Turns out the problem was NOT with the clutch but with a small handful of nylon parts in the shifter, which they inexplicably failed to replace. Cost for the kit online? About $90. Their price to replace? Over $1,000. Yes, you read that correctly. Reading other reviews, it appears that Hawthorne practically gives the cars away so they can feed their highly-profitable "service" labyrinth. Sales picks up the phone right away, but good luck getting anyone on the phone for "service." My advice? Either find another service shop through Costco or buy a different brand. My 2001 TT is a blast to drive - when it works - but a very expensive and time-sucking toy to maintain. read more

One reason I chose Audi over BMW was its reputation for customer service. Over the course of this week, I called Audi Hawthorne five separate times trying to schedule a simple service appointment. Each time, I was told someone from the service department would call me back. No one ever did. I was transferred, placed on hold, disconnected, and repeatedly assured that I would receive a return call. Despite speaking with multiple employees, I never received a phone call, text message, or email. If a dealership cannot return a call to schedule a routine appointment, it does not inspire confidence in how larger issues would be handled. I am truly disappointed and regret my decision. We got a new Audi here a few months ago and overall the process was fairly straightforward, with no really tricks or high-pressure tactics for things we didn't want. We were able to get a decent deal on the A3 we wanted, which was a nice surprise because at the time, there were not many models with Quattro available at any of the nearby dealerships. We looked at the car and made a decision to buy it on a Saturday. We put down a deposit and agreed to come back the following week to pick it up after we sent the funds to complete the purchase. When we came to pick it up, we did have to sit the through a few sales pitches for all the BS that nobody wants but is pure margin for the dealer, but luckily we were able to press "fast forward" with the finance guy so we weren't trapped there for eternity. I will say that part took much longer than when we got our previous two Audis at Audi Huntington and Audi Danbury, so that knocks it down a star. The only other knock is that we were forced to purchase Nitrofill for the tires for $399. Since we got a good deal on the car, I just chalked it up to "dealer markup" and didn't push it because they said the tires already had the nitrogen fill and there was no way to decline it. That didn't help us when we got a flat tire (also, the tool to take off the plastic lug caps wasn't in our tool kit, which was a major pain in the butt) but overall, not a huge issue. Overall the process was good, so don't want to discourage business but I wouldn't go back due to the BS nitrogen fill on the tires. read more

When I was financing my car after lease was over Ricky sold me every single bell and whistle which upped my payment significantly, but I was also told it would be no problem. Easily the best car buying experience I've ever had. I was looking to trade in my 2015 Q3 for the new 2019 A6, and with no allegiance to any dealer in particular, I set off on my quest to find the best deal possible. I found 18 well-rated dealers within a 50-mile radius of my apartment, randomly chose a friendly looking Brand Specialist from each website, and sent them an e-mail that indicated I was interested, looking to get more information, and was serious about making a purchase...but was also looking to get the best deal possible. Conversations ensued, and one by one dealerships dropped out - some never responded, some had no interest in trying to make a deal, and some flat out told me I had to pay sticker. It was never my intention to pit them against one another, but it was very interesting to see the varying responses and willingness to honor the discount I was looking for. I was lucky enough to have chosen Jason Spencer at Audi Hawthrone, and I can't say enough about the experience I had with both him and the whole team at the dealership. Jason and I spoke over e-mail for a while, he wanted to know more about what I was looking for in my A6, and we talked some baseline terms for discounts and bottom line pricing. I felt like we were in a good place, so when Jason called to introduce himself over the phone, I gladly accepted his invite for a test drive and appraisal of my Q3. Jason was one of the very few dealers that identified a silver A6 already on the boat from Germany that had everything I wanted (plus a few extras), destined for another NY dealer. I told him that this purchase was a longer-term hold for me, and I didn't want to settle for anything less than what I was looking for, but would certainly consider a few extra options. (I'm glad I did, that heated steering wheel has come in pretty handy in the last month.) I knew that if we could make a deal that this would be my car. When I got there I was floored at how nice the dealership itself was. Recently completed and converted from an old movie theater, the floor space, offices, service area, waiting areas, and delivery bays were gleaming with a freshly minted newness that gave me that "oh yeah, this is good" feeling. They also had not one, but two R8 models in the showroom, both unlocked - another sign of a good dealer - and naturally I sat in those first. I met Jason and we spoke a little bit before moving directly into the test drive. He was just as nice as he was on the phone and as we spoke I knew I made a good decision to come here. We took a test drive in an A6 on the lot over presumably some of the crappiest roads in the area, as one of my concerns was how the A6 would handle our very unique winter road situation. Answer? Better than my Q3 ever did. We also took it on the Saw Mill because I needed to...test the...speed. QUITE fast. My trade was apprised while we took a test drive, and after a little negotiation on the final trade in value, we arrived at a fantastic number and I signed the papers then and there. Jason took care of the rest; he got the car rerouted to Audi Hawthrone from the port in Rhode Island, and kept me updated via e-mail and text on when it would arrive. A few weeks after I signed the paperwork, the car was in and I arrived to find it sitting in a delivery bay with a gigantic bow on it. The whole delivery process took about two hours, and most of that time was me working with the tech guy to get acclimated to the new interior, plus a bunch of pictures. Everyone that I've interacted with so far has been a pleasure to work with, and I anticipate that will continue as I make my way up here for service. I love my car, and i'm very happy I got it here. There is definitely something not right at Audi Hawthorne. On a routine checkup some time ago I was told that I needed to bring my car because it was leaking oil and they needed to change the gasket. It was true as for time to time I had to refill the engine with oil. So few month ago I took my Audi Q7 back there and they kept it there close to a week to do the job (I discover later on YouTube that the job can be done within 3 hours even when you don't have the top of the range equipment). when I got my car back i noticed it had 75 more miles than when i dropped it.. It's like driving to New York City, driving around the city for a while and then back. ??? Then within a few weeks, faster than before, and despite the hefty price they charge you for the service the car was leaking oil again. I went back there to complain and was told that they had fixed only one side and I needed to come back for the other side, and they gave me an appointment for the day after. Back home looking at the paperworks they gave me a few weeks before I could see that I had been charge already for the right and the left oil gasket. when I brought my car back the day after, i mentioned that i was not going to pay twice for the same thing. They kept my car for 17 days before doing the job and guess what... it is still leaking oi! My wife has an Audi Etron and there was a recall to replace the charging cable. We had to wait several month and an appointment for that was booked a really long time ago. When I dropped the they told me they also needed to update the software. then no news for a while despite a few attempts to reach out, then about 10 days after the customer service representative texted to say that he was away in vacation and when he returned he discovered that when updating the software an component had burnt out and needed to be replaced. Last week we tried to call several times, no reply. As of today,02/06/2025, three weeks after dropping the car we're still waiting. read more

I originally walked out of Audi Hawthorne as a relatively content new car buyer. However, since my purchase this Fall my experience with this Audi location has been anything but enjoyable. There has been a list off issues with my vehicle within the first month of ownership that I trusted Audi Hawthorne would remedy. Especially considering I paid for the car in full and purchased the pre-owned certified warranty (THINK TWICE ABOUT THIS OPTION AS EVIDENTLY, AUDI ATTEMPTS TO SUBTLY WEAVE IN PLENTY OF NON-COVERED ITEMS). Needless to say, I feel as though the 300+ point inspection Audi claims to conduct as part of this offering is likely a farce. It has been about 2 months since I purchased my car and I have not been able to drive it without issue to this day. I have made multiple trips back to this dealership and had many calls back and forth about an ever growing list of vehicle concerns culminating with safety features being disabled on the car. Audi's proprietary 'Audi Pre-Sense' software de-calibration is supposedly the main cause of why my dashboard lights are malfunctioning, the traffic warning mechanisms are broke and why my airbags will not deploy. Audi Hawthorne claims the cost of repair is hundreds of dollars but they cannot identify what caused the issue and even assuming I continue to drive responsibly, they still cannot guarantee this won't happen perpetually. As I've owned the car for 2 months, I'm not only concerned for myself and passengers safety in the car but also for why Audi can't see the harm in seeking funds from someone who just bought a vehicle (in full) when they can't explain the reason for why the car requires extensive vehicle service so close in proximity to the purchase date. I would've thought this Hawthorne location would prioritize customer safety over minor corporate profits but it appears I was unfortunately incorrect. Multiple family members have been Audi drivers for a decade or more but have used the Mohegan Lake Audi location. They were appalled to learn of Audi Hawthorne's decision making up to this point as their experience has been a delight elsewhere over the years. I leased a 2025 SQ5 Sportback from this dealership in April of 2025 and NEVER in my life have I EVER experienced such poor customer service. This being my 9th Audi, it wasn't my 1st rodeo and was an easy sale.. I followed my salesman from 2 prior Audi's to this trainwreck of a joint because the price was right... Living in NJ the car was to be delivered (not uncommon) on a specific date and time which of course had to be rescheduled because of disorganization. On the confirmed delivery day, my car finally arrived late because the "valet person" put the wrong address in the navigation and ended up in an undesirable neighborhood 40 minutes away from my home resulting in an odometer reading of 150 miles when it arrived in my driveway. The "valet person" was accompanied by a female who left long black hair scattered on the passenger seat and console as well as greasy fingerprints all over the MMI screen. After signing the few documents and handing over a check I immediately went to the car wash and had a brand new expensive car thoroughly sterilized. About a week later I received a phone call from my salesman stating the finance person/dept "thinks they shredded/lost my check" and would I mind paying with a credit card...I of course put a stop payment on my "missing" check and conveniently there was no mention of reimbursement for the stop payment fee charged by my bank. Fast forward to day 48, the salesman left the dealership, I've called countless times trying to reach someone with no luck & recently called Audi Corporate Offices and filed a complaint because my temporary plates are expired and my permanent plates are in space! I'm paying for a car that I'm not driving in fear of getting stopped for expired documentation. The original complaint has now been escalated to the Regional Complaint Division because it was ignored... How is this place in business??? Originally bought my 2021 Audi Q3 from Eastchester (Classic) Audi and had a bad experience there and now brought in my car for repair due to a sunroof leak (recall/class action lawsuit) and the common denominator was my advisor both times has been Remo. I rarely go out of my way to blast people because I think mistakes happen and we can learn from them, but man is Remo incompetent. Audi Hawthorne managed to fix my sunroof in a little over a week and it held up well after a heavy rainstorm but the car was returned with seats that needed to be properly reconditioned and a passenger seat that had permanent water damage. I dropped off my car with Remo again under his reassurance it would be covered to only get a call the following day that Audi declined the claim because the water "didn't leave a stain on the seat padding". Audi admits the sunroof leaked and my advisor saw how wet the seats were but apparently that's not enough to get your car properly fixed. At this point I am peeved but I was told by Remo the damage is from "normal wear and tear" and not from the sunroof and I should use leather conditioner on it and if I was still unhappy, I should file a claim with Audi corporate, so I did. I called Audi and explained to them my situation and they seemingly understood and two weeks later (4-10) I got a call saying that Audi Hawthorne would fix my passenger seat free of charge. I am still assigned to Remo and so we came up with a plan that I would drop off my car on Thursday after hours because Friday they were supposed to get the parts for the seat. Friday comes around and I never get a call from Remo so I call and he said they are now planning to get the parts Saturday and since the tech isn't in on Saturday so he would call me Monday. Granted, I asked for a tech to also look at another issue (suspension), but at this point my car still hadn't been touched yet. Monday comes around and I called at 11:00am for an update but Remo is "on the phone" so I leave a message for a call back. 3:00pm comes and still no call. Finally, at 4:30 I got a call from Remo stating that they haven't looked at the suspension and the car isn't ready because they ordered the wrong hooks and that they wanted to replace the seat cushion because it was stained! To put it in perspective I told Remo I absolutely needed the car back this week because I needed to pick up my elderly parents who live out of state over the weekend, and he assured me this was a one-day job. When I ask when he expects the pad and hooks in, he says hopefully tomorrow but he has no tracking and really no word if that's definite. I called the next day because again I never hear from Remo and this time, he clarifies the situation by saying they ordered the wrong leather cover all together and the parts are now due in 7 days from now on 4-29. At this point I am livid because I was told by Audi Corporate and Audi Hawthorne getting the car back before 4-26 was no issue and they should have the part when I dropped off the car. The issue isn't just this circumstance but the fact that I also dealt with Remo back at Eastchester Audi and he totally dropped the ball there too when my camshaft went bad at 1300 miles. Back in Eastchester Remo had constantly changing stories of what was wrong with my car and when it would be done and with zero callbacks and never offered a loaner until I demanded one because my pregnant wife needed that car. My wife was so sick of waiting for the repairs and scared of driving the car she refused to drive it and we consequently bought her a different car. Either way the fact that Remo or Hawthorne Audi tried to gaslight me into thinking my water damage from a recall and class action lawsuit was my fault and then when Audi Corporate stepped in to help and Remo still manages to fumble it speaks to how bad he and the service department are. I will say after Remo left New Rochelle Audi (Formerly Eastchester) I kept getting my car serviced there and my experience has been great and the only reason I picked Hawthorne to fix my car was because it was closer to my house. Maybe Hawthorne Audi sales and service are great beyond Remo, but from my experience under two different dealerships I would avoid Remo. The service advisor manager Blanca Simpson while super nice and responsive in the beginning also started to completely ghost me and never returned any of my calls after trying to confirm some issues with my June appointment . On 6-10-24 basically 3 months after I brought in my car to repair the leaking sunroof and the water damage, my passenger seat cover was finally replaced, however my drivers side due to water damage is showing premature wear. read more

Nothing luxurious about this dealership. My connectivity to the car is horrible from day one and they never figured it out after going there 3 times, they found zero resolution. Last month I was in for a repair and my car sat there for 2 days because no one called me to tell me it was ready. Today was last the straw for me, I went in for a 10am inspection to be told the inspection machine wasn't working since the weekend but again no one gave me the courtesy of a phone call. They once again had plenty of time to call me but couldn't be bothered because they did call all the Saturday appts. I would advise going to a different dealership if you have an Audi. My husband and I purchased a certified used Q5 from this location in May of 2021. Salesmen were professional and friendly enough. We didn't have any issues at this point. I believe since then he has brought the car maybe once or twice for maintenance with the warranty he purchased with the car. However, this time around the service department really left my husband frustrated and dissatisfied. He brought the car in December 10. He wanted the wheels redone (part of warranty he purchased) and oil change and we suspected an issue with water somewhere in the car cause there were be a lot of condensation inside the vehicle when the weather didn't really cause it. Communication was just crap through the whole situation. They called and said if it's a specific issue with a certain piece we would be paying thousands for the parts and labor. They told us to contact our insurance so my husband did. Our insurance company couldn't even get in contact with anyone here. It was days later when our insurance rep called us asking which dealership it was so she could just go there herself because no one would answer he calls. Our insurance was the one to tell us they would cover up to certain amounts. After that we hear nothing from Audi. At first we gave them a break insisting it's the holiday season and people are off and whatever. But now we are entering January and still no updates. If we get the service rep on the phone he's short and doesn't answer many questions. All of a sudden, Monday January 16 they call and say care is ready and to please come get it asap as they need the loaner we have had for a month now. We live in Jersey and are unable to get there during the week. So my husband goes early that Saturday. No one is there to speak to about the shocking cost they charged our insurance company. No manager. No service rep. My husband leaves with our vehicle and halfway down the road the bottom of the car falls off and is being dragged on the ground. He turns around. Goes back. Gets the loaner again and heads home. So now it's Monday January 23. No updates. No communication. Just gets a phone call saying car is fine and put together now. They will come and drop it off and switch with the loaner. They come Monday night around 7pm so there's really no time to drive the car around (have to put our kid to sleep). Next day I drive the car and the Sun visors are falling out of the ceiling. My husband calls again. They send a tech out to fix this simple issue that should have been done at the dealer (they were out because if the leak issue they repaired). Before tech leaves my husband checks things over with him. Now the Sun roof is not opening properly anymore. Tech tries to fiddle with it and says he's new and doesn't really know what he's doing. So he takes our car again and leaves the car he drove in. So Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday go by. No updates. No calls from anyone. My husband is like I don't know what to do anymore. Gets a call Friday afternoon that they're bringing the car back. I'm home alone with my toddler and have to take all her car seat and strollers out last minute. All to find out the Sun room issue still remains. On top of all this, the loaners they left us with were always empty. They return our car that now had to commute the 27 miles each way 6 times with no gas. But they have no problem charging our card to refill the loaners. Manager was professional when she would call but never empathetic or apologetic in any regard. Would say she's checking to make sure car is done but do their service reps not check the fine details of bigger fixes? We needed the whole inner lining replaced due to the leak. So the Sun roof should have been assessed. The Sun visors as well. These are all little things that add up into a bit frustrating issue for us. Taking a toddler seat in and out in and out so many times playing musical cars is a real pain in the you know what. For the cost of these vehicles and the labor cost per hour you should be more courteous to your customers and communicate with them clearly and directly. Not playing the hard to reach and ignore phone calls. Oh and the cherry on top is their full voicemail box as well. Lesson learned. We will never return to this location for services. There's many similar reviews as of recent. The positive ones are probably just friends of the employees trying to butter them up. read more

But she had difficulty finding the right combination of size and power. I mentioned to my local mechanic that I was considering buying a used Audi SUV for my partner. He advised that if I bought a used German car "make sure it's certified." My son was driving an Audi Q5 and a Grandson had moved up from an A3 to an A5 from Audi New Rochelle. I was impressed and I finally convinced her to test drive an Audi Q5. My nearest dealer was Audi Hawthorne. I found a "Certified" 2020 Q5 with under 18,000 miles. She test drove it and loved it. On June 14th I sent them a certified check. On June 15 they wrote up the contract. When I raised the question of extended CPO warranty I was directed to talk to the financial manager. Dominique Denis. He said we didn't qualify for the extended warranty since we still had 2 months left on the original warranty. He lied. After running a CarFax we discovered we had 11 months remaining on the warranty. He pressured us to sign up for an extended warranty and tire and wheel package costing over $6900 which he claimed we could not get unless we signed and paid for it before leaving the premises. When I realized that we were probably only driving about 3000 miles a year I decided to cancel the warranties. On July 6th we visited Dominique and asked him to cancel both extended warranties. He said "no problem" and had my partner sign a cancellation form. He didn't mention the tire and wheel package had a non-cancellation clause. He did tell us that it would take 7 weeks to get the refund. When I called Dominique 7 weeks later he said he would contact his finance department and call me back. When I did not receive a call back I finally got in touch directly with VWFS Protection Services they informed me they were never contacted to cancel the contract. They sent me a cancellation form. I must fill it out, send it to VWFS. They then send it to the dealer who will process it. Dealer will issue refund to customer. It was then I read about others who experienced deceptive practices If you deal with these people get a written receipt for every transaction. I am awaiting response to my registered mail with completed cancellation form and documentation. Update: VWFS sent me a letter informing me they cancelled the plan as of 7/06/23. I waited 7 weeks and contacted VWFS and discovered they sent full refund to Audi Hawthorne on August 29th. On Oct. 16th I received a check for $3891.19. It seems Audi Hawthorne took a $100 cancellation fee although there was a clause that said no cancellation fee if cancelled within 30 days plus they charged me for 11 weeks of coverage even though I requested cancellation after 3 weeks. I had to figure this out myself because they never gave a breakdown of charges. Add to this: I had 11 months to go on the bumper to bumper warranty yet they wrote the extended warranty, which had a $250.00 deductible, to run concurrently. Does that make sense? I won't pursue this further. It's not worth the time. Although they screwed me out of over $300 they'll lose out in the long run. I had no problem with Rich in service . But I will be taking my business elsewhere. And hopefully I'll save some others from anxieties and agravation. read more

The absolute worst customer service. I am not sure how they stay in business. I have been using their service center since they opened and have never had a good experience- car returned late, rescheduled appointments, messages not returned, etc. But this most recent experience is beyond anything I have ever experienced. I'm early August, I scheduled my routine service appointment for September 9. I explained that I needed a loaner car. They called me at the last minute and told me there was no longer cars so they moved me to September 11 at 8 AM. At about 7:15 AM on the 11th, Tim the manager calls me to tell me there is no loaner car. He tells me he will reschedule me and make sure that he does have a loner for me on the new appointment day. He said he would call me back later in the day to reschedule the appointment. He never called so I called him the following day. I left a voicemail with no return phone call. That continued for two more days until I finally received a phone call back. obviously, I am not considered a priority by anybody there not even the service manager. Tim said he Personally made me an appointment for tomorrow, September 24 and guaranteed me that I would have a car. Shock of all shocks I just received a call the night before at 5:15 PM from Chris letting me know that there is no loaner car in the earliest game is October 8. I explained to him and that is unacceptable and I've never seen such poor customer service in my life. I told him the whole story but he could care less. I was getting agitated and explained to him how frustrating this was and ask him to bump somebody to get me earlier. I was frustrated. He was very nasty on the phone. No Customer service skills. I told him he had to do something because my service is past due and I have work and kids and need to get the steak care of. To add Insult to injury, after being treated like absolute garbage by Audi. This guy. Chris has the nerve to be nasty on the phone. I've never experienced such disrespect, disorganization and an absolute circus in my life. Do not go there. Audi should be ashamed to be associated with this place. read more

Stay away from Audi! They sold me a defective car and their manager Percy and Nick continued to pass blame to corporate. They will take your money faster then you can count it, but when problems arise they will disappear! I was hoping to post a video of the Audi defection that my car came with but I could not. The car sat in their lot for weeks and they lied on so many different occasions. This is not an honest crowd of people! Take your money and bring it to BMW, Mercedes or Infiniti. read more

Hawthorne Audi called , emailed and texted me to confirm and be on time for my service appointment . Promised to be complete at 1pm , they unbelievably forgot to complete the NYS inspection which was the purpose of the service. The Service Shop is the worst at Audi Hawthorne. If you plan on buying or leasing a vehicle here, you will get treated well, until you need to service your vehicle. They will do everything to make you pay for something extra EVEN when you have their Audi Care Plan. Make sure you get a second opinion on repairs, if you have to pay. And when buying back a lease, they want YOU to pay for an Inspection of the vehicle THEIR vehicle, before you buy. Be prepared to SPEND more than expected, in this dealership!!! I would definitely shop elsewhere!!! I gave it two stars because I love the Audi vehicle. Too bad this dealership doesn't hold it business as such. read more

I've had multiple pleasant experiences with Audi Hawthorne. I went in to test drive an Audi S5. Lindsey Wolff was very knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. After the test drive, he worked with me to build my ideal configuration and then worked up numbers for me. The manager Nick Belli came out to greet me and discuss the vehicle. Nick was also courteous and professional. Several months later my father was in the market for an SQ5 so I sent him to Audi Hawthorne. He worked with Lindsey who, again, proved professional and who was in no way pushy. This time we worked with the manager, Ken Stong, who was also extremely professional throughout the entire sales process. The sales experience at Audi Hawthorne was great and never felt like the "typical" car buying experience we all dread! read more
