Ask the Community - Wildflower Preschool

Do you take 3 year old boy that is not potty trained? Also what is the cost range for attending 3x week?

Hi Maggie, Our preschool is licensed for children ages 2.5-5 yrs of age. We do not require that children be toilet trained to enroll in our program. Our tuition is based on…

The integration of language, executive functioning, and play is unmatched. Her confidence has skyrocketed. She now talks to peers, participates in circle time, and loves showing us the "brain-building games" they do each day. The communication from teachers is fantastic, and it genuinely feels like a partnership.

My son enrolled at Science of Learning Preschool in September 2025 shortly after turning three. The…read moreprogram appealed to us because of its focus on speech therapy and early learning support. Mrs. Alexis shared that she previously worked as a preschool teacher in a public school district and opened this program to provide more individualized attention with a smaller student-to-teacher ratio. At the time of enrollment, my son had recently aged out of Early Intervention services and did not qualify for special education through St. Vrain Valley Schools. Based on a recommendation from our speech therapist, we decided to enroll him. During our tour, the school appeared welcoming, and we were told my son would be the youngest student. Since it was a new program, we understood there would be some initial organization still in progress. My son attended two half days a week from September through November. During that time, however, I did not receive any communication from the speech therapist--no updates, progress reports, emails, or conference opportunities. I was told speech sessions took place upstairs, but I was never offered a tour of that space or the opportunity to meet the therapist, which felt like a lack of transparency. My son was still potty training and had occasional accidents. After accidents, he was typically placed in a pull-up rather than being supported in transitioning back to underwear. As a very active child who had never attended daycare before, he did have a few minor incidents with peers. Since transferring to a new preschool, he has had none, which suggests this environment may not have been the right fit for him. In November, after tuition had already been withdrawn, Mrs. Alexis scheduled a conference. I expected a discussion about my son's progress, but instead was told she believed he would do better in a public preschool program and suggested Child Find. This was discouraging, as we had already completed that process and he did not qualify. It was also disappointing that this conversation occurred mid-year, without earlier communication or an attempt to create a support plan. During the meeting, I was asked about occupational therapy despite that information being clearly included in my paperwork. Comments such as "he can't hold a pencil" made me feel that instead of helping him develop skills, the program had decided he wasn't a good fit. I also noticed most students appeared significantly older, closer to kindergarten age, which may have contributed to the challenges. When I asked if my son should return, I was told, "We want him here as long as you want him here," but it did not feel reassuring. Ultimately, I chose to withdraw him and find another program. Finding a new preschool in November was stressful, but thankfully we did. My son is now thriving--he loves school, has had no behavioral incidents, no potty accidents, and receives warm, consistent support. The difference has been significant. While Science of Learning Preschool may work well for some children, it was not the right fit for our younger, high-energy child. I hope the program improves communication with parents and strengthens individualized support, especially given that these are key aspects the school promotes.

I cannot in good faith recommend this school to any child or family. My child went to this school…read morefor about 1.5 years, starting at about 2.5. I have PTSD from the judgement my child received, lack of support, poor communication, and overall unprofessionalism of leadership. The teachers were very kind, but unfortunately, not fully equipped to support a variety of children's needs. My child has thrived since leaving this school and had zero issues with classmates and teachers. I believe if you're child is quite docile and loves to work alone that this could be a fine enough option for you, but if that's not the case, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere. And my best advice is just to talk to a handful of parents at the school. It can seem really nice on the surface, but the best way to know what it's really like is to talk to the community of parents that currently have children enrolled. Many felt the same way, but as you know, it's hard to find good childcare so it was the lesser of the evils for a lot of families. I fully expect the school to try to retaliate this review (as defense was often the communication I was met with for any concerns), but I hope that some of the professionalism has come back to the school and they will just receive the feedback and learn from it.

But the one thing that you can count on at Autana is them addressing and mediating any issues that may be happening. The women are sweet and nurturing. They teach structure and peace and love our kids. I love that they eat healthy snacks and do community activities with the families of the school so we can all get to know each other. If you are looking for women who really invest in their job this is the school for you.

He loves going there in the mornings and is always so happy when I peek in the classroom to see him in his element. The school uses a great reporting tool so my wife and I are updated regularly throughout the day. The communication from the teachers and administrators is top notch and they are incredibly responsive. They truly care about the well being of your child and the bonds they form are very real. I always felt like he was getting incredible attention and so much love from his caretakers. Knowing that he is in the best hands during the day is a huge relief for my wife and I. Do make sure to get on the waiting list well in advance. The classes are small and there aren't a lot of spots available. We signed up I think 7 months or so in advance and they were incredibly communicative about the process. The tuition fees are comparable to all other places in town but if feels like you're getting so much more. He gets to go outside for extended periods during the day which he absolutely loves and he gets a good long nap in the afternoon as well. The food is amazing and the place smells so good when I pick him up in the afternoons. The center of the building is an open kitchen where everything is prepared fresh each day. The menu is full of nutritious and adventurous foods for the kids and different every day. He eats all kinds of things for lunch that we could never get him to eat at home on our own as well as 2 healthy snacks. It's great not having to put together and pack up a days worth of food for him everyday when we're busy getting ready in the morning. At this point I couldn't imagine life without Treehouse. They are adding so much our child's development and we just feel incredibly thankful that they exist. All the kids and families seem so happy to be a part of the community there.
