They offer a variety of remote car starters based on your needs and budget, and they take the time to talk you through the options they offer, ask questions about your needs and wants to help them understand what to recommend, and answer any remaining questions you have. Needed a Starter in The beast 2010 Lexus 460LS-L Saw some very good reviews online and gave them a call. Had an appointment the next day. A little tricky to find shop but follow google maps and you'll find it. Great job, took a couple hrs to install. Mike spent 15-20 minutes showing me functions of starter. Spoke to Mike via yelp after much frustration from dealing with super shady tinting places in the greater Boston area. He was super professional and very informative on the services they offer. These guys did right by me! They had installed a remote starter in my CRV back in 2016. Six years later I had trouble with it and they switched out a module and the remotes and basically upgraded my system for a nominal fee. On top of that, Mike spent a good 45 minutes trying to pair up the Viper app on my phone to the car. I was ready to throw in the towel, especially since he obviously had plenty of other work to do, but he was not giving up. He even called in one of his guys (Eddie) to temporarily disconnect the work he had just done, just so he could make the pairing happen. And finally it he got it! Not only does Automotive 12V Specialist have the superior product for the value (Viper) but the customer service was FRICKIN' PHENOMENAL. From my first phone interactions with Mike - he wasn't bored or annoyed with "this woman's annoying questions" or that I called back when I thought of another one. If you call and get the machine: Mike CALLS YOU BACK. PROMPTLY. Then I got dropped off before my car was finished and had to hang around in the shop for a while. They were such great people I actually *ENJOYED MYSELF* waiting for it! System has worked perfectly since I drove out of the garage, no complaints or issues at all. Mine comes with an app too, so it's not like it was just a matter of a few screws and see ya later. I would not take my car to this shop. I brought mine in to have Mike (owner) replace my original stereo, and he replaced it with a system he said would get AM FM bluetooth plus play my CDs. Well it played my CDs, but where my last 4 radios could get stations all over eastern Mass, this one took lands around here and made them into dead spots where none existed. Station after station on both AM & FM I found I couldn't get on this new box. And when I hooked in my phone to the bluetooth I found people couldn't hear me on it, even though I put the mike right in front of me. In fairness, he replaced the box with a new one without bluetooth capability at no charge including for labor, but reception on this new new one still was awful. So he sold me on the idea of an antenna amplifier for an extra $90 including labor, plus the cost of my time, but he wasn't there to do the work when I came for my appointment--having written down the time wrong, he had left for the day. I came back--far out of my way--for yet a 3rd time and this time he did the work. And then the next time I opened my glove compartment it fell out, not the amp but my glove compartment. It was my labor to put it back in, and as I did I could see where he had slid the wire for the antenna behind it. When I called to make the case for a refund, at least of his most recent labor charge ($40) because he had knocked my glove compartment out, he claimed it hadn't been his fault, stuck to "company policy" that labor is unrefundable. As the owner he somewhat angrily refused to change the policy. All along--and it's been almost 4 months--I tried to give him every benefit of the doubt. I believed him when he said that the bad reception might be because of the car's antenna. I went to the car and radio manufacturers (Toyota and Fujitsu) to get their take on the antenna issue. It was my foolishness to take him seriously when he showed me that he didn't even know where the car's antenna was, that he didn't know the radio stations in the area (just weird for a car stereo guy), or even the goods he sells. For the 2nd radio he said there was a "fine tuning" button described in the owner's manual that could help the reception. No such luck. His last idiocy was to tell me that it's really a "manual seek" button, which does actually exist as a tiny button but is a) no help to reception of course, and b) dangerous to use when you're trying to drive--that's why car radios have presets. His written guarantee is nonrefundable labor & 1 year warranty, refund within 30 days only, but he also told me (not written) that he'd charge a 20% restocking fee if I return the goods. I won't because the antenna amplifier is a slight improvement (very slight), at least I can play my CDs. As important, I also don't want him touching the car again. But a 20% restock fee? To put something back in the display case in his shop? No way. This is a business that doesn't know its stuff, does shoddy work, and maybe even lies about it. read more

I LOVE my automatic car starter that I got last winter. The price with a groupon was really inexpensive compared to other places, even those offering groupons. It works through brick walls, from a good distance away, even when I have to park down the street away from my house. They guys were great. I thought the service was great, but am not really impressed with the product. I was told it has a range of 800 yards, however the vast majority of the time it doesn't work when I'm 20 feet from my car, only works when I'm basically right next to it. It serves its purpose since my driveway is next to a window so I can start it by being close, but when the car is down the street it simply does not work, which is not what I was looking for. read more
