Try to use the few spaces in the lot on the street. There is no parking on the dirt road between the house and gardens. The gardens are beautiful in mid-summer (now). She has a wide selection of flowering plants and herbs. All of them are selected for the cold climate of northern Vermont. It is a beautiful walk to just walk through the gardens. If you go back out to the dirt road you can cross the bridge (2 minute walk) and visit the Lilly garden on the other side. When they are all in bloom, it is an explosion of color. Be sure to check out the river banks and slopes. Those are a mixture of Vermont wild flowers and flowers that Kate planted. Most of the plants are for sale. She will dig plants and sell them if she doesn't have them in pots.

In our area they literally brushed off dirt and debris on stained cushions in front of us, and expected us to sit there in our white linens which visibly stained my partner's pants. It turned out there were a number of tables that were available. It felt like we were being isolated into a colored section as people of color. They then had the audacity to ask for a full price and a sizable tip for a really awful experience. A place to avoid. Does not make the green book.
