Walker as the attorney to handle my case. The office was nice, the personnel friendly. This should have only taken about 6 months and no more than $5,000. After my initial $2,500 retainer, things were moving slowly, and probate documents were not sent to me until August 8, 2022. A month or so later I kept calling to find out the status of my case. Ms. Walker was never available, and her assistant would say she would ask Ms. Walker and get back with me. I would have to call several times and received the voicemail most of the time with no response. I finally became frustrated not getting any response and started emailing. Same issue they were not responding promptly, and I would have to send follow-up emails. When I did get a call back there was always an excuse about personal issues coming up and she would get to my case soon. Below is the email I sent to Ms. Walker and her assistant on November 17, 2023. I am very disappointed in your service! The only time I hear from you is when you are billing me. I have sent several emails and called several times with no response, or you will check into it and call me back. I work with Attorneys on a daily basis in the U.S. and other countries and have never had these many issues. I chose your firm so I could separate my professional business from my personal business. On my initial call we discussed it would cost about $5,000 to get this settled. We are $13,500 later and the house issue is still not resolved. I need to know if there is enough money in the account to settle this case and what happens if I don't have anymore money? Ms. Walker left the firm on September 30, 2024, Edwards and Edwards assigned another attorney. The new attorney moved forward in a timely manner since I told her there was no more money. The final sets were taken in May of 2025, almost $20,000 later, and a very large lien that is more than the house is worth. If the case had been handled in a timely manner it would have saved me money, time and the lien would not be hanging over my head. I was nothing but a billable hour!

I entered into an…read moreagreement with him on 8-19-2022 to represent me in a divorce proceeding and gave him an initial check for $5000.00 that would cover us through mediation. Nineteen days later, 9-07-22, wife not served yet and he already needs another $507.00 for additional funding, whatever that is. This should have been a trigger to me. I told him before the agreement that serving my wife may be a little difficult because she is not likely to open the door if she doesn't know who is calling. He responded saying "don't worry, not a problem, we have other means". On November 30, an additional 84 days later, he told me he was having her served by the police and he was paying the police $40 "OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET". Wait a minute, what happened to the $5500 I gave you? Finally, after 6 months and a number of phone calls later, she still had not been served. I then made the decision to fire Bozo Beckus. What a waste of time and resources he was. He told me he would return $2400 and only charge me $3100. Mind you, she was never served. Once he has your money it is a one way street. He has it, not much you can do. Be careful with his contract as it is obviously written in his favor. Be innovative, add your language, perhaps something in your favor, an out if he is not performing. If he objects, that is a red flag.

We hired this firm in September looking to get a child support order written up. At the advising of Mr. Nicols we agreed to also file a child custody order and were told we would pay a flat fee because it would save us money. We paid up front, (big mistake). They REFUSED to answer me by email, they would only talk to me over the phone, and they never were available when I called. There was a point in time that they didn't respond to me for almost a month. I finally heard back from them when they were asking for an additional deposit for mediation. The entire time I was working them I had little to no idea what was happening with my case. I was so left in the dark I actually had to call other attorneys to try to understand why there was a hold up with my case. Its only then I was informed that the state of Florida didn't even have jurisdiction over custody of my children, (My children and I live in North Carolina) Because of this the case would have been dismissed and all the time and money we invested was for no reason. Now we are at a stalemate with this firm. After abruptly having a new lawyer assigned to the case, I was belittled and basically yelled at by my new attorney Winnie after I let her know I knew they filed the paper work incorrectly. We requested to drop the custody part of the case and continue to file for support since that was the only thing Florida could actually do. Shortly after this conversation I was sent paperwork to dismiss the case and was told there was nothing more they could do for me. I called Winnie repeatedly and finally was able to talk to her only for her to tell me I said I didn't want to pursue the case anymore and she was done representing me. So now here I am, out all this money because this fraudulent firm took on a case they had no jurisdiction to take and my children still do not have child support. I had to talk to numerous lawyers and pay consultation fees just to understand what was going on because this firm was so incompetent. It's funny because every Jacksonville attorney I talked to had heard of Nicols and had nothing good to say about them whatsoever. Stay away from from Nicols and yourjacksonvillelawyer.com. It was one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had.

I called her at 4:30 pm and she didn't answer the phone. She called me right back and missed her call. I called her immediately the first thing I said, I'm sorry I missed your call. She responded, "Noo, you called me first and I returned your call". I simply meant that I didn't pick up her call in time and missed it. But she had to have the last word. Whatever! Then, she says twice, with a louder voice, "Where are you calling?, where are you calling"? with a rude tone. She sounded like a 70 year old granny. An angry woman who has had a long rough life... Then, I proceeded to mention that I live in Jacksonville but I have a phone number with an area code from another state and we moved on. "WHAT'S YOUR QUESTION?, what's your question?" in the same rude manner. When I'm asking the question, instead of listening, she started speaking and would not let me finish. She immediately assumed the worse and said to me, quote "I have people who want to do this all the time" What a f**** bit**. "I have 37 years of experience..." Who gives a f**** if you have donde this job for 50 years or longer? That does not give you the right to be unprofessional and rude to people. Learn some manners! If she doesn't have experience with international adoption, then it's fine. I called her to ask if my matter would be best handle by an Adoption Attorney or by an Immigration Lawyer. But she is not even capable of holding a conversation like a normal human being without assuming the worse and assuming like I'm everybody else. I literally had to talk over her to get a few words out and called her the 'b' word and hung up on her because she wouldn't shut up. What a horrible human being! Then, she has the nerve to still write me a text message after I hung up, quote: "Good afternoon, I'm very sorry that you do not like the information that I provided to you. You can confirm the information with an international adoption attorney. I have 37 years experience and I've done hundreds of adoptions. I know the law and I advised you of the law. You were provided information free of charge no consultation no appointment was necessary. If you want to sit down and talk about all of the details you're welcome to do so, but you need to schedule a consultation. Based on what you advised me, that the child is with his parents, you can not adopt him. There is no need for you to spend money or the time to schedule and pay for a consultation. I was attempting to assist you. You called me for free advice. Then you called me a bitch. Who's the rude one here?" You didn't like the information I provided you. You have no shame! NO, you were extremely rude who didn't even let me speak for a few seconds and assumed that I'm like everyone else. What I did is called you out on the spot and called you the b word because you wouldn't stop talking. I just defended myself of your attacks AND that's why I hung up on you because you showed unprofessionalism. Something I have never experienced in my life from an attorney. She also had the nerve to say that I didn't pay for a consultation. Noone pays for a 60 second phone call consultation. Because that's the time you spent with me over the phone. 60 seconds of rudeness. I am glad I didn't pay you a dime. Then, when I responded that I will review her on Google she threatened me. See screenshots of her last long message she sent me. There are other reviews from people who have had the same experience with her. I did read all her reviews that she has been rude before, but I took a shot and ignored them. It's my fault for ignoring the red signs. I HOPE EVERYONE WHO READS MY REVIEW KNOWS HOW RUDE SHE IS AND SHOULD NEVER HIRE HER SERVICES.
