Provided an in-depth summary with evidence. Scheduled a phone call with Attorney at 11:30 a.m. (09/23/25) Attorney was late calling me for the scheduled appointment. It seems like his firm has a "TIME MANAGEMENT" issue. Can you imagine having to file by a certain deadline and, because they lack "TIME MANAGEMENT" abilities, now your case is screwed. The Attorney didn't listen to the facts and articulation of said facts. He was purely stuck on the fact that the employer is a governmental entity. He claims to care about doing the right thing but lacks a courage to do so. I can't imagine being an Attorney then being a complete coward of a human being. During the call he admitted he didn't know how to argue and would lose a standard employment law argument. What? Then why are you claiming to specialize in Employment Law if you heavily implied that you don't know and are a quitter. You have people's livelihoods in your hands. To admit/heavily imply you don't know how to defend a case tells me you DO NOT FIGHT FOR YOUR CLIENTS. You have an ethical obligation to give your clients the best defense possible. I'm so shocked by his "admission" that I'm considering contacting the state bar. That is insane! I've never heard an attorney flat out admit that before. I have better facts and evidence than 99% of the "purely speculative" cases he does accept. My sister hired Attorney Hatchett to represent our family during a very difficult time. Communication became an issue early on--when we asked questions about the status of the case, we were met with threats that she would stop working with us. After more than 18 months, only limited progress had been made. Following mediation, Attorney Hatchett scheduled our case for a trial, which was unnecessary. The court later canceled the trial because a trial was not required; the case should have been set for a prove-up instead. When we asked for clarification about why this occurred, Attorney Hatchett stated she would no longer work with us. Although she said she was withdrawing from the case, she never formally withdrew and stopped working altogether--after having been paid a substantial amount in legal fees. We ultimately hired a new attorney who immediately stepped in, charged a far more reasonable fee, and was surprised by how our case had been handled. The contrast in professionalism and integrity was significant. While Attorney Hatchett does have a capable support staff, based on our experience, we do not recommend this firm.

This last year they did not bother to file my guardianship papers, nor did they officially send any kind of paper that said they were severing the relationship. My advice to potential clients is to go out on your own with a private attorney with your injuries.
