I hired the firm because I wanted experienced legal representation during an extremely difficult time. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling frustrated, unsupported, and ultimately led me to seek new representation. Communication was the biggest issue throughout my case. I frequently had to initiate contact for updates, leaving voicemails and sending emails that often went unanswered for extended periods. Rather than feeling represented, I felt like I was managing my own case. I was the one consistently updating the firm after appointments, forwarding work status reports, communicating information from the insurance adjuster, and repeatedly asking for a strategy and direction for my case. The most concerning part of my experience involved my surgery. After retaining the firm in late February, I was repeatedly told they intended to transfer my care to one of their preferred orthopedic physicians. I fully cooperated and continued treating with my current physician because I was specifically instructed to continue treatment until they successfully placed me with another doctor. Weeks turned into months. Despite repeatedly asking for updates and a timeline, I was never evaluated by one of their orthopedic specialists before my scheduled surgery. I continually asked what the plan was, when I would be seen, and what I should expect moving forward. I never received a clear answer. Then, the day before my scheduled surgery, after waiting more than two months while relying on the firm's direction, I was advised not to proceed with the surgery. At that point, I had no appointment with another surgeon, no replacement physician had examined me, and no alternative treatment plan had been arranged. I was essentially being asked to postpone a medically necessary surgery indefinitely without any certainty as to when I would actually receive treatment. That was simply not a reasonable position to put a client in. I ultimately chose to proceed with surgery because I had already waited months while trusting the firm's guidance, my condition continued to deteriorate, and delaying surgery without another physician or treatment plan in place was not something I could responsibly do. Only afterward did I learn that the physician they intended to transfer me to ultimately would not assume my care following surgery. I also later learned there had been issues identifying an appropriate orthopedic specialist. These were developments I believe should have been communicated much sooner rather than after months had already passed. Throughout my case, I repeatedly asked basic questions such as: * What is the overall strategy? * What is the next step? * When will I actually be seen by another physician? * What should I expect moving forward? Far too often, those questions required repeated follow-up before I received any response. I understand that workers' compensation cases are complex and that attorneys cannot control every aspect of medical treatment. However, clients should be able to expect consistent communication, timely guidance, and a clear plan. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Ultimately, I lost confidence that my case was being handled proactively. I made the difficult decision to seek new representation because I felt I needed a firm that would communicate more effectively, provide clear guidance, and actively advocate for my medical care instead of leaving me to navigate critical decisions on my own. I sincerely hope Perez Law improves its communication and client management. No injured worker should feel like they are carrying the burden of managing their own case while also trying to recover from a serious injury.

We are older adults who were rear-ended in our compact car by a huge truck. Our shock and our subsequent pain were extensive, such that we needed several different medical providers for an extended period of treatment. Fernando, and his brother / fellow attorney, Joel Brito, located highly qualified providers willing to accept us as patients on a lien. We were never pressured by anyone to "hurry up and recover." We had the option of interacting with Fernando by phone and/or through online meetings; this flexibility was very helpful to us. We were treated with empathy and respect by Fernando and his Staff, who also treated our providers with respect and appreciation, leading to an eventual settlement acceptable to all. Going forward, my wife and I hope to be free from any/all traffic collisions; however, if we should need legal representation for any future personal injuries, we would immediately call the Law Office of Attorney Fernando Brito, Jr.

Michael was not only amazing throughout the entire process but also took the time to explain every detail, ensuring I understood the ins and outs of my case. He kept me in the loop and always got back to me within a reasonable amount of time for someone so busy. I almost didn't file the case but after speaking with him and hearing that he believed I should be fairly compensated for the pain that I had to go through I decided to take a leap and do it. From the beginning, Michael handled all of my doctor's appointments and paperwork with efficiency. His ability to communicate the pros and cons of each decision I faced was invaluable, and he provided solid advice on what he believed to be the best course of action. My case lasted around a year and a half, during which I received an initial settlement offer of approximately 20/25k. Despite receiving treatment from a chiropractor and Dr. Caligouri, along with a PQME ruling 100% fault to my workplace, the insurance company remained adamant about the original offer. At the time I was dealing with a lot of anxiety in general but especially about this case so I wanted to settle but was not going to take 25k. After a thorough discussion over a Zoom call, Michael was able to significantly increase the settlement offer. I ultimately decided to accept the settlement and handle further medical procedures through my own insurance, which turned out to be a good thing. I found out that I had a pre-existing condition, unknown to me, which could have complicated matters further and drawn out the case longer than I would like even though the Job was the reason that I was having the pain. As far as any negatives, It was a little difficult to meet because he works in Orange County and I live in San Diego. But most communication is through phone and you only need to meet up once maybe twice. He does take a lot of time over the phone to explain everything, which was important to me because I tend to forget things easily and ask the same question two maybe even 4 times and tbh I didn't even want to meet in person too much. Between work and school and doc appointments a phone call was enough. He takes the standard % for workers comp lawyers. Michael Yap was an amazing choice that I would make again but hopefully won't need to.

What impressed me most was the personal attention she provided. That level of professionalism and dedication is rare. Heather was cordial, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. It was obvious from our first meeting that she is a true estate planning specialist, not a "cookie-cutter" trust attorney simply filling in templates. She tailored everything to my family's specific needs and made sure I fully understood every decision. Creating a living trust can seem overwhelming, but Heather made the entire process seamless and stress-free. If you're looking for an attorney who is experienced, trustworthy, and genuinely invested in protecting your family's future, I wholeheartedly recommend Heather Lynn Law.
