For the love of God do not move here. I am a very chill person but the list of annoying things is just too much. Check out all the negative google reviews and take them seriously!! I wish I did. Just half the things from my list: - Apartment flooded throughout the winter, didn't even replace our carpet, offer to move us, nothing. Just placed dehumidifiers & fans running continuously for a week while we comped the $350 energy bill. There is a mildew smell in the closet now. - So many appliances were broken at the time of move in & the overall state of the apartment was shocking. The Refrigerator had to be replaced, the dishwasher was broken and had so much gunk in it, multiple light fixtures were out. The patio has an old birds nest they didn't remove with bird feces ALL over the wall. But all Ashley in the office said is "We apologize it don't meet your standards & expectations". - They're trying to make you pay for parking at your own apartment. Telling you can't even back into a spot, own more than one vehicle. - It's JUNE and the pool isn't even open. Not to mention there are over 300 apartments and ONE very small pool. You're not even allowed in there to lay out. read more

Love living here! Audubon Place is lovely. The setting is very picturesque,wonderful large trees supplying shade,lots of green grass and blooming flowers,too. The apartments are well designed,generously sized,walk-in closets one can actually walk in.Pantries too! Roomy balconies from which to see the spectacular mountains and watch planes coming &going. We had complaints about people parking in handicap parking spots. It kept happening and we were eventually told we could have them towed. The last email exchanged stated that new handicap signs would be put up and the parking rules would be handed out to all residents. That's not what happened. Two handicap parking spaces were taken away. There are at least 5 of us in the building that need such spots. They left 3 only. We have legit placards. But, regardless of this issue for the 2 years that we have been here, we have had issue finding parking when we get home from work. The current manager wasn't very nice about the parking situation with me when I addressed it. So, we have decided to move because of the rudeness and the fact they are now asking residents to pay for Parking Pass which is 24 dollars a year per car. It doesn't guarantee you will have a parking spot at all. The parking rules aren't being enforced. Cars that are parked backward are supposed to be towed, they are not. Also, there are folks with more vehicles than allowed, yet the extra vehicles are still here. Management has instructed folks how to get away with extra vehicles. There's a news article in the Asheville Citizen Times where the actual builder/owner stated that only 1.5 parking spaces were made for 354 apartments. The apartments range from 1 bedroom to 3 bedroom. I don't recommend the apartment complex or Pegasus Residential at all. I am 52 years old and lived here all my life. I have lived in other apartment complexes, and this is the first one where this has occurred. Looking around talking to other apartment management companies, I was informed that handicap parking spaces usually are handled per need. If a resident needs one and one is not available, such parking space will be set up. Also, it is supposed to be a drug free community. We had complained about skunk weed fumigating our apartment. We moved from Nj to NC because my father was struggling with his health. We visited this complex often and were excited to move there. Several months after we moved in my father( who was a tenant as well ) passed away. We fell 2 weeks behind on the rent because of being out of work and funeral expenses, the eviction process started... they also allowed the upstairs neighbor to harass us. Siding with this person who was abusing his dog, flicking cigarettes at us from his patio, saying nasty things to us in passing, making it uncomfortable. The Management would send us nasty emails accusing us of harassing this tenant believing his lies. They are cold hearted and disrespectful. Stay away. read more

EDIT: I had upped my rating to 2 stars due to management coming to check out the issue in a timely manner but since have heard nothing regarding our windows and now that the cold weather has hit we have ice INSIDE OUR APARTMENT due to the installation on the windows. Even with the heat running we still get ice and it's only getting worse. Not to mention we are having to pay extra for running the heat when we otherwise wouldn't have to run it as often if the windows were sealed properly. Can't wait for our lease to be up to move out. When we moved in we weren't told we had a washer/dryer in our apartment so we brought our own which could not be placed in the apartment. Nowhere on the lease did it say we had one and we were moving from out of state so we couldn't look at the unit itself. On top of all that, their "move in ready" conditions were anything but. Had to clean the whole place myself, the carpet is worn in multiple places and there was mildew all over the bathroom showers. Worse of all is the sealants (or lack thereof) on all of the windows. Being in a humid climate there is a lot of moisture but it gets through everyday and causes mold to build up (see the pictures attached). Absolutely disgusting and not a place for my children to be living in. Have to constantly clean the windows to get the mold off. If you are looking for a place where you have to clean things that should have already been taken care of then this is the place for you. Will never recommend this place to anyone. If you want to pay $400 dollars to apply, submit all your paperwork for them to tell you the won't let you move in two days before your move in date this is the place. Love that they waited until we told our current apartment that we're leaving and won't tell us why it's denied. It's been great and they said even if we do find out it was a miscommunication from our previous apartment they won't let us move in. read more

I love living at Audubon Place. The apartments and amenities are beautiful. I love the pool in the summertime and yoga at any time. The gym is available and is very new whenever I have the ambition to do that. I love to walk the property and there's always a friendly smile as you pass by people. The clubhouse is a wonderful place to stop by. I do so almost daily, and I always feel welcome. read more

UPDATE 11/12/19 I learned a few things after this place let me out my lease. One of which being.. There started to be a lot of car break ins that started happening. It's because the management's incredible level of incompetence drove so many people away they had to open the property to Section 8 housing. Also, there was this nice guy who is a Disabled Veteran who would ride his motorized scooter around the apartment complex. Super nice guy. Always asked to pet my dog. Christina Crosby didn't think so. When she first got to the property she referred to him as an "eye sore". Also, someone who was trying to adhere to the new "Dog Policy" broke their ankle and is now suing the company. And just a little icing on the cake. People hate the office staff so much I hear they are throwing Dog Feces at the windows of the office itself. All of these fake 5 star reviews are nothing but coerced. One of which (name starts with P) was in the office complaining about Christina even before I was. If you rent here you are taking a risk. What if I'm wrong and lying about this whole thing? But what if I'm 100% right and telling you the truth about everything.. read more

I do not recommend Audubon Place Apartment homes. I've lived here for 6 months and have had an on going German cockroach problem for three months now since the first spray treatment. I've had four sprays and still have a problem. My apartment is clean, I actually clean it twice a week so it seems the infestation is coming from a neighbor however Audubon Place Apartments I've learned does not do preventative pest control, that they only come out to spray when a resident calls to report an issue but then wants to charge the resident ( me ) $400 to bomb my apartment. Seems a little steep to me since my rent for a two bedroom is $1490. For the price I'm paying I expect to live in a non cock roach infested area, not to mention the rent prices have just gone down about $150. Not only have I been forced to share my home with these bugs but I've called the office twice last week because Orkin ( pest control ) stood me up. They were scheduled to come to my home on the 28th. I called the next day to report the no show and was told I would be followed up with and now it's a week later and still no word as to what they plan on doing to rectify this issue, not to mention they want to charge me $400 to bomb but will let the issue drag out a week. I would steer clear from this property. read more

We recently moved from a 2 bedroom apartment here,where we have been living for 2 years, to a 3 bedroom one. Michelle took the time to show us the different available apartments on several occasions. She was such a big help with a plethora of information to help us make the decision on the right apartment for us! The maintenance staff are very quick to reply to any maintenance requests. They are professional, courteous and get the job done right! This is a pet friendly complex. We have enjoyed living here very much! New manage recently took over and that means new staff. The concerns are that convenience fees aren't waived regarding paying rent online amid a global pandemic . Instead an email was sent out as reminder that rent is due. Also making paying rent difficult for those who traditionally pay with money order or cashiers checks. Audubon Place has done nothing for the resident to ensure the livelihood of those who have been displaced from their employers, had hours cut, and or now adjusting to working from home . It's disappointing that the community isn't taking the existence of COVID 19 more seriously. read more

We have lived here for over 5 years. Not because we did not want to move. This place has gone down the drain. You're concerns will not be met with management. Parking is ridiculous. None. When you complain, the answer is always, "there is nothing we can do about it." If you want to speak to property manager, good luck. I don't believe it's the people who work is at fault, it's the owners of the property. They are now charging us to pay rent on line instead of paying by check at their office. Do not rent from this place. You will certainly be disappointed! Actually I do! Why don't they care! Why do residents pay an incredibly high price for such poor quality of living?! I have been living here for just over a month and discovered mice in my kitchen about 3 weeks ago. They sent one maintenance man who asked no questions, left a few traps and was gone in less than a minute. Barely looked at all for where they may have entered my home. After finding several mice in the traps, I requested yet another maintenance check to try to resolve the issue and yet again they sent a maintenance person who set a few traps, said he found a hole in the wall near my water heater where they may have entered, then left in no time. Since then, I've been hearing and seeing mice nearly every day and no one has been back to patch the hole in my wall. Not to mention the traps they left are poisonous and they placed them out in the open without a care for my dog who is less than 5lbs and could easily get very sick from the poison. Completely careless. I called again this morning and all the office had to say about it was that an exterminator MIGHT be coming next week. Still no word about someone fixing the hole in the wall, didn't even ask my name or apt number to insure that someone would come. Nearly $2000 in rent just to live with mice. I don't live in fifth, there's no reason I shouldn't be able to sleep due to the squeaking, no reason I should worry about my dog getting sick from the traps, no reason I shouldn't be able to store my food in my own pantry because it will get eaten by an unknown amount of mice. read more

The apartment complex is very nice, though a bit too big now that the expansion is finished. My only negative comment relates to the maintenance team. The maintenance lead has less personality than a rock and I believe someone on the team has sticky fingers. read more
