There were things that were clean. The kitchen area, linens, and bathroom are cleaned by a very nice lady who came every day to check on us. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything but food. Microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, slow cooker, electric skillet, pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, full size fridge and even ice in the freezer. The well water tasted great! The beds were made up nicely with extra pillows and blankets around. The bathroom has a shower stall, make sure no one in the cabin uses the water while you're in the shower. There were also plenty of towels, standard wrapped cups and soap that boasted no animal products were used. The grounds were very quiet. There is wifi, but it was fairly spotty. Good enough for email and social networking, but I don't think streaming would be possible. Owners are pleasant, accommodating of late check in and out. However. SPIDERS. and spider webs in EVERY CORNER. There was only one window that had a whole screen, the rest had mosquito and spider inviting holes. The bed were painful. Saggy, soft, but no odor. There are no grounded plugs. The "Beacon and Bridge" mentioned in the website is a gas station with an impressive liquor selection.

DO NOT SELL THROUGH THIS AUCTION! I am absolutely devastated at the results I've received by…read moreselling a large chunk of my mom's estate of antiques and original artwork through this auction. I've sold items through auctions before and my family has a long history in antiques and art, so I know the number of good quality items that I had. There was ruby glass, depression glass, pieces of Hall and McCoy, plus many professionally framed original paintings and more. My items should have easily sold for much, much more. I am also extremely upset that they grouped some of the original paintings together, and did not sell them off individually. My results from them selling more than 7 boxes of antiques and collectibles, more than 5 large framed original paintings, numerous other framed pieces of art, a box of embroidered antique linens, a vintage American flag, a small handcrafted wooden bench and more came to a total of only $69. Never in my worst nightmare could I have imagined results this horrible. I wish other sellers had posted their results from selling at this auction, as I would never have considered it if I had known this horrible of an outcome might be possible. Writing this as a warning to anyone else considering selling estate items at this auction. There's a welcoming environment in the shop; they're encouraging towards everyone; experienced (certified) trainers to help you get out there and have fun....which is the primary reason to cross country ski. Most everyone who skis the Traverse City area Vasa (in Acme), know Forbush is worth the drive when TC conditions have deteriorated.

Impressively roller-coaster trails for a very un-Michigan hill experience, and a hilariously funky…read morelodge that used to be a house. There are flat trails, and open trails, but the really unique aspect of Forbush Corner is the wealth of twisty, repeatedly-up-and-down trails like Rollercoaster, Badlands, and Li'l Coaster. Grooming is good for classic, and reasonable for skate --- the day I visited, half the system had been freshly groomed (though less solid than some places do skate), and there was 1.5" of fluff on the other half. Skating the fluff worked fine, but might not be for everyone. The western trails get fairly close to I-75, but there was very little road noise the day I visited. The lodge is an old house, with a wood stove in the living room, a variety of tiny extra bathrooms scattered around, and a row of tractor-seat bar stools in the kitchen. There's a tureen of soup ("Soup not prepared in a commercial kitchen") and an honor-system money jar for Gatorade, hot chocolate, and granola bars. There's a reasonable stock of Madshus skis and boots, but the current staff isn't as familiar with the details as Dave Forbush himself was reputed to be. Remember to sign out at the end of your day, so they know you made it back safely!
