Most people had been there before, but it was my first time experiencing a cooking competition. The chefs working made crepe-making fun and approachable. The dinner we had afterwards was decently delicious. It was exciting to guess what ingredients were in each dish. Good wine selection. Love the meats and cheeses served when we arrived. I'd be interested in taking a cooking class here as a date night someday!

SE Asia Street Food class This is our second class with Cook St. first time was a Mediterranean class years ago with Chef Devin don't remember but it was very good. Two people per station they prep all the ingredients and it's really beginner friendly without any culinary background. Cook St is really brave on the variety of options on world cuisines. Check their calendar they offer French, Mediterranean, Asian, knife skills, and professional programs. My favorite recipe was the 'Khao Soi' a Chin Haw dish influenced by Yunnan Chinese. You can find it at northern Thai restaurants they sell it off menu, it tastes similar to a 'Tom Kha' soup. I'm already looking at the calendar for the next class. This is a more efficient way for foodies to experience international food tour without having to fly across the world wasting jet fuel. 10% of global CO2 emissions are caused by the travel and tourism sector. I like to hug trees on Fridays!

One thing I didn't expect was its long 2.5 hrs. I wish they offered charcuterie or something that you can order to Nosh on. We made chocolate chip cookies first that we made spiders on. Next we made Royal Icing that was a bit tough to make and stiff. After we made cookie cut outs and baked. My only gripe is I wish they maybe did more of a soft icing and some toppings like sprinkles because the royal icing was hard to do any type of nice decoration on. Overall we left with a ton of cookies made and 2 big rolls of sugar cookie dough and chocolate chip cookie dough to Take home. I wish they offered more kids classes. I checked Nov and Dec and nothing showed.

My husband and I came here on a Saturday afternoon to grab some old fashioneds at the bar - we were the only patrons there so service was very quick. Chatted a bunch with the bartender who was very personable. Our drinks were perfectly made and overall, we had a really lovely time. The space was well designed, open and had a nice feel. The water was fruit infused which was a nice touch. As mentioned, we'll absolutely be coming back for a cooking class, but probably for another drink, too!

I had very brief encounters with him but his demeanor towards me seemed very rude. Asked him very simple questions but made me seem like I was asking him dumb questions. Second, the menu was not good. As someone who has been to a lot of Thai restaurants, this might have been for people who are not very familiar with authentic Thai food. I knew the class was over when the instructor told us to soak the rice paper into water for 30-45 seconds (I understand it was not warm water and we used tap water) Still, anyone who has actually has made spring rolls before knows that is way too long. Pad see ew was atrocious. Only used oyster sauce and tamari as sauces... don't really see the point of coming to a cooking class when your cabinet has better selection of spices/sauces. Chicken Khao Soi was decent. Paying 120 dollars for this class was a big mistake. I don't quite understand how they could charge this much knowing that the ingredients they used were fairly affordable. Honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Allison was very sweet. The place was very cute. Only 2 positives.

Stephanie is not only a great chef, but also a great instructor; she knows how to explain things in a way that non-chefs will understand, all while making her classes fun, not to mention delicious! Every single thing I've eaten in these classes has been foodgasmically delicious. And I don't use that term lightly. I am not a vegan. Not even close. But there is more than one vegan recipe that has worked its way into my regular rotation, thanks to Cooking for Luv. You'd be surprised how handy it can be to have a few animal-free recipes in your arsenal. Even the DESSERTS are healthy! Not that you can tell by how they taste. Whether you be vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, or whatever, Cooking for Luv is definitely worth it.

So imagine the pleasant surprise when the same friend had the same 4th of July party exactly one year later, only this time to discover that the person responsible for the most amazing food was her! There was so much thought that went into the food.. what I mean is, not only was it delicious, but there was something for everyone (vegans, paleos, veggies, people that just want to pig out and eat deep fried pickles with the best sweet and sour sauce... I didn't even know that was an option in life until that day). I digress. Ok.. so here you have all these different types of food, all delicious AND all following one unified theme.. 4th of July. In other words, even though there was something for everyone it didn't look like a pot luck dinner where everyone brings something different. My mind is being blow b/c I didn't appreciate this awareness until right now, as I am typing. I think this is one of the things that separates people that like to cook and make contrasts for the sake of just being different (nothing wrong with that for sure!), and a true chef. I would highly recommend her and my girlfriend and I are looking forward to having her do a private cooking class/meal with our friends! Dave ps: here site and facebook page rocks too!

Oof big miss Cooking…read moreclass was a group cooking class where we made the dishes together so each of us barely participated. I cut an onion and some herbs. I whisked some eggs. And I poured a little alcohol on the pot. Those were examples of my main tasks- I piped some mouse and potatoes and that's about it. In 3.5 hours. The chef was nice but very surfer chill vibe. He rushed through instructions -it was clear he has said that stuff a million times thinking it's boring to us but not realizing we actually wanted to hear it and learn. He did most of the cooking. He didn't even read the instructions in the packet to us, just took over and here and there and asked someone to stir or cut something. We didn't learn anything. And it was freezing. A few of us had our winter coats on. Food was just average. Tasted like something I would have cooked with no recipe (which is tasteless). Steak was overcooked and had a ton of fat on it. Potatoes were tasteless. Salad was ok. Mouse was ok. For Valentine's Day premium, expected more. Even Sur LA Table cooking lessons were better than this. There, I at least learned a little , got to cook my own food and the food was actually tasty and worth the wait.
