I had the worst customer service experience at Prestige Subaru, Pleasantville. I made an appointment to bring my car in because I was due for a 90K maintenance service and my Tire Pressure Monitor kept going off. On Wednesday, I made an appointment for Saturday at 8:15am. I drop my car off at 8:10am, the manager said they will do a diagnostic to see why the TPMS Sensor kept going off/what work I should get done for my maintenance. The manager said the diagnostic takes an hour and they will text the video to my phone. If I do not respond to the video within 10 minutes, they would do all of the recommended work. At 12pm I had not heard anything, so I decided to call to check in. When the manager answered she seemed very annoyed that I called. She said that they had many walk-ins, so they hadn't been able to work on my car, and the diagnostic would be sent to me by 2:00pm. By 4:00pm I still had heard nothing, so I drove there to pick up my car. At that point they did 0 work!!! What is the point of making an appointment if walk-ins get serviced before you? On 2/16, I made a service appointment for my ABS sensor, which had been shutting down intermittently. Their website has a malfunction that prevents you from choosing to wait while the work is being done (drop off is the only option you can make that will allow you to complete the appointment). Yesterday, 2/20, the service center called to confirm the appointment for today, 2/21, and specifically named what I requested in addition to two recalls as the work to be done. Today, I arrived about an hour before my appointment due to rare light traffic and was told no problem. I quietly set up in a chair in the waiting area and worked for the next 5 hours. When I went to the desk to check status, I was told that they did not have parts to complete the 2 recalls and acted like they had no idea that I wanted a sensor repaired or replaced. Their attitude was that i shouldn't be aggravated by this because i was supposed to have dropped my car off and made arrangements that would prevent me from feeling that my time was wasted. The manager was gone and i was told she wouldn't return until 4:00. I was also told that the owner wasn't available and "comes and goes", so that seeing him was impossible. This place has absolutely no regard for your time or needs. They also do not know how to organize their service appointments to be prepared for them despite having a week's notice. I was willing to give these guys a shot at my business. Absolutely the most disorganize service center you can imagine. Yesterday it took 4 calls to reach someone to set up an appointment for today. That being done I was told that they would charge me $160 to tell me what a check engine light meant, not fix it, tell me what it was. To add salt to the wound, on showing up today they told me they could not find my appointment after I had taken the time to block MY time. What an absolute joke - I agree with previous poster who wished to leave a 0 star review. I would not use their service again if my car broke down in their driveway. The rep on the phone offered me a "package" that they give customers at 30k miles - I told her I thought it sounded high and asked her for a breakdown for the individual services. Of course the individual breakdown was $125 less than the package, and after she explained that to me, she turned around and asked me if I still wanted the package! Went in to return a lease, as a Prestige employee said it was O.K. to do so. I was met and cursed out by "Anthony," who is apparently one of their managers, in the middle of the showroom in font of staff and customers - even as another employee tried to "shhh" him and calm him down. "Anthony" is absolutely disgusting, inappropriate, and downright shameless to speak in the way in which he did to someone he has never met or interacted with before. He seemed very comfortable speaking like this in front of a showroom full of people so I am sure this is not the first time this has happened. If you want a stereotypical piss-poor experience at a dealership then this place is probably for you. I genuinely feel sorry for their sales staff for having to work under an individual who conducts himself in such a manner. Service here is horrible. Wife had service done here for oil change and that same day noticed that there are grey splotches all over the front of the hood of the car. She called the service center back the same day and no one ever called her back. When I took the car in first they tell me it's bird poop, then it's supposedly tree sap....clearly it's grey paint. Asked for manager who never came out to even talk to me. I waited for 20 mins and left. Will definitely be reporting them to Better Business Bureau. And, yes I cursed on the way out but you would too if your car was damaged by these guys and they refused to even talk to you. Rude and damaged my car. Brought my Subaru in for a recall repairs. My car was in their possession for 24 hours and there's a crack on my windshield which they denied accountability. The serviced manager told me it was noted upon arrival that there was an existing crack, refused to take responsibility. Told me to check and see if my insurance will cover the repair. I'm always looking to supporting local businesses but NEVER coming here again! If you choose to bring your vehicle, make sure you inspect your vehicle with them and have them sign off before handing over your key. read more

When a car dealership performs a warranty repair or service as part of a pre-paid maintenance plan, they submit a claim form to corporate (Subaru of America) to get reimbursed for parts and labor. The customer does not pay since it is covered by their warranty or is something they already paid for in the form of a maintenance plan. I got my Subaru from another dealership and purchased an added security maintenance plan with it. When I went to Prestige Subaru to have a repair made (this is the dealership closest to where I work), I called ahead to verify it was covered. Upon arrival they confirmed the coverage again. After making the repair, the service department tried to charge me because all of a sudden they "couldn't find me in the computer". The manager of the dealership where I got the car from even got on the phone with Prestige's service dept to tell them I was covered, but Prestige insisted I either had to pay or they would "undo" the work for a small fee and I could have the car towed elsewhere. I could maybe by that this was a case of gross incompetence except... PRESTIGE TOLD ME THEY'D CHARGE ME LESS IF I PAID CASH!!! I had no choice but to pay since I was new at my job and needed to get back to work. It turns out that Prestige submitted a claim form to get reimbursed for the labor and parts on the repair they made to my car, and wanted me to pay cash so there would be no record that they were committing fraud. Subaru of America eventually reimbursed me for the money I paid Prestige since the repair really was covered AND admitted that Prestige was paid 2x. I have the letter and emails from SoA to back all of this up. read more

My girlfriend (not wife, Mr. Salesman who pulled that assumption out of the air) was interested in a Subaru Legacy (not a Ford Focus or VW Jetta, Mr. Salesman). What a headache, but too funny. After knowing the true market value of the car as she wanted it along with Subaru's advertised 0% financing on all 2013 vehicles, they offered her a 2013 Legacy slightly below MSRP and would not go below it with 2.9% financing without even knowing her credit score so we walked out. When we were leaving the car salesman made a pouting sound. Nice touch buddy; what are you 7? NOTE: This review is for the service department ONLY, not the sales department as I have never had an issue here. I brought my Subaru in last night for a service appointment today (9/5). Filled out the envelope, put it in the bin, etc. Called around 2:30 to check the status and to make a payment, (going in for a 60,000 service as well as getting some light body work done). I was told that the envelope got "hung up in the back" after being accused of not putting it in correctly in the drop box. I'm sorry, I didn't know there was more than one way to do it. I purposely made the appointment for today since I was already at the dealership last night looking to purchase another Subaru. I will now be going to Curry Subaru to get the service done (60,000 and body work) as clearly Pleasantville cannot handle the simple process. I'm beyond furious right now as we will now be putting extra miles on the Subaru and extra miles on my car since my Husband will need to bring it to work again next week. I brought in my Subaru Outback to Prestige's Subaru's service department to have them reset the "Check Engine" light, and to perform a recall repair. They (rightfully) did not charge for the recall repair, but they decided to charge me $100 for "an hour's labor" of resetting the check engine light. Yes. Resetting the "Check Engine" light is costing me $100. I spoke with the manager over what must have been some sort of mistake, but he refused to waive the charge, stating that it's their standard minimum charge. He said that they had done a full diagnostic of the car (something I had not asked for at any point), and that had cost labor time. Their mistake is somehow now going to cost me money. Be forewarned if you go to the Prestige Subaru service department, you may very well be charged for things you did not ask for. This is now my third bad experience with Prestige (though this is the worst by far), and I will not be returning to them again. I would not recommend their service department to anyone. However, if you do find yourself using them for some reason, be sure to request (in writing) that no charges or repairs be made without your consent. read more

Over the years I have purchased 3 cars from this dealership. I was looking to buy a 2019 Impreza in July (originally, I wanted to buy a used car and I had gone in about 6 months ago, and nobody ever got back to me). I saw a salesperson, and he told me the car I wanted to buy was unavailable, but they would try to find one, and if they couldn't, they would order one for me. Well, I never heard from the salesman. Also, I wanted to trade in my 2014 Subaru. The used car manager gave me a low price. I wound up buying the car I wanted from Westchester Subaru (they got the color and upgrades, and a lower price that I wanted in less than a week). Plus I got $1,000 more for my trade-in. On Tuesday, I make an appointment "conveniently" online because I was at work and could not give them a call. Wednesday, I get to the dealership, I was not on the list and because I made the appointment online I was told that I should call to confirm my appointment. Totally defeating the purpose of online registering. How was I not on the list when I received a confirmation phone call and text message earlier that day? All I wanted was to get my NYS inspection done. The guy (he's lucky I can't remember his name) at service then says, "Can you try doing it locally?".. WELL NO S*** I could but because you had a 5:15 pm appointment slot available online and I get out of my job at 5:00 pm it just seemed like it would work, right? BEWARE!!! This is not a reputable operation. I was robbed by the service department, they have a bogus 1000 mile new car check up. Bought a fully loaded 2015 Outback, that worked perfectly before service. The car was robbed for parts by the service department. When confronted they were rude and denied any wrong doing. Do NOT trust this service department. They are both incompetent and overcharge. Service quoted me 1.5 hours labor for something another mechanic down the street did in 10 minutes. $180 vs. $15. They told me I had to rotate my tires and said it would take them 0.5 hours labor, roughly $60! Mavis down the block does tire rotations as a FREE service for anyone. Mavis told me it takes them 5 minutes and recommended I didn't rotate the tires at this time. Rosemary (think that's her name) in service tries to act nice but in general they are unorganized, lie, and base their business on a quick $ vs a long term relationship with local customers. Regarding Sales - they are just unexperienced and don't follow up. As a pleasantville local I wanted to support the local place but the sales guy never called me back. I was ready to buy a new car. Subaru has been the most popular car among my dog friends and it has the AWD that my friends could not stop praising. It was very important for me to find a car that could accommodate 2 crates without scarifying the back seats as I was downsizing from my 8v Tahoe. I measured the two crates and went to the dealership on Saturday afternoon. There was one customer looking at s car in the show room. And there were about 4 sales persons just talking amongst themselves at the side of the brand new model. I understand. It was Saturday afternoon. They just wanted to go home. So nobody was interested in talking with me. I had to interrupt their conversation to ask a question. "Do you have measurements for the cargo area?" "No. " Really, you are selling a car and you do not know the dimension. "Do you have a measuring tape or ruler?" "No". I had to ask one of them to open the cargo area. And they went back to their deep conversation after opening the cargo area. So I left. Maybe I did not look like I had money to buy a car. I went to Toyota and Honda. Both of them put my crates in the cargo area to see if they would fit. I ended up buying Toyota all in cash. What a joke. read more

I had scheduled an online appt to change my summer tire setup to winters (already mounted on wheels) for 3:30pm. At 9:00am on the day of the appt, I get a text saying that my appt needs to be rescheduled due to a tech taking a sick day. I called to inquire and was told that unfortunately, this was a last minute thing and that he didn't want to start to work on the car late in the day (3:30pm.) For some reason, the gentleman also mentioned that I made the appt online, by myself, like it somehow discredited me. I explained that the labor should take 30 minutes and if there was any way they could squeeze me in. Not only did he refuse, but he told me to go to mavis! Absolute horrible customer service in the service department. Not only did the get all the money they could get out of me, they misdiagnosed the problem in my car having me buy the wrong part. I asked for a NYS inspection but wouldn't do the inspection with the check engine light on and charged me for a diagnostic at $125. When I needed the extra 10 days for the fail in order to fix it they said they could give it to me after I paid for the inspection, another $37. I was close to expiration since I tried to schedule to inspection in the second week of the month but they didn't have anything available until the 28th. Now fix everything, schedule a reinspection at 8:30 in the morning with a 3pm pick up. No phone call or nothing but get here and they can't finish it and I need to bring it another day. read more

I bought a VW here some years ago, and my wife has a Subaru. This review is for the service department. The VW has been in for service fairly frequently. The department is incredibly disorganized, and I get my car back late probably 20% of the time. At some level, I've been able to accept that due to the dealership's proximity to the train station -- it is very convenient. However, in the last year, my wife and I both made the mistake of bringing our cars in to Prestige for inspections. In each case, they failed the cars, and in each case the explanation was that we needed new tires. In each case, we brought the car to a different service station, and the cars passed the inspection. In each case (just to be safe) we then brought the cars to the local tire store (rhymes with "Davis"), and in each case the local tire store (WHICH HAD AN INCENTIVE TO TELL US THAT THE TIRES WERE BAD) told us the tires were fine. While it is all too common to be shaken down at an inspection (around here, they seem to love making you replace your wiper blades), I thought this was truly egregious. So while I am willing to accept quite a bit for convenience, I won't accept dishonesty. Steer clear of Prestige. read more

I would rate a ZERO if I could. My 69 year old mother goes in to buy a car. The sales team treat her poorly. As I am active duty military, I could not be there to help her with her purchase, however I call the dealer on her behalf. I am treated so poorly we purchase the car from a dealer about an hour away in NJ. About a year later my mother purchases a new cell phone. She stops buy the local dealer to ask for help pairing her new phone to the car (a 2 minute affair). Despite the sales team sitting around doing nothing, they refuse to help her. I call the service manager and the general manager, I leave each of them 3 messages. NOTHING!!! Proud to serve and protect such a bunch of rude and disrespectful losers. AVOID at all costs.
