We ordered a lunch crepe with ham and asparagus in a creamy sauce and it was served with a garden salad and a second crepe with smoked meat, pickles, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar, salad and french fries. We chose the sweet batter. The alternate is a buckwheat batter. Our crepes might have been overcooked, as it was hard and on the dry side. Other diners that ordered a sweet crepe, those appeared to be light and very airy. The food is average and I did not have the experience indicated by other diners reviews. Our lunch came to $67 for two. There was another lunch special written in chalk posted on another wall, that seemed to be a really good deal and tasty, until it was too late as we had already ordered. It was a soup, a crepe for lunch, a mini sweet crepe for dessert and a glass of wine $37.99. So look around the restaurant before you order. Strolled along the neighbourhood on Saturday morning for breakfast. The restaurant was quite busy so thought that the food must be good. Seats indoor were all full so we sat outside. Ordered the Assiette du Brenton which is pretty much a big breakfast - comes with fried potatoe, ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, meat pie, beans, toast, crepe and fruits. It was very filling as it came with a variety of food! The meat pie and bean were unique, however tasted mediore. We also ordered the classic breakfast with two eggs. We opted for the bacon for the protein - and it came with a huge amount of bacon. Also came with fried potatoes, toast and crepe. All their meals came with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Crazy. We walked in an hour before closing and eventually a guy walks up and tells us to wait. 15 minutes later nothing. We followed out a couple who were actually sitting at a table that nobody came to serve them,so they left. As did another couple waiting behind us. There was staff but they seemed to be hiding. I'm still here and I wanted to say this is a very good restaurant for breakfast and you will definitely enjoy the food that they will serve you. The ambience is great . We got two omelettes and chocolate, strawberry crêpe, and a classic breakfast and all of them were so good .Pierre-Olivier is great and he checked on us every five minutes to make sure that we don't need anything and he kept filling up our coffee, which is very important to me to have a warm coffee. The restaurant gave me a mom and pop vibe and it seemed they were short staffed as they didn't check up on tables and I didn't get my water until asking again. In terms of food, I tried their Crepe with Banana, Chocolate, and Whipped Yogurt. The meal came with a choice of a drink too and I chose Hot chocolate. What a gem! The ladies who work here are efficient and warm. The food was great. I would very much suggest the sweet crepes. We (myself and wife) were quickly escorted to our table and then a bottle of cold water was provided. The French onion soup we both ordered was delivered hot and was the best French onion soup I have ever consumed. My crepe consisted of crabmeat and asparagus. The bottom portion of the asparagus was tough and stringy, but the top was properly cooked. It was a very pleasantly meal that was well prepared and presented. Right in the heart of St. Jean street in Quebec City we found this charming little restaurant called Au Petit Coin Breton. Their service was extremely slow but the crepes were very good and different from the usual crepe fare. Not that that's bad in itself. These crepes were very thin and crispy. We had just a regular crepe with lemon sauce (the Lorient) and a crepe with fresh pear and ice cream (the Mont St-Michel). I further drizzled the latter with a very light maple syrup. Delicious. Our waitress was dressed in traditional garb just like you see in the picture below. Prices were good, but the service lacked a bit. Still I'd return. It's a great spot to rest your feet after a day hiking all over Quebec. My only complaint would be the plastic tables and chairs.
