I'm usually hesitant about going to a salon because 98.9% of my salon experiences end in regret and a good chunk of change wasted. I'm biracial with long, curly hair and my type of hair has only been conquered by one stylist. So when I decided this time to get a good amount of hair chopped, I did tons of google searching and read several reviews before booking with Audra. I saw nothing but positive reviews for Audra and decided to also book my mom with another of her stylists for the same time. I got a call earlier that day saying that my mom's stylist called in sick and would not be able to keep my mom's appointment. I explained to them that we had an event in two days and really needed both of our hair done. The lady placed me on hold before coming back to tell me that even though Audra was completely booked, she would squeeze my mom in. When we got there she took me first and even though there was mention around me of rescheduling other appointments, not once did Audra rush through me or my mom's hair or make us feel like we were inconveniencing her. I have been a client of Inspire owner, Audra Powers, for over 10 years. I began with Audra during her time in Mtn. Brook, AL and continue now that she is located in Huntsville, AL. Audra is the best!! When I say best I mean at everything! She is artistic and creative, she takes what you envision and adds her knowledge and gets you to a color you love even more than you thought. Here's my story. I started coloring my hair when I was 22. I had the same woman for 8 years. Then I lived to another state. Let's just say that finding a doctor in Madison to take new patients was tough, finding a color stylist I liked was near IMPOSSIBLE! I spent 3 years trying people out and they couldn't get my color right or took 4 hours to do a foil or wanted to only schedule on Sunday nights ‍. Then I found Audra. With this COVID-19 going on, I had a HUGE amount of quarantine hair needed to be taken care of. So I reached out to hairstylists such as Audra and two others (from different businesses). She contacted me back ASAP. (Still haven't heard from one and the other was delayed for the response.) Audra did contact me the day prior about what to get ready for and to make sure I had a mask available and present (otherwise, I wasn't going to be seen). So thank you for directions to the location and instructions on what I needed to do before starting on my hair. After getting paperwork filled out, and everything was done in order, we were to get started. She sat me down, and we went over all the work that needed to be done. (Mask must remain on at all times) I HAD ALOT OF HAIR. And my hair was dark to almost being BLACK, and she told me that it would take a lot to get it to the color I wanted. She was accommodating and understanding of everything. Especially if I had pain, she made sure I told her. She took care of me, and when the chemicals got too much. She allowed me to go out for a break to try and breath some fresh air. After all, it is said and done. I did enjoy the hair color that she has done for me, and I don't know if she posted before and after pics yet, but she does have them. I was scared upon making my appointment just because we had just moved to the area and it's hard to find an excellent stylist who knows their stuff when it comes to color etc. Randomly, my appointment was set with this excellent lady and let me tell you, it was an absolute wonderful experience from the first words we exchanged all the way through to my check out and paying for my services! I can honestly say I have never been so happy with the quality or price of my salon experience. Shelley shared with me the story of some of her many awards for her skills and she has experience and a natural talent. I was going for a total make over so she took the time to talk with me about what I wanted and helped me to decide what would work best for my hair. I had some facial waxing done as well and have never had waxing done that actually didn't hurt and cause me to have whelps afterward, but that is exactly what I got here! I started using Audra at Inspire last April and I will not go anywhere else or to anyone else. She is the first and only stylist I've used since I moved to Huntsville. I trust her with my hair and her opinions. I didn't have color in my hair and let her do it for me and let me tell you she is an expert! She always walks me through my ideas and shares what colors she is going to use and why and how it will look with my complexion. She takes her time and does the best I've ever had done with my hair. My schedule is hectic and sometimes go five months between colors, but the products she uses makes it last and actually my hair feels a lot better too. What is great is it is a one person salon and with the pandemic going on she is scheduling her clients where one is in at a time and she is cleaning everything and washing all towels and smocks before anyone else wears them. I had a mini facial and eyebrow waxing today and I will definitely be back! When I walked in, I felt like I was at a little French salon. I was greeted and asked if I would like a beverage. While I waited I noticed they had snacks and coffee available. They had items for sale like brushes, makeup bags etc and a separate room of hair products for sale as well. I was taken back to a quiet room where my eyebrows were done first and look beautiful! Then my mini facial was so relaxing. My skin feels soft and bright. Audra was amazing and so sweet. I was nervous going to a salon again with COVID but going to Audra my fears went away. As most businesses should, she prescreened me before letting me come in the salon asking about COVID exposure and sickness and checked my temp. She even provided sterilized smock to wear over my clothes and she wore a mask at all times. I felt completely safe and was amazed she would take the extra steps to keep her clients safe. I had a consultation with Audra about a cut & style I was needing for an upcoming photoshoot with my 3 month old. I had been planning it for months so I had very specific ideas about what I wanted as far as hairstyle. Very relaxing and knowledgeable, I went in not sure what I wanted nor needed. I had not had a cut in over 8 months and I was a hot mess. I'm new to the area and was looking for a good place to get my hair done. Everything about my visit was amazing. The environment was welcoming, they actually engage you in conversation. The service and quality was phenomenal. Jaime is an amazing stylist and listened to what I wanted and had great ideas as well. I got copper highlights with a haircut and I'm in love with it. I've gone to Audra now several times and she ALWAYS does an AMAZING job! I get compliments on my hair coloring constantly. Since COVID, I have been hesitant to get out much, but NO worries here!!!
