We have discussions forms so that we can interact with other students and gain perspective. Not to mention 2 live sessions per week with our chefs for any questions! Working with a client that contacted me after going to this online school for a semester. Getting the money promised to buy essential ingredients and items to complete the course has been a nightmare. As a student that is disabled and poor it has been impossible to complete the course because they keep withholding funds as promised and cause my client undue stress. It has been a fight trying to get finicial aid they promised to send per docs sent to them. My client was entitled to roughly 4 thousand dollars surplus as per email legers. Disclaimer I did not attend the school I just requested information. Do not request information if you do not want them calling you 4/5 times a day from different number just waiting for you to pick up. I understand calling once and leaving a message and then maybe following up with an email, but this is excessive. Granted yes, I could've just picked up the phone but we are in different time zones. The first call normally comes in at 7am...I am not even awake yet. The rest come when im at work and unable to pick up the phone. Escoffier had amazing programs that are very convenient for those that want to get the culinary education, but can't make it to a traditional on-site school. I was able to complete two programs while working two jobs. The instructors are actual chefs that have worked in the industry. They make themselves available to all students to assist them in completing the programs. I had instructors personally reach out to me to make sure I was doing ok with my studies. I have been going through a battle with this school from the start. To begin with they lie to you about a "grocery stipend" PLEASE check your paperwork as the boxes the financial aid department tells you not to worry about and check off, is your FEDERAL REFUND THAT THEY CLAIM IS A STIPEND FROM THEM. It is a gross misuse of authority and a full blown illegal practice. Secondly, there is supposed to be a patisserie kit, tool kit, spice kit, blah blah. The spices were so old they were grey. I had to go out and replace it all because at the end of the day this is an online program, I have to eat it, not them. The patisserie kit, never came. The "mystery box" at the end of our classes? Never came. While being a part of this 3 ring circus I have contacted many people all resulting in zero actions. Then upon class completions, I was given a career services advisor named Joe Powell, to help me find an externship. He told me it wasn't on him to find me a job and verbatim, told me to be dishonest about it being an externship and get the job first, with their resume template. Then tell them after, I was externing for school. Once I did this my job told me, they don't hire externs and I was let go.(due to the advice given by Joe Powell) After this I was contacted by Jane jepson for a capstone program. So while stressing about finding work for my externship, I was completing more assignments for school to keep up with trying to get this clearly useless piece of paper from this school. I now have had a job for a month working double shifts as a line cook, WHILE trying to come home and complete the capstone. Upon my completion they never updated my address for my diploma after calling maybe 6 times to update it. I got an email yesterday from the campus president KIRK BACHMANN (after threatening legal action) He told me he understands my concern about my diploma and read back my updated address. IT WAS COMPLETELY WRONG AGAIN. So after I finally told him I am filing a lawsuit against them and demanded he direct me where to file an administrative complaint he told me I could file it with him. Clearly I wasn't taking that for an answer. So what did they do next? Jane Jepson sent me a fake made up email to speak to their "ONBUDSMAN" and cut all contact with me. I emailed it and it was rejected by Gmail with a message of it not existing. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT FUND THIS SCAM SCHOOL. If you made the unfortunate decision like I did, please contact me for a class action lawsuit as I have 15 other participants ready to go as well. A friend of mine was going to another online school & I wanted to go as well. I couldn't attend that one as the class load was too heavy as I worked full time. So I found Auguste Escoffier. I called, applied & graduated in February 2024 with an Associate's Degree in Holistic Health & Wellness. I did my 2 externships back to back at a local family mission & not only served but baked as well. So then I decided to go get an Associate's Degree in Baking & Pastry. In May 2025 I will graduate with that degree. What an amazing journey this has been so far. I have learned much. At current time, I have to make a 2 tiered cake with fondant roses that is due Sunday (8.18.24) Since I have begun at Escoffier, I have made the Dean's list or President's list with a 4.0 average, I haven't seen those grades ever! All the Chef's have been amazing, staff has been great in answering my questions. Sometimes I had to leave messages but they did get back to me even if it was a text. As a person who attended this "school" I would avoid it like the plague !!! It is nothing but a diploma mill, in my opinion. It was expensive for what I received. I could have easily learned EVERYTHING from Youtube. Some of the so called instructors that I had were very poor instructors and had difficulty following the recipes. I would give 0 stars if possible. This school is absolute trash!! I enrolled in hopes of receiving my pastry arts degree and I 100% regret attending this school! I attended it until the final class in hopes to receive said degree and nothing. The teachers were very difficult to get ahold of to answer my questions since the live sessions were always at a time that I was at work. Outside of the tuition you are also paying for additional tools (they send you a few, but not nearly enough... Not even a rolling pin!) and expect you to put in 35+ hours a week for each class when I was instructed that it would be a part time program. I have had countless issues with this school and I would not recommend this school to anyone that I know... This school has very sketchy administration and staff practices. The enrollment process is misleading - they sign you up on your first call, but start the conversation as if it's an info session. The staff is not fully informed about the program whatsoever, they are just salespeople. One of the people I talked to couldn't even tell me if it was a Title IX school. You get bounced around to various staff people any time you try to get in touch with them. They never answer your questions directly and say they will send something or resolve on issue, but they don't unless you email, text, or call them repeatedly. I signed an Enrollment Contract at the end of the confusing initial phone call and regretted it immediately. I have had to use our email threads as written legal documents to ensure I cancelled my Enrollment because they never sent me an official document after numerous requests. I recently attended a home cook class titled "dinner date". Having taken a cooking class from a small operation in Louisville I was very excited to be taking a class at the esteemed Escoffier. Though the price was quite steep in my opinion ($75 per person) my date and I decided to give it a go (he had seeked the date out himself, quite impressive first date if you ask me). The menu included: classes caesar salad, pan roasted salmon filet with wild rice potato cakes & charred vinaigrette, grilled vegetable napoleons with herbed ricotta, and chocolate mousse with creme chantilly & fresh berries. Upon arrival I was greeted by Chef Dion and the cooking was well underway (I unfortunately got caught up on CU Football traffic and was about ten minutes late - not my best moment, and my date couldn't find the place he seemed to only find the administrative office which was a couple doors down in the same building). There were aprons and recipe packets strategically placed around the worktable as well as water glasses and a pitcher of ice-water. Everyone was working on individual projects so it was less instructional and more a group of people cooking together. Our instructor was extremely lovely (Chef Dion) and the other couple in the class were great fun. I really appreciated Chef's approachability, patience, and professionalism. She was filling in for another instructor and I feel she did an excellent job with the recipes she provided (she actually tweaked them a little here and there but I managed to find a pen so that I could revise the recipe handout). Being a literal person I did not find the recipes provided terribly helpful or explanatory. For example I was in charge of checking on the breadcrumbs (as they were already in the oven when I arrived). After taking them out of the oven I asked the Chef how she prepared them (she indicated oil and salt/pepper). The recipe in our packet simply states "Preheat oven to 325. Place the bread cubes on a sheet pan and place in oven until dried out". Since I wasn't involved in making all of the items for this dinner I really hope the other recipes were written with more instruction. As the class progressed we switched tasks as necessary to ensure all the food would be ready. What I really would have liked is if the class had a bit slower pace and the instructor walk us through each recipe. I was excited to see that there was red wine and crudite to enjoy while we prepared the food. Our classmates cut up some vegetables, cheese, and the wine well that was a bit more complicated. 2 of us spent about 15 minutes searching for a wine opener which was never found. Eventually a classmate exited the class and either purchased or borrowed a wine opener from a neighboring business (he nor his wife drank wine themselves). The food turned out fantastic and I was really excited about how the salmon turned out (I'm not a seafood person myself). I found it great fun to try new foods and also be able to possibly re-create them at home (sans industrial kitchen aid of course). I do want to note that Chef was awaiting 2-3 helpers the entire duration of the class. They never did show up. One thing I had joked about to my parents before taking this class was that I hoped for the price we paid ($75 each) we didn't end up doing the dishes - well that is exactly what happened. Thankfully one of our classmates really enjoyed doing dishes and he was more than happy spending the last 30+ minutes doing dishes. Overall I enjoyed the time I spent with my date, classmates, and Chef Dion. For the price I don't anticipate returning or recommending as I honestly expected more from Escoffier (in particular accurate detailed recipes, and helpers to do the dishes and ensure everything needed was there and ready for us). read more

Then I politely told Shannon the guy who I spoke to that the same things and yes I also mentioned that we have a new puppy and so it would be hard to take online classes at this time. His response was ok well when you are ready to take your schooling serious let us know I thought was a bit out of line and now I will never apply for online classes. My life as a mom is more important right now and honestly this was just a extra thing for me but I know way better cooks yes they are not professional but their food is made with love and it is homemade. They use a company called Triumph higher education group for their financial aid dept, if you start make sure you finish or you will owe thousands of dollars even if you completed 1 class with financial aid. So I applied for one of their in-person 9 month degrees around mid January if 2022. Of course, very excited at this prospect. I was heavily pushed to enroll in their February program that was starting less than 2 weeks from my application date, as the class size was allegedly smaller. I specified that I would need to start with the July summer program- as I'm almost 30, support myself, & cannot simply change my schedule on a whim. My FAFSA had not even been approved yet. Everything was finalized and I was informed that if I had any questions to contact financial aid. I did not have any questions, as I've been through school before and would reach out closer to July. My phone number changed, but I thought nothing of it as my email is on file- and if they need me, they can email me as we've had previous email correspondence. I've been receiving automatic emails every other day for their think piece articles as well. Tell me how I receive an auto generated email stating I've been UNENROLLED due to lack of contact? After being informed to contact THEM if I have any questions?? As of today, the July program doesn't start for another month. I called the Boulder campus, asking why I'm receiving this autogenerated email- and they inform me I've been unenrolled due to no contact. As they, "Prefer to stay in constant communication with their students." So why have they not emailed me at ALL if we've had previous email correspondence??It's literally insane to me lmao How is it my responsibility as a student to reach out and say: "Ayo! Still a working adult with a full time schedule reaching out to another working adult with a full time schedule- still don't have any questions, just dicking around to say hello(: " Make it make sense. I've enrolled into a different school, as honestly this was unacceptable. They claim there were communication attempts on their end- but clearly it was only by phone (and again, I had a temporary number for a while). It's not hard to get ahold of someone when you have the rest of their information on file. The individual I spoke with on the phone was mildly apologetic- but still tried to shift the blame back to me regarding lack of contact. Have been in this school for a month now and have learned nothing. The recipes you must follow are bland and so basic it feels like home economics class in junior high. Then you recieve criticism when you describe the food as boring and bland. The cook book that they teach from has amazing recipes in it that they could teach you from but don't. This is a scam school just like all other for profit schools. Easiest way to tell is how fast you get a call back when you show interest and that they are ranked "military friendly" just like Phoenix, CTU and the rest. I signed up a few weeks ago. I was kinda surprised the school didn't provide student I'd or emails. The google drive made me uncomfortable because it's giving access to your personal files. They figured out a way for the assignments that would be submitted through google drive. You we're getting phone calls daily, but wasn't giving proper information. You're being mislead and besides you can't learn Properly online for baking or cooking in my opinion and a real "Chef" confirmed that!.Food has to be tasted! you can't just go by presentation that can be misleading too. If you are attending anyone school they should provide you with student I'd # and email address also you shouldn't be going out hunting to do a community service in order to receive a diploma or certificate, unless it's for extra credit. I withdrew yesterday on 4/27/2021 this wasn't the right choice school for me. I sent in a email according to (Kiara) the academic advisor told me (James) the financial Aid advisor forwarded the email over to her and according to the manager (Glowlisa) I will not be receiving any bills nor would the school receive my financial Aid. So I started the baking program last year....I wish I hadn't. The only reason I'm finishing is so I don't owe a ton of money back in student loans. This school is a joke. I barely learned anything. Trying to get in touch with anyone is impossible! I once called the financial aid office 4-5 times before finally talking to someone. Another time I was put on hold for about 30-40 minutes. Just sad. When I did talk to someone they made me feel stupid and the gentlemen I spoke to had a awful attitude, like he hated his job. The teachers are okay....but nothing to brag about. I really wanted the reviews to be exaggerations but alas they were true. I decided I wanted to wait until I could attend in person and I communicated that via email, twice. I got a confirmation of receipt from someone so I know they went through. I told them in no uncertain terms I don't wish to enroll. They have yet to respond. I called and then a person who managed to hear what I was calling about but not my name called me back saying she couldn't make out the email. That's an awful lot of info to hear while simultaneously having "not being able to hear". This feels like a scam. I will send a letter from my lawyer perhaps they'll get that. read more
