I went to Brian when I lived in Slidell but I moved and I am back. Brian did our hair when he first started out in the little shop on Robert Road. It has been a long time because it was 1992 and I hope that Brian is still working or has he retired? I loved the way he always had my hair exactly like I wanted it and he did mine and my daughters hair when she got married and her brother got married several weeks later. I asked for a specific haircut. What I got was rushed and nothing like what I requested. I asked for a specific hair color (photos and details provided), and instead walked out with super blonde, yellow, patchy, unblended CHUNKS in my hair -- not even close to what I asked for. Afterward, I contacted Brian directly by phone and text to give him the benefit of the doubt since he said he wasn't feeling well that day. He had other people working on my hair instead of doing it himself, and when he finally did step in, he was clearly rushing. He was literally slapping bleach all over my head with zero blending, which explains why I ended up with highlights worse than early 2000s Y2K stripes. I went back to get it "fixed," and the fix was a joke. He just threw toner and brown dye on my hair -- again, no blending, no technique, nothing. It honestly felt like he was just trying to dye everything back to brown to cover his mistake. I left with orange roots and green highlights, and he looked me dead serious and said, "It looks so good!" and asked if I liked it. No extra charge... as if that made up for the $250 I already wasted. I haven't had my hair done in 7 years. I'm a stay-at-home mom, and this was a big deal for me -- something I did for myself. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed and ended up having to fix my hair and dye it dark at home on my own. So you can imagine how I feel right now Overall, this was a horrible experience. Rushed work, zero attention to detail, and zero accountability. I would not recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about their hair. read more

After calling around for a while, trying to find a salon that could take me for a cut and highlight, I found them on Yelp and I am so glad! What a cool little place this is. Not only is the stylist efficient but he genuinely cares about his clients and what they want. The little shittzu dogs welcomed me at the door (I love pets at businesses!). I got a beautiful cut! Just what I wanted! I got a cup of coffee while I waited in a real mug. The other clients who had been coming there for a while chatted me up and everyone made me feel welcome. I really do my research when it comes to hair. It's so important to get a good cut in the professional world, You have to look your best and put on your best face! After a week of reading reviews from different salons that covered an area fromNew Orleans to Baton Rouge, I found this place. I looked though the site and made an appointment. I showed up at this cute little hole in the wall salon. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and not pretentious like some of them can be. They were running behind but did not mind , after getting into a smock and getting a glass of wine, Brian came over and talked to me about my hair. I was a little worried. Every time I go to a new place its a 2-3 hour appointment with the hair stylist trying to figure out how to work with my hair. Most the time it ends up in either disaster or a mediocre cut that grows out horribly. Brian was friendly and understanding. I had brought in pictures of the style I was going for. He was able to see and understand what I was looking for and how it would work with my hair and face shape.With in an hour, he gave me the best cut I've had since I left San Diego 7 years ago! I was so thrilled with the cut that not only do I plan on being a regular, but I feel comfortable enough to schedule some color appointments. (I ALWAYS do my own color!!!) Thank you BRIAN!! While my gut wanted me to go for 1 star, I gave them a 2 for pity's sake. After having heard so many great things about Brian, with a leap of faith made an apt. I provided him with what I hoped to be my next cut and asked him for his opinion if it would suit my face, with a few modifications he agreed and we got started. He talked me into some highlights as well and that is how he started. Once he placed the chemical in my hair he said he would be back.... I had never died my hair before so timing was not something I knew anything about.... Meanwhile Brian LEFT, I saw him head out the door, get into a car and take off. Time when on, no Brian, no one checking on me. I finally found someone who was in shock that I was still there! She took the chemical off and I heard someone on the phone in the distance talking about me - l presume it was with him. He soon appeared and apologized and said he had asked one of the other staff to finish me up! When it came to the cut, he TRIMMED my hair and said he was done. I reminded him of the style we discussed, he took a few strands of hair and raised them over my head, did one snip with the scissors and he left again. Someone else came and styled my hair. The chemical had burned my hair and my 'cut' was something my 14 yr old could have done. I was in the shop for 2 hours and was treated with ZERO respect while my bill was over $200. NEVER again!
