This past weekend I brought in a pair of garden shears I thought I'd lost and it turned out I left them in the garden all fall and winter. They were rusted beyond recognition and I was so embarrassed to bring them to Scott to see what was possible. Scott smiled as I showed him my buried treasure and asked if I had a few minutes to wait. With that he disappeared into his workshop with the rusted shears. Not even 10 minutes later Scott reappears with an even bigger smile. The shears are good as new and we both wish we had a before picture ( see the after picture below). So there we have it friends. Another memorable moment in my Vanderhoof Hardware journey. Selection is good for a local place, though more niche items may require a trip to a larger place. Importantly, they do not carry much of anything in terms of wood and lumber, though they have a decent power tool section, including Craftsman, Milwaukee, and Stihl. Painting, plumbing, hand tools, grilling, house care, yard care, and screws are examples of the areas they cover pretty well. Value is good as well, matching or beating that of places like Lowes or HD, and Ace is a local mainstay.
