Evan and Dyson showed up on time, were very polite, thoughtful, efficient and skilled at their work. We appreciated that they paid attention to small details like offering to wear shoe covers and asking about whether some furniture had leg pads so as to avoid damaging the hard wood floors when moving it. I rarely post negative reviews but felt this one was needed for iHome's benefit. A lesson learned…read more I'm not posting this out of anger or frustration. Its just a response to what had been a reliable local small business that over the last 6 months stopped being responsive, at least to this particular customer, and I had to change to another low voltage company. The iHome folks are great people. Just hoping they can sort out how to improve their customer engagement. Some background. iHome was contracted by our home builder back in 2021 to do some low voltage work before we moved in. Afterwards, iHome came out to perform some projects such as mounting TVs, installing sound bars, and extending our WiFi with Eero extenders. The work they performed and their responsiveness during that period was great, so in 2023, I wanted to complete the remaining projects they had already pre-wired. They were responsive and turned around a quote rather quickly in October 2023. However, a few changes were needed to the quote and per their office direction, I sent the changes in to both their office and their primary installer's emails. Didn't hear back for several weeks, so I called their office to follow up and set an appointment. Although the person in their office was nice and apologetic when I called her, nothing happened afterwards. She told me to resend the emails several times over a period of 4-5 months. And despite that, and her telling me she would let her team know to get back to me every time I called her, I received no responses at all. After waiting far too long and having already spent over $1000 on Sonos hardware and Ring cameras I ordered before Christmas, I finally gave up and opted to use Treasure Valley Solutions to complete those projects in May 2024. Within two weeks, the work was quoted, scheduled, and completed, earning them a five star Yelp review from me earlier today. That said, I want to give iHome the benefit of a doubt since dropping the ball on managing this particular customer may be an exception. If I reviewed them anytime before the October 2023 quote, I would have rated them 4-5 stars. Today, however, they have lost me as a customer and I hope whatever issues prevented them from working with me won't affect anyone else. They do good work, as long as they show up to do it.
