My car got dinged in Market Basket at 4:45 on a Friday afternoon. Driving home I noticed a detail business right near me had activity. I got an appraisal AFTER 5 PM on a Friday and I brought the car in on Monday morning. Christian the son exceeded all expectations. I honestly thought we agreed on fixing the ding and doing a small interior job --the seats--but not only did he detail the outside, he detailed the inside. The car was ready Monday at 4 pm. I came here to have my leather refinished. They charged a lot and did a very poor job. The total cost was over $250 for a steering wheel and a spot on the rear seat, and the result was hardly professional-looking. Worse, they didn't mask off the dashboard, so I had bits of leather dust stuck in my instrument cluster, and they scratched the logo on the steering wheel. I needed the seat bottom for my ford fusion reupholstered and he was able to match the color to a T. Oh, and the prices they offer will beat any other place you're looking at. I'm incredibly let down by this place. I chose King because of the stellar Yelp reviews. I went here to have the front seat in my truck re-done. It was to cost $250 with a $200 interior details (because it was so 'bad'), and $50 to re-make the center console. I believe the gentleman's name is Chritsian. He took an initial payment of $250 and the other installment would be paid upon completion. He only rebuilt the seat, did nothing to the center console aside from two staples, and strait up didn't touch the interior in regards to a 'detail'. I couldn't be more unhappy with his service. The interior WAS NOT EVEN TOUCHED. The same stains remained, the same exact dog-hair remained, he didn't even wipe things down. The same exact obviously wipe-able spots remained. With all this, I pointed out the incredibly poor work (or lack there of) upon retrieval of the vehicle. Christian became upset at me saying that 'the truck was very difficult and they couldn't spend more time on it. Legit, they didn't even wipe down the interior panels. He was supposed to add cushion to the center console and re-make. Nope, two staples and didn't do anything else. I was forced to pay the second $250 in order to release the vehicle despite completely ignoring promised and paid-for services. This place may do decent upholstery work, but they will cut every corner possible to maximize their profits. Steer clear of this place, especially for detail work. Absolutely pathetic. read more

So I had high expectations but Christian exceeds them. It was time to renew the 6 year old Subaru's interior and I found a deal on eBay for a full leather Katzkin kit. Predictably I misread the ad, but these guys made it work. My total cost for a premium leather (seats, doors) interior: just under $1,000. I love these guys, would have them do any work. Dan and Tony really know what they're doing. They installed my 1968 Mustang headliner and it looks MINT! They also installed a 3-point seat belt system, and actually modified it to make it look stock. These guys are fair priced and don't half-ass things. I have a Mercedes convertible, that I am preparing to sell. On the driver's side, about a 5 or 6 inch stitch come undone. A number of years ago I needed some custom upholstery work for the door panels of my vehicle. King Upholstery not only did the job on time, at more than a reasonable rate, but also they turned out better than expected. The work held up over the 8 years I had the vehicle. I love our dog and accept little destructive things he does like a parent might accept a child breaking a plate or spilling something on a sofa. So when our golden retriever, Max, accidentally put his claws through the leather seat in the back of my Acura, I accepted it, blamed myself for not covering the seat and said dogs will be dogs. I tried a number of aftermarket fixes, like goop that was supposed to match the leather and seal the tear - but it looked terrible. Acura and others wanted over $1,000 to repair this. On a whim I stopped into King Upholstery and Dan got out a book of auto fabrics and leathers I had never encountered, found the EXACT matching color and texture, and fixed the tear within a week's time for about $280. Considering the cost of a full replacement, and the sinking feeling I had every time I looked at the back seat, this was an extremely worthwhile investment in a $30,000 car. I mean - you really can not tell a repair was made. I am so very pleased with the service and results. read more

Amazing. They took a lost cause -- the upholstery of our Volvo station wagon, upholstery that was reeking of the kerosene that we spilled by accident from the old kerosene stove that we were transporting in the back of the wagon -- and made it like new. They are amazing. They kept at the job until it was perfect! Not a whiff of kerosene. . . And they were happy to do whatever they could -- always a smile! read more

Just a note, had my 64 mustangs interior done about a year ago it still looks great I still get questions about who did it. The guys at Kings did a amazing job the car has won a few prizes at varies shows over the summer. Needless to say I always recommend these guys to anybody that asks. read more

Not sure what happened to this business. They are now selling cars instead of doing upholstery. The cars being advertised are all high end (GT-R, Porsche 911, etc) and not only are the prices they are listing way too good to be true, when the VIN is searched, many of these cars are in inventory at other dealerships around the country and are priced twice as high as Master Used Cars has them listed for. Even the pics that Master uses are taken from the other websites. And looking at a satellite photo of their lot, there is not only no room for the number of vehicles they have listed, but nobody is going to be displaying high end cars like this on their run down lot in front of that run down building. Perhaps all of this is related to the death of the original owner a few years back and whoever is running the business now doesn't have the same ethics. I called and emailed them but received no response from this business. Buyer beware, this is an obvious scam. read more
