La Salon Richmond - Reception view from the balcony (where cocktail hour was held)

We had a mixed experience working with this company to plan our wedding at their Salon Richmond,…read moreand felt it was important to share. On the positive side, the space is stunning and the food was excellent - both were highlights for us. However, our experience on the planning side raised several concerns. Communication and expectations were unclear from the outset. We initially believed we would be working with one team member, but later learned that a different person would be managing our wedding, which was not clearly communicated and created confusion early on. Throughout the process, we found the planner's approach to be rigid and not particularly collaborative. We were open to guidance, but often felt that our preferences were dismissed in favor of doing things a specific way. During our tasting, for example, some of our menu selections (chosen directly from the venue's own offerings) were criticized as not being "classy" or "elegant," which felt inappropriate and unnecessarily condescending. There were also multiple instances that felt unprofessional, including meetings starting late and recurring interruptions during scheduled time together. We also encountered a significant issue regarding payment transparency for a vendor booked through the venue. A deposit we paid was invoiced as a payment toward the band, but was not fully applied as such, and this was not disclosed at the time of payment. The matter was only resolved after escalation. While it is clear that the team is capable of executing events, our experience did not reflect the level of professionalism, transparency, or care that is essential when planning a wedding. A wedding is not just another event, and the planning process requires a level of respect, communication, and client focus that we did not consistently experience here. Due to these concerns, we ultimately chose to move forward with a different venue, as we did not feel confident continuing with the planning process. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this venue for weddings. Couples should proceed with caution and ensure they have a clear, documented understanding of vendor payments, responsibilities, and expectations before committing!

All of my invites were satisfied with the basic menu that La Sirene provided and offered. *Food* : The food was excellent, everyone including my wedding planner said she was impressed with the quality of the food it's price, we're talking high quality here, don't let yourself be impressed by the low price, it's really a great menu. The service was amazing, their team was impressively good, we had about 180 invites, and no complaints all : the team was fast, at a certain point in time on of the staff members wanted to change my platte because "he heard" that I wasn't satisfied, theses guys are amazing, I was more than satisfied. That was my experience, the Banquet La Sirène made our wedding day exceptional, in terms of price and service, to me this team and room is unbeatable. I would recommend their staff and team to anyone who would want to get married in their reception hall.Le banquet La Sirene delivers high quality food and service in my opinion. Presentation is nice but clearly doesn't have the same elegance you'd find in bigger halls. The place is VERY busy, with multiple parties going on and staff moving to and back. Not much of an area to hang out in or let the kids run loose. There's a bar in the lobby. Food was decent. Good soup, good salad but the main meal of pork tournedos was bland and forgettable. Pricing here is economic I understand but no reason to have a main meal to miss it's mark with such a limited menu. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Drinks from the bar was on-point.

The service, I must say, was by far spectacular and the most notable element of this venue. Everything else I would describe as subpar. My sister paid an exorbitant price for the venue, the decorations, the outdoor set up for the ceremony, the 4 course meals and the open bar for her 170 guests and wedding party. Despite the high price tag, I honestly have to say if I was my sis: I'd be pissed about everything except the service (which as I mentioned before was 110% perfect). The venue and decorations had too many imperfections for the price she paid. The tables were ok but missing a fork here, a knife there, a spoon here etc... Again unacceptable for the price she paid. The ceremony set up: half assed! The red carpet was shoddily rolled out and had bumps causing my other sister to trip on her way leading the bridesmaids down the aisle. Not kool at all, the rest of us 7 bridesmaids meandered carefully to avoid the same misfortune. The food was so bland, watery and dull! The pork option wasn't nearly as bad as the chicken but it was still meh at best. The red wine offered was ok. Not more, not less. To finish on a positive note, though, the gentleman that lead the event, staff wise, was an absolute blessing and he helped my sister feel relaxed and that he had everything under control, 5 stars to him! Overall I guess if u really have to use this place it's not terrible. But there are definitely better and nicer options for ur $.
