The worst day of my life, I was picked up at the hospital not knowing they didn't except debit cards. The cab smelled terribly of cigarette smoke, the lady with long grey hair needs to be fired immediately!! She drove on every curb, evidently drunk!! I used to have good reviews for this company but now it's absolutely terrible it takes 20 years for a cab to come then the website to book a ride looks suspect I personally wouldn't put my card information on there for concern of identity theft plus the cabs need to be cleaned a lot of cabs smell like bad body odor. read more

Cab #1325 picks my elderly neighbor up he's not helpful to her at all she can barely see or walk I watched this man smoke a whole cigarette and not bothered once to help her or get her walker I personally did!! last week her put her groceries on the step and was hollering about a tip! It's so sad the way men treat elderly women my husband had to take her groceries in the house for her it's very sad and this company should hire men whom are not lazy and show empathy because we all have to get old 1 day! What I just witnessed from cab #1301 about made me furious and sick to my stomach. He another vehicle stopped. They got out and just started making out to where I honestly thought they were about to take it to the back seat. Cars had to go around slowly to avoid oncoming traffic. I have pictures to show everything stated here. Old Eastern ave and Erying Ave. Again, cab #1301. I know there is a lot of competition, but this was seriously disturbing that they would block traffic for a heavy makeout session. I have pics if you need them. read more

Quoted rates are a bit low - you'll almost certainly pay a few dollars more due to differing routes, but I won't hold that against them. Dispatch is impatient, but gets the job done. Quoted dispatch time was 5-10 minutes based on time of day; actual was 19 minutes (one trip) and well under 5 minutes (the return trip). Having heard poor things about the taxi service in this town, this is quite passable and worked for me when I needed it. For what it's worth, both trips were within 21237, so I can't speak to their service outside the area in which they're based. read more

I called on 2/17/20 to schedule a cab to pick me up at 9 am for a doctors appointment. It was 9 am and no cab. Called was informed they were running behind. My cab was on its was. I waited until 9:20. Called and canceled. Had to call my doctors office to cancel and reschedule my appointment. I will be using another cab company for now on. This is sad. I used to praise them for how good they were, but they've really gone downhill. They barely ever come. When i called, this lady answers and screams at someone in the back to turn that music off and then hangs up on me. I call back, she asks me where I'm at, and by the time she asks me where I'm going, she hangs up on me AGAIN. Old beat up cars, which are never clean, drivers that either smell of alcohol or cigarettes...or both. Dispatch is unable to give an accurate prediction of when you will be picked up. This is the reason I switched to Uber. At least I know when I will be picked up, and I know that I will be riding in a clean car. I won't have a rude driver and dispatcher that seems to think that passengers are lucky to get service. read more

My 20 year old niece was released from Franklin Square intoxicated and incoherent, they called this company to take her to an address that happened was not correct. Tried to call the company so we could get her home safe to be told, this is where we are taking her so you better get someone there. I asked what if it's an abandoned building are you just going to put her out while she's incoherent and doesn't know where she is. He told me yup! Told me I couldn't pay to have her taken to the correct address. Got extremely rude. I informed him I wasn't being rude with him so I'd appreciate it if he didn't become that way with me. He told me they Pyle be dropping her off at the address they were given and oh well if it's not a correct address not his problem. So you have an intoxicated incoherent female that who has no clue what address she is going to, her family has no idea where they are dropping her off at, and this "Family" owned company doesn't care about her safety. Rude Woman answered the phone only asked for my pick up and drop off location and then hung up before I could tell her I was going to pay with a card. This was my first experience calling this particular company. They didn't even ask for a contact number or told me when I should expect the cab. All I got is "Atwater. Where are you? Where are you going? Ok. *click*" very short and unprofessional. The poor guy drove all the way here just to tell me he doesn't take cards even though I did see a credit card machine in the car. It must have been broken. Not to mention I was trying to be at the train station by a certain time and called at least 30 minutes ahead. TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE AND ATROCIOUS SERVICE!!!!! At 8:30 this morning I ordered a cab to pick me up between 12:00 & 12:30 for a doctors appointment that was 5 minutes away by car. I waited outside, to save time, from 12:00 until 12:55. I called back & was told the cab was on it's way. At 1:55 I had to cancel the doctor's appointment. I also called the cab company to cancel the cab. Rude is a pleasant word compared to how I feel they treated me. Never again. At 78 years old this was just a bit much to forgive. read more

Tonight I had the worst experience with Atwater Cab since I began riding with them over a decade ago. The nightmare was the dispatcher - he said his name was Brian - who was rude, dropped the F-bomb twice and seems to be clueless about handling time calls. I called Atwater around 1 and placed a time call with Dina for 5 p.m. I called back at 4:50 to confirm that a cab was coming and a very angry "Brian" insisted on telling how he was left with 4 drivers and he didn't have anyone in Dundalk right now. I tried to remind him I wasn't at home (in Dundalk) but at work and my building was about to be locked, I would be standing outside (and completely alone). Brian didn't allow me to tell him those things, he yelled that I was preventing him from answering his phones, that people have places to go, but he can't get them there if he's stuck on the phone with me. Me - the person with the time call who ALSO had somewhere to go. Brian, for some reason, didn't view me as a real customer. As of 5:35 he still didn't have a cab on the way, so I called Jimmy's Cab. At 5:45 I was on my way home. I don't know how much the Atwater owners care about treatment of their customers; I hope someone speaks with Brian about how he communicates with their customers. Also, have someone teach him how to handle time calls. read more

We called Atwater Cab company on New Years Eve and were very happy. The dispatcher was very patient considering it was NYE. He said that they would have our cab to our destination in 20 minutes and they were actually there in 15 minutes. Driver was very friendly. I don't normally take cabs but the fare seemed reasonable to me. I would definitely recommend them. read more

Absolutely horrible and unprofessional. We called on a Saturday around midnight and were told we would have a cab soon but they weren't exactly sure when. We understood it was a Saturday night so it would take longer than normal. Called back ~30 minutes later and were told a cab came and waited outside for us and tried calling us then left...we were by the door and waiting 2 minutes after out initial call...no cab ever came...they lied. We were again told that our ride would be there as soon as possible. After another 30 minutes went by, I called again and was told "I'll get you a cab when I can get you a cab." They were very rude and could not even estimate a time. We decided to call a family member to pick us up instead, which took about 20 minutes. Still no Atwater cab the entire time we waited. read more

I called at 7 am and was told 5 minutes and I waited over an hour before I called a driver personally. Because I did this they have refused to pick me up and called Jimmy's cab and told them not to pick me up I am trouble. I have problems getting a cab with the early daylight dispatch lady cause when she works I never get a cab or I wait hours. I am a daily customer but they do not care about that evidently. I called early in the morning and scheduled a pick up for 5:30pm that evening. he cab showed up at 7. The driver who picked us up apologized and was very nice, even gave us his # and said to try him first, so I wouldnt have to wait in the cold with my daughter. Unfortunately he was busy, so I called the main #. The driver arrived after about 20 min, we went to put our stuff in the cab and he said "trunks open" so we put our stuff in. He then yells out, as we close the trunk, "it's broken, dont close it all the way" By this point the trunk is closed. We get to our house and the trunk wont open. He tells us there is nothing he can do and the only one who can open it is one of the owners. He then tells us "they may or may not be in tomorrow, because of the weather". He then drove off with all of our stuff in the trunk. ALL $200+ worth. Of course I called the office, but was told the same thing. If I dont hear from them by noon tomorrow I will be calling the cops first and a lawyer second. read more
