Had a great experience with Mark at Audio Answer. I called Audio Answer because I was having issues with my car microphone and CarPlay head unit. Mark called me back and had multiple conversations with me where he tried to help rule out causes that I would be able to fix myself. So he was spending time (unpaid) and going out of his way to make sure I wasn't unnecessarily spending money (at HIS business) bringing in the car to have it looked at. Which shows me he's not just out to take his customers' money. It turned out I needed a replacement head unit. Mark ordered the unit for me, and I assumed he would charge me more than if I bought it myself online, and I was fine with that given the extra convenience. But he ended up charging me the same price as it would have cost to get it online. And his price for installation was extremely fair, given that he had 1) spoken to me several times on the phone to see if the problem could be solved without my bringing the car in, 2) opened up the car to diagnose the issue, 3) opened up the car again several days later to install the new head unit once it was delivered to him. (I don't even think he charged me for the time spent on #1 and 2!) The new head unit works great (it was recommended by Mark, who helped me choose one of the more inexpensive options and didn't try to upsell me). Would DEFINITELY recommend Audio Answer and would use Mark again for my future car stereo needs. (Note: there seems to be a shortage of car stereo shops in this part of the state, so if you call for an appointment and Mark can't take you right away, just know that's par for the course for stereo shops around here these days. Mark just helped me install a rare camera for my car. I required to utilize the screen originally in the car and do not add a new screen or change the interface of the system. Mark nailed it! His work is perfectly done and you can tell that he has a passion for his job and knows what he is doing. Since my car is , generally speaking, a fairly new model (CLA 250), he has to do a lot of research to find the perfect equipment and to know how to meet my requirement without ruining the natural beauty of a Mecesdez . He made it and he spent a whole day to install and test it. The rare view image is 99% the same with an authentic Mecesdez factory installed one (I've seen the one on my friend's car). I highly recommend Audio Answer because of Mark's meticulousness and perfect craftsmanship. Someone has complains about Mark's attitude. Indeed, he is not very talkative. In April, I called Audio Answer on a whim, looking for anyone and everyone within the car audio/system installtion business that could help me with the installation of my BlackVue DR750LW - 2 channel dash cam. Most places that I called thought that I was the police (apparently) and quickly told me that they couldn't help, but after calling Audio Answer to see if they (1) knew what I was talking about and (2) could do a same-day installation, I was plenty surprised with how willing and helpful they were, even over the phone! Even though they weren't familiar with my exact dash cam make/model, they saw me on super short notice and took the time to research, read the manual, and even troubleshoot the system prior to my even arriving there. They put so much effort into ensuring that the installation was correct (because the Korean instruction manual wasn't the easiest to understand), and the finished product was AMAZING. They took so much care in perfectly hiding all wires, connecting the cam to my car's power (this dash cam is the type that offers "parking mode" and should always be connected), and the wiring and look of it is seamless. The cost was insanely reasonable - especially since it took more than an hour and he only charged me for one hour - and they now have a loyal customer. After 4 attempts to get an appointment (due to inclement weather where I live) I was able to have a backup camera installed on a 2014 Scion xD. The price was reasonable and much less than an original estimate. While waiting, I decided to have a remote starter installed also. It too was actually less than an original off the cuff estimate. I've been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. In early January I emailed a number of businesses about installing an auto-starter on my wife's car. Within a very short amount of time I received a follow-up email and phone call from Audio Answer's owner, Mark. He was extremely friendly and answered all of my questions. He gave me a quote right on the phone and we scheduled a time to do the work. On the specified day I dropped the car off before the shop was open and just dropped the keys in the key-slot. Mark called as soon as he got to the shop just to let me know that he had the car and gave me an estimate of the time it would take. Mark probably called 2-3 times during the day to give me updates and to let me know about some of wiring "issues" he happened upon while installing it. He actually fixed the wiring issue at no additional cost. The starter came in at the exact price he had quoted me and it worked perfectly. Mark actually even followed up with a phone call a week later to make sure everything was working correctly. I am extremely impressed with the professionalism and service here. I somehow destroyed all of the speakers on the left side of my car recently (I later found out from Mark that it was due to corrosion). Getting tired of only the passengers in my car getting a decent sound, I decided to stop into Audio Answers to get a diagnoses and quote. Although Mark couldn't diagnose the issue on the spot, he gave me very realistic (and reasonable) estimates to fix the bad speakers. As he was checking out the sound, he noticed I had a remote starter (unbeknownst to me because the dealership I bought it from failed to tell me)... All that was missing was a new remote and whatever necessary programming. In addition to driving me to and from work, fixing my speakers in the same day (again, prices were very reasonable), he found a random remote that was lying around and programmed my car-starter - at no charge (well, I'm sure it was tied into the 2 hrs of labor, but I was expecting to pay that regardless). I can't guarantee the same will happen for you, but I can assure you will receive great service, at reasonable prices, and from a guy who has a great deal of pride in his work and in his business. I was looking for a shop to install a 5 channel amplifier and replace the stock speakers on my base Infiniti Q50a using compatible parts from my last car, so given the good reviews, I went to check this shop out. I spoke directly to the owner, Mark, and I must say, his attitude left something to be desired. To begin with, he gave me a lecture about how by me providing used parts as opposed to buying directly though him he would have no liability for any issues with the parts themselves, which of course is understood, but then he took the conversation down the path of in his words, "weeding out bad customers in advance." When I told him that I understood that I wasn't planning to hold him liable for my parts, he somehow just kept harping on it like a broken record and saying the same thing over and over, devolving into repeatedly stating that "it's not good to use other people's groceries" (the groceries ostensibly being the parts I wanted to provide). Eventually I somehow managed to force the issue and move the conversation toward him providing me a ballpark estimate, which, after looking at my car he wouldn't do. He just said it'll be at least a day's work, and that he charges $80 an hour for labor, so it would be at least $800. However, then we went on to say that it may take more, and that the second the car comes in the door the clock is ticking, and then proceeded to go back to the issue of my providing my own parts, and describing how if there's an issue he's going to rip apart the whole install, and then stressed that he would be paid for that as well, and that I would essentially need to provide an open checkbook for the project. I was very cordial throughout, and all I received was a rude, egomaniacal prick with minimal social skills, who for some reason was unable to provide an estimate for one of the most basic car audio jobs out there. I ended up going to Precision Sound in Dedham, and they offered to do the whole install (with custom amplifier mounting) in addition to installing an auto dimming mirror for me for $600. A bit more money than Best Buy, but the staff was extremely knowledgeable, transparent, and polite, and they answered all my questions, and explained to me exactly how they would go about the proposed install, which inspired trust in me that they would do it right, and thus were worth the price difference. I plan to take them up on their offer, and schedule an install tomorrow. The bottom line here though is that Mark is a prick, and I've had better customer service at a Chinese takeout place. read more

I was hesitant to go to a professional audio shop because I felt I would be laughed at and ripped off. Audio Answer just finished a really major project for us this afternoon, and we were so pleased with the results that we didn't want to let the sun set without writing this review---which, btw, is totally unsolicited. In the late summer, we moved from Newton to Natick, and after reading the positive reviews on this site about AA and Mark S. we hired him to disassemble our A-V equipment and help us decide which to bring along and which to replace with new equipment. Mark helped us choose and then ordered all the new equipment, including multiple TVs; Blue-Ray players, receivers, speakers, and even 4 stereo consoles ("some assembly required"----which he did). Once we moved, Mark showed up with his electrician and did all the wiring required for the house-wide A-V plan. After the wiring was in place, Mark then installed all the equipment and made sure it was all working perfectly. Inevitably, on such a large project, some technical issues arose, but Mark trouble-shot all of them, and wasn't content until the system was in perfect order. He's also a very neat worker---never left a mess anywhere. Best of all, we thought his charges were very reasonable in light of the quality and quantity of work he did. In short, we were totally pleased with the job Mark did and highly recommend him for any A-V job, small or (like ours) quite large. read more
