Two years ago my wife and I after looking into reviews hired Tony Turner to represent and guide us through bankruptcy. We were quickly guided how to pay them thousands of dollars, and given the task of providing paperwork needed for the case. The entire reason I couldn't work is because of a chronic and permanent medical condition affecting my lungs that I'm actively in the process of of gaining social security and disabilities for. While Tony Turner was "working" on our case, I was HOSPITALIZED FOR MY CONDITION AND UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE PAPERWORK. Nancy was understanding and tried to give us more time. Tony Turner was not. He, in an email I was CC'd in (most likely by accident), referred to my wife and I as "those people" in reference to us being late with the documentation. I don't know what demographic of "those people" he meant, be it Filipino folks, disabled folks, or poor folks but considering he's a bankruptcy attorney, it's concerning that's how he views his clients no matter what. After I called him out for his language, he dropped our case completely. He did not finish representing us, he did not post our bankruptcy or meet with the magistrate, he threw a temper tantrum and refused to represent us. He also did NOT refund our thousands of dollars, offer to give us anything back at all (as we're literally FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY), and got angry and adamant when we requested a refund. Luckily, the bare minimum he sent in to the state was enough for my wife and I to REPRESENT OURSELVES BEFORE THE MAGISTRATE and get out bankruptcy approved WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY TO FINISH THE PROCESS. So any excuses Turner is about to say about our case being shady or fraudulent is obviously untrue. He's a greedy bully, and for the love of God go ANYWHERE else for any sort of legal representation. Doubly so if you're a minority or disabled. As an edit, he replied on my posting of a similar review on Yelp by saying, as a direct quote: "Tony T. Business Owner Sorry you had a bad experience. Truth be told you made my skin crawl. Thanks for saying nice things about Nancy but she liked you even less. You reminded use of that lazy 30 something year old unemployed/"disabled" entitled person that would never do what was asked and always had an excuse. As bad as you were your wife was worst. I'm glad I was able to discharge the bills you refused to pay. Best of luck to you. It's been two years now and I live rent free in your head. That makes me very happy. Tony" Yes Mr. Turner, you are in my head still. I have not worked since you took advantage of me and my family. I am fighting for disabilities. I struggle to put food on the table for my wife and our pets. Not all of us are as privileged as you to move on from thousands of dollars like you are. Tony and Nancy rushed us for the $5,000 payment and took over two weeks to give us the starting paperwork to know what information they needed. We never signed any agreement or retainer and we had to call or e-mail every day to get information about what they needed (Also because they take their time responding). Nothing was clear from the start, and when you called and emailed to ask questions, Nancy and Tony became agitated and angry. They didn't want us as clients anymore because WE ASKED TOO MANY QUESTIONS! It's really ridiculous on so many levels. He and the office don't provide you with the necessary information on what is needed for them to get the process going, and then they get upset when you ask questions regarding what is needed. The icing on the cake was that after parting ways, the office still tried to charge us over $1,600 for their "time." When you hire a bankruptcy attorney, you hire them for the job, not hourly. They got frustrated with questions and now want to try and charge their clients for their "time." WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ATTORNEY!
