I want to start off by saying I have been going here for years with the same stylist and my experience has always been great. The owner is also very nice. My normal stylist recently reduced her hours however, so I decided to go with a new stylist. This isn't the first time I've done this at Attractions, so I thought it would be fine. For reference, I walked in with a slightly overgrown wolf cut, and specifically requested to just cut it so that my hair would fall just to the bottom of my ears instead of my shoulders. I also specified that I like the weight and volume my hair had and that I just needed to get it cleaned up. I showed my new stylist, Chris, a photo of what my hair looked like the last time I got it cut to really hammer home the point. In that photo, my hair was down to my ears, with full volume and weight intact. Chris proceeded to shave my hair off. What I mean is that, instead of taking off maybe 2 inches to bring it to my bottom ear, he took off 4-5 inches, shaved the entire sides of my head off taking away all the volume and weight I loved, and then gave me, not a wolf cut, but basically a 1-inch version of a 90's middle part. Before showing me the cut, he apologized, and said he got distracted talking and cut it too short. I can't say I haven't been victim to a yapfest or two in my day, but it would take a lot for me to accidentally turn someone into a Walmart Leonardo DiCaprio from 1997. Its just unfortunate to walk in with 4 years worth of hair growth and walk out with none of it when you just wanted a clean up. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. RUINED MY HAIR FOR $500. if I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I spent $450 to get my hair to look like the reference photo and this is what it turned out like. stylist was very rude and started dying my hair before I even approved of the color so it was already too late. this was an entire paycheck and it turned out looking horrible. I wish I never went and just kept my natural hair instead. stylist also got dye all over my face and did not clean it up. I am stuck with black dye all over my cheeks and I haven't been going to class because it's so embarrassing . I called to issue a complaint and they didn't answer, then they said that the manager would call me back at 7. at 830 he called me back and after I explained the issue to him he said I could just "wipe the dye off with a wipe" and that "the issue is that I just didn't like it". I'm not sure where to go from here because I absolutely hate this hair. pictures provided for proof. in the pictures you can see the dye she left all over my scalp, the dye she left all over my face, then the reference photo vs my hair. my mom has done better job at dying my hair for free. I went into attractions hair and nail off of a friends word. I got what I believe to be the best person ever to cut your hair, Lauren Stewart was kind, patient, and best of all knew what she was doing. She took time to listen to what I wanted done with my hair, even though I didn't quite know myself what I wanted. She took over after I said "do what you think is best" and made my hair look phonemonial. She also reads the room extremely well, I like a more quiet haircut and without having to say or do anything she picked that up extremely quickly. Will be coming back to her in the future! read more

This is by far the worst place to get your nails done in the area. Some nail salons in the area are not as hygienic and hygiene is the only reason for the one star, i would put zero stars if i could. I came here about 3 weeks ago to get a new set of dip polish. Upon entering the door i stated my appointment time, service, and my name, to which the rude man at the desk said condescendingly, "HERE at ATTRACTIONS?". I am an adult and didn't need to be made to feel like i didn't belong. If i could go back in time i would turn around and leave right then. My nail technician took 30 min to get to me and i sat in acetone the whole time. She was inexperienced and did not even know how to apply a fake nail tip. After the laugher with her friends about how long my natural nails are she began the service. She was also bummed my nail service was scheduled and proceed to complain about how she could have been off 30 min ago. About halfway through she says she is almost out of base ( implying my nails were the cause of this). To which the same rude man came back there and proceeded to argue with the technicians about ordering. After paying 60$ for the worst looking nails i have even received I got to walk back to my car to a parking ticket because the limit is 2 hours and the service was an easy 2 and a half. This salon should make sure all services are done in 2 hours. I could not be dragged into this salon again, would prefer to walk around with bloody stumps for nails than any nails from here again. read more

a HORRIBLE experience. A woman named Jessica gave me a mani pedi. She couldn't find ANY of the stuff she needed so she was constantly getting up to find it. They were also out of a lot of product. She was texting while doing my toes and got up to find tums in the middle of it, leaving me in the chair for like 15 minutes. It took her a total of TWO HOURS to give me this mani pedi. Absolutely ridiculous. As for my hands, she pushed back my cuticles so hard they bled. It's been 5 days and they still hurt!! ALSO while I was getting my toes done, a male employee WALKED IN ON A WOMAN WHO WAS CHANGING IN THE TANNING BOOTH. So unprofessional. And the employees were super loud and obnoxious while I was there, ruining the atmosphere. I just wanted to relax and this experience completely stressed me out. Do not go here. Aveda and The Loft are much better. read more

I had never been to Attractions before and I had been wanting to dye my hair blondish for a long time. A friend goes here and had spoken highly of Gia I believe her name is. I have never dyed my hair before, so I was really nervous about the price, the outcome, etc.- especially because my hair is somewhat long and was very dark brown. But I called and was told the general price for balayages and that it is $20 per bleach bowl after that. I still didn't know what to expect price wise, because like I said, I had never had my hair dyed before and didn't know how many bowls it would take. But in the end, it was not expensive at all and I am so happy with the outcome! Chelsea did a great job- she gave me exactly what I wanted, was very knowledgeable and e things thoroughly, and was very sweet. I will definitely be coming back to Attractions and to Chelsea! read more

I recommend getting your hair done here but not your nails. For whatever reason hair service is fine here but definitely not nails. First time I went to get my nails done my nail tech couldn't take me until 30 minutes after my appointment. I went for a second time thinking that was a one time thing. However 20 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, my tail tech hadn't even shown up to the salon so I had to leave because I didn't have time to wait for her. Not going here for nails anymore I've been disappointed both times. read more

I just received the worst haircut I've ever had from this place. I told the lady cutting my hair my specifications and she completely ignored them and buzzed my entire head which makes me look almost bald. I looked better off before I got my hair cut and I genuinely hope she gets fired for this because I now have to wait weeks maybe even up to a month or two just to look presentable. read more

I went to get a full set of acrylics here after giving my nails a break, the girl was late, she kept arguing with me about the length saying that she couldn't go longer, the nail art was sloppy, I was there for 2, almost 3 hours, she didn't care about her next appointment having to wait, and then charged me $80 for a full set that I didn't want. I scheduled an appointment for both a bleach and a color, and specified what I was thinking over the phone (I wanted a dusty blue). When I got to the salon, I again specified the color, and they offered me a dark gray instead, claiming the color would last longer. $150 and four shampoos later, the color has completely faded (it's been about two weeks since the appointment). This has never been a problem for me, I have healthy hair that I've professionally bleached/dyed a few times, and it retains color wonderfully. Service was friendly enough, and the curl Stephanie gave me was cute, but I would strongly advise against going here for color. There's no way it's high-quality product. read more

I've got a big ass beard that I take pride in. It had reached the point of needing a little maintenance though & the barber shops were done taking clients for the day, so I hit the salon. I'm glad I did. I've gotten beard trims in big cities, such as LA & Nashville & I think the one I got here in Athens today may have been the best yet. So I had an appointment for 2:30 to get my nails done, and for my sister to get a pedicure. We came in 5 fives early and we're told there was a 30 min wait because the stylist was running behind. We said ok, but we're not given an apology for the delay. While we waited I decided to get a hair cut. The stylist wasn't very friendly and seemed more concerned about gossiping with her co-workers. So after my haircut, which took us till 3, we were told it would be another 15 mins for the nail appointment. Still no apologies. If you can't keep the appointments you book, at least give your customer an apology. Ridiculous. Customer service is more important than anything. And while waiting, all the girls running the place disappeared to the back for some reason. A gentleman walked in to be seen and was left waiting, he had to go find them to get help. Finally the girl who was going to do my nails came out and apologized for the wait. This lady was very nice and did an amazing job on my nails. However my sister wasn't able to get her pedicure. Apparently there wasn't anyone available other than the girl working on me. But when we left, some lady was getting a pedicure.... now someone could have been at lunch, but when we asked if there was still time for my sister's, we had been told no. You would think they would want your money and make sure the appointments that were originally booked were kept. Save your money, go else where read more

My sister got her nails done here and ended up getting MOLD on her finger. A couple months later, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I got my nails done there and got mold on my finger nails too. Manager didn't get back to me for a week. My sister and I both got ill because of this. read more

I am editing my review, because the original one was filtered for whatever reason. I went to attractions to get a shellac manicure after it was recommended to me by a friend. I called and scheduled an appointment which was simple enough, and only had to wait a couple of minutes before they took me back to begin my manicure. During my manicure, the technician cut my cuticle. I understand that this happens often so I wasn't too alarmed. The technician made a comment about it, laughed, and then continued. I was getting a french shellac manicure, so when she done, you could see blood from my cut under the nail polish. Two days after my manicure the shellac, which is supposed to last two weeks, chipped. I called and made an appointment at attractions to get my hair trimmed and my eyebrows waxed. When I showed up the day of the appointment, I was told that they did not have my name down in the books so I wouldn't be able to get my haircut. They were able to fit me in to get my eyebrows waxed, and the woman doing them did a good job. Before I left, I made an another appointment and I was given a reminder card. When I showed up for my second appointment, I was told again that my name was in the book. I showed them the appointment reminder card that they had given me, and was asked who I spoke to when I made the appointment. When I told the man at the front desk that he is the one that I scheduled the appointment with, he said I had to be mistaken. However, I was able to get my haircut as there was an opening. To say I wasn't pleased with the haircut would be an understatement. The stylist took 3 inches off of my hair when I asked to have half an inch taken off. I went to attractions to get my nails done and it was the worst hour and a half I have ever spent at a salon. the staff was rude, running late, and HORRIBLE. the disgraceful nail job made more sense after the girl doing my nails told me half way through that she wash't even a nail technician! She was a hair stylist!! I don't know about other people but when I go pay over $30 for a service, I expect the person to have been properly trained in whatever they are doing. Every time I leave Attractions, my hair looks great. I went there to get a haircut a couple years ago and the stylist did a good job with my hair. However, I didn't return because of the cold, unfriendly manner in which she interacted with me. When telling her that I was growing my hair out to eventually get a soft perm, she demeaningly corrected me, explaining that I should never do that because it is so damaging to the hair. I just recently went again because Standard Salon and Infiniti were completely booked, and with a new stylist, my experience was the same. She knew what she was doing but she was so impersonal and rough with my hair, I feared to find a bleeding scalp on arrival home. Somehow, she turned potential complements (like my hair is thick, and healthy or really long) into criticisms. I asked her to cut my hair wet because I've noticed I don't get split ends as quickly, and she utterly refused. My hair looks wonderful, so competency isn't the problem here. Customer service and knowing how to be personable most definitely is. I will never go back. read more
