Im a local, so Auburn Gas and shop, is a regular pit stop for me and I have many great memories just conversing and some times conversating with the clerks. They hire good, friendly people and in addition to having great customer service, and--in my experience--it attracts pretty friendly customers, generally. They nearly always have the best prices, free coffee and soda with fillup and they used to be Open 24/7... Maybe when the pandemic hangover clears up everyone will be up late again. I've used the omnigender restrooms, and they've been clean, functional and fully stocked. So you gas-up at, like I said, one of the least expensive filling stations anywhere, and the pump doesn't print a receipt. Happened to me, too. Did I dock the business a star or two, despite powering through the state with about a five-spot in gas savings? No. I entered the minimart and asked the cashier for a credit receipt, and he printed it in an instant. I've been going to this gas station for 4 years. Over the last year it's gone downhill significantly. Out of 20 or so pumps only half of them work. The last 2 times I was there I could not fill up my tank because the there was not a pump available that was working. I went in to speak to the staff and they said all of their pumps work it's just that they're not chip enabled. I was not trying to use a chip I was swiping my card. In the Auburn Journal on 12/13/18, there's two 'Crime Reports' in the sheriff's log stating that customers cards got skimmed at 13380 Lincoln Way which is the Gas and Stop station. We usually get gas at the Arco across the street when we are in town but the lines are always long and there aren't many pumps so we decided to give gas and shop a try. Not only was the price just as cheap as Arco, the lines weren't as long and there are more pumps. Be sure to look around back, we didn't realize there were a bunch more pumps with no wait! read more

Major kudos to Derrick Rose, employee at Gas and Shop and an unknown gentleman in a pickup truck! I pulled in today for gas and when I turned off the engine, I noticed smoke coming out from under my hood. Getting out, I said, "Oh, that's not good." The gentleman in the pickup truck opposite me came over and asked me to pop the hood. Derrick came out from the office to see if he could help. They agreed it was an oil leak that had dripped on the manifold and determined what type of oil I needed for my car as I was unsure. Derrick selected the correct oil, filled it, checked the oil again, and even pumped my gas for me. When I thanked him, he said he just hoped that someone would take care of his wife if she were in the same position. He also helped an older woman with something in her trunk and another customer having trouble with her atm card. His help was very much appreciated and he sent me on my way feeling much better. Do not use a debit card or atm card at the two gas stations on Lincoln way in auburn. The one next to Foresthill exit by McDonald's. Or the one closest to long horn meat company. Card skimmers just hit me along with other people and wiped out my checking account. read more

One of only two places I buy gas in Auburn, use Gas Buddy to find it, use the Lincoln Way (120 exit) heading eastbound 80, makes it easier to get into the station . Cheapest gas in Auburn, fill up here before heading over the mountains. They charge extra for credit cards but so do most stations in Auburn, use your ATM card, it is the same as cash. They have lots of new pumps in the back. read more

Not recommending this place because of the employees, like other Yelp reviewers have mentioned. Signs on street indicated a gas price and then once pumping gas, gas was approximately 11 cents more. I get it that gas prices change but the street price should be changed before the pump prices. It is a fair way to do business. When that was pointed out, employee gave a bunch of bs reasoning. Was then told if I don't like it, don't bother coming back. I recommend AM-PM across the street. So yeah, I won't be coming back. You shouldn't either. read more

While the prices are reasonably good, there is cheaper gas in the area. My problem has more to do with the employees. Make sure to check your receipts before leaving as I've been charged for cigarettes that I sure as hell didn't buy. read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE. FREE COFFEE AND ABUSE TO WELCOME THEIR PATRONS .... I visit Auburn Gas and Shop tegularly. This morning after getting fuel I pulled away with the nozzle in the tank. Responsibly I went inside and reported it to the manager, who is alwayy s friendly and askkes me for my chicken eggs. She yelled at me very unprofessionally and her son in law walked outside to every customer and said what an idiot I was for pulling away, and he is tired of people pulling away. So I got the brunt of it all. Hate to tell him but perhaps they should look for another line of business. This is unfortunately a common occurrence for a gas station. I again went to gas up one of my 3 vehicles today and again there were no water or paper towels to clean my windows. I have spoken to your manager about this before but he is doing nothing about this ongoing problem. Their gas is cheap. So is the attitude. If a pump printer is broken, odds are it will still be broken the next time you come in. Some of the attendants have a real attitude. Others are nice. Last week, I mentioned that the pump I usually use had a non-functioning printer. They gave me a receipt inside. The next time I came in a week+ later, it was still broken. I mentioned it was still broken and a sour old man behind the counter said 'USE ANOTHER PUMP'. No 'Sorry sir, we'll get it fixed as soon as possible'. Terrible Terrible Terrible GAS!! Today is 5/4/16. My car has completely stopped running after I filled up at The Auburn Gas & Shop on 4/11/16. My car has been in the shop awaiting repair in Colfax and my mechanic had to remove the gas tank. The gas is so bad (I have a sample which I brought to show the manager, K1). The gas has brownish sludge which separates in the gas!! At first he thought there was water in the gas, but after testing, there was something other than gasoline in my tank, and not diesel! I'll have a huge bill for the repair including new fuel injectors too, because the gas "plugged" them up. I've got a call into the law office where the "Owner",is supposed be, and the message tells me his "mailbox is full". I have left many messages to an associate in that office but no one has called me back!! Looks like I'll have to get Kurtis from Channel 13 on the phone!!!!! read more

Im 70 and disabled and yes gas prices r normally as low as arco but if the crazy employees r there id pay twice to go somewhere else. Hes always cleaning and putting customers first. He cleans inside---he cleans outside. He really cares abt the place.
