recovery. Their office has prepared post-op instructions that are very detailed and informative to help with a speedy recovery. Dr. Pokorny followed up with a phone call later that evening to make sure everything was ok. He is a very reassuring and professional doctor. I highly recommend this office. I would not want to go anywhere else.

I had my initial consultation around a year ago just to see what needed to be done and how the process worked, and about 8 or 9 months later I called back to schedule my appointment and because of when I scheduled it, it hit right in the middle of coronavirus so it got pushed back for 5 additional months unfortunately. At this point they were causing me serious pain that I hadn't previously had so the wait was just getting worse day by day and they kept pushing it back. During my initial visit we went over the treatment plan, cost and everything associated with it so I should just have to schedule my appointment and be ready, but no... They require FULL payment up front on day of surgery which normally is fine BUT they require a predetermination from your insurance, they won't take your insurance and say they assume they'll pay this amount so you owe us $xx today, they need 30 days to call your insurance before your surgery to see what they will pay and then you pay your leftover payment on your day of surgery and in my initial visit they did a predetermination with my insurance but later on I found out it was only good for 30 days and they wouldn't do another one unless I came in for another exam before my surgery, so not only was my surgery pushed back 5 months they wanted me to wait another month for an exam then another month for the predetermination and probably another month for the next available appointment instead of just doing the predetermination in the beginning when I made the appointment 5 months ago they waited until a week before my surgery date to tell me this, and I had to have another exam because they said my last one was outdated and things can change in a year and while I don't doubt that, I got charged on my surgery bill for 2 exams that insurance doesn't cover and 2 x rays that insurance doesn't cover so it was just more out of pocket for me that wasn't due to my fault which is SUPER frustrating. I found Rochester OMS through other reviews and had an initial consultation with Dr. Sonpal and liked her, which is the only reason I kept dealing with this to get my surgery done. My dentist recommended I go elsewhere to get them out. My wisdom teeth were impacted and coming in side ways and my dentist said I needed them removed soon because the veins could start getting around the wisdom teeth and I could lose feeling in my jaw if I wait too long to pull them, the doctor said that was a little dramatic but accurate. My doctor was Dr. KATHRYN SONPAL and she was very nice. I spent little time with her but when she was with me she answered any questions or concerns I had and walked/talked me through the process. I'm a few days post-op now and I expected much worse, its just extremely sore with the pain medication and without the pain medication it is very uncomfortable. The surgery itself went quick and I was put under anesthetic. When I woke up I was in a lot of pain and they only had a Motrin 600 to give me which didn't really do much for me. They also gave me a free tropical smoothie coupon, or in other words a $2,500 tropical smoothie. I like the doctor and everything is healing nicely but I wouldn't recommend this practice particularly for them waiting until last minute to tell me I have to either pay the bill myself up front next week and deal with my insurance reimbursing me or wait another 30 days and pay for another x ray and exam out of pocket too. Not cool.
