I have never written a review before but would like to save people the nightmare of working with this woman. I booked an initial appointment with her 3 months in advance and scheduled a vacation day off work to be able to participate in the appt via phone. She completely no showed the appointment. She then returned my voicemail the next day wanting to reschedule me. She never once apologized for missing the apt and gaslighted me. I very politely asked to be refunded my $50 that I paid in advance and she was SO rude and told me "good luck because I won't be able to find another functional medicine doctor." I am a new client at Aum (started about 3 months ago) and working on improving my IBS symptoms/gut dysbiosis and lack of energy. Dr. Arora had me do many lab tests including blood, urine, and stool tests which was helpful for me as someone who loves data and finding the root cause of my symptoms. She prescribed me many supplements to improve my deficiencies and they have definitely helped! I feel more energetic and have less brain fog after only 2 weeks on the supplement plan when I previously had awful fatigue. Her targeted approach and use of the labs is great! Total fraud. If you have a Burger King habit and don't exercise and you have great insurance, then maybe they are ok for you. I was looking for a partner in my journey to wellness and ended up with a snake oil salesperson. So condescending. I saw Dr. Arora for about a year (4 appointments). The extent of the treatment included her telling me to cut out foods (gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, etc.) and having me buy TONS of supplements from the website Metagenics, which she gets a commission from. She often told me that her supplements were "cleaner," but I was able to find supplements on Amazon for much cheaper with identical ingredients list. Even after the pandemic, she would't see me in person, which I didn't love. How can you give me solid medical advice without a physical exam? She ran a ton of lab tests on me, which did provide useful information. I did find out that I have a gluten sensitivity. Unfortunately, after my last appointment with her, she never reached out again and I no longer have access to her online portal, so all of my lab results are inaccessible. It felt like she never reached out again because I didn't have some life-changing health improvement. For over $1000, I don't feel like her services were worth it! read more

I really wanted to have a good experience with Dr. Arora, but there were many unsavory interactions with her from my first visit to my last interaction a couple of months ago, and few positives. She was often unprofessional, non-responsive, and unsympathetic. A few examples: 1. In my first visit (August 2017), she chastised another patient of hers for continuing to breast feed her child who was two years old. What doctor says mom-shaming comments to their patients? 2. Most of the supplements she sold me didn't seem to make much of a difference. It also felt pressured as she wrote directions on the cap before telling you the price. While I do like to support small businesses, I also don't like to pay up to 40% more for something that doesn't seem to be helping. When I reported that some of the supplements weren't seeming helpful, she shrugged her shoulders. 3. She twice messed up my prescription after I submitted it to her via the patient portal. The first time she hadn't filled it in over a week (I had given her four days notice). The second time she sent over the incorrect medication and never responded to my email and phone message about the error. There was no acknowledgment of her oversight in either case. 4. My husband was unemployed for 5 1/2 months in 2017, and I had to postpone an appointment with her as I was uninsured (we are a single income household with a young child). Her response expressed no empathy, but a rushed message that said I would have to schedule a non-insured phone appointment with her the following month because it was the office policy to see patient's every three months. When I asked her what the cost was, I heard nothing back. 5. There are also a handful of other things - picking up the phone in the middle of my appointment, not asking me if it was okay with me that she had a couple of students who would sit in on our appointment, and messing up an appointment that I had rescheduled. I think she's the worst medical professional I have seen and I would discourage anybody I care about from seeing her. read more

A friend suggested that I see Dr. Arora because of my diagnosis of Breast Cancer along with IBS. I am excited to find a physician trained in both Eastern and Western Medicine. As a believer in the holistic lifestyle, I find Dr. Arora to be caring,professional and progressive. As I was reflecting tonight on how far my health has come in the last few years, I thought about Dr. Arora and how much she contributed to my progress. When I started seeing her, I had several neuropsychological conditions, adrenal fatigue, and hormone imbalances. I couldn't sleep, ever. Thinking about how my life has changed for the better due to Dr. Arora's care, I thought I'd hop online and write her a Yelp review. I was astounded, as well as saddened by what some people had to say about this wonderful office and doctor. It is true that Dr. Arora recommends supplements; and she prescribes them based on lab and blood tests which inform her diagnoses and her treatment plan. It was these supplements that helped me go from deficient, sad, and low energy to jubilant, happy, and healthy. It took a while, and required several refills before I was feeling better, but it often takes years to reverse a chronic condition. I think many of these reviewers come from the western medical world, where, 1) you leave with a prescription that works faster because it masks symptoms, but doesn't get to the root cause, and 2) medications are often less expensive because they are covered by insurance, supplements are not. I also want to add a little food for thought. When you go to a western doctor, many of them are selling you something all the time. An MRI, a surgery, a hospital stay. These services make so much money and nobody blinks an eye about how expensive they are. Much more expensive than a few months worth of supplements. My philosophy is to pay to remain healthy now so I don't need a hospital stay, a surgery, or a prescription later. What a worthy investment, in yourself. My experience with Dr. Arora was so positive, that I often refer my friends, family, and acupuncture patients to her. If you want a quick fix, but don't want to heal your body, this is not the type of medicine for you. If you want excellent results and a healthy body and mind, please go see Dr. Arora. I initially started seeing Dr. Arora for symptoms of adrenal fatigue a couple of years ago. She was my first visit with a doctor who practices functional medicine, and I was excited to find a doctor who appeared to practice a holistic approach to healing. During my first couple of appointments, she functioned in the capacity of a nutritionist. At the time, this was helpful and I found it convenient that I could walk home from my appointment with the supplements she was recommending. My review regards Aum Healing Center's lack of professionalism and communication after I asked Dr. Arora to be my PCP. In the few instances that I called the office to schedule an appointment for health concerns that arose, I would wait days or receive no response without also sending an email to the office cc'ing her account. The resolution was consistently waiting a week or more for an appointment so I went to Urgent Care instead. The scenario that caused me to change doctors was the lack of care I received when a significant medical issue occurred. I had reached out to the office several times trying to schedule an appointment so that I could get a referral to a physiatrist. The secretary from the Spine Center in Newton came to the rescue and made calls so that I could be seen; Aum completed a referral without me visiting, but I later ended up in the hospital. Her office assistant called me while I was there, asking me to schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Arora. I told the assistant that I would like to speak to my doctor; I never received a call from Dr. Arora and have since been locked out of the online system that has my records with no communication back from her office. Aum Healing Center met my needs when I was healthy, but her office staff has no sense of urgency or professionalism, and Dr. Arora was nearly incapable of functioning as a PCP. read more

I initially wrote a glowing review of Dr. Arora and her practice, but after 3+ years of seeing her and subsequently having to find a new PCP (and an endo that will prescribe my preferred thyroid medication), I feel like I need to let people in on how she treats her long time patients (hint: not well at all). This became more apparent over time. Take it from a long-time patient that YOU SHOULD NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH AUM HEALING CENTER. I came in to see Arora with issues including Hashimoto's and Celiac (both of which she diagnosed). I was thrilled in the beginning to finally know what was wrong with me, but as time went on, I came to realize that her patients are simply a source of income for her and that her knowledge seems to be lacking. Here's why: 1. As other reviewers have noted, she pushes supplements on every patient and makes you feel guilty if you do not buy them from her. (i.e. "why don't you support local businesses?" when I said I recently bought my B vitamin from Amazon). 2. Most doctors insist on 1x/year thyroid tests after levels are stabilized. Arora insisted on seeing me every 3 months, and each time I went I was able to convince her that 1x/6 months was sufficient, as my levels had not changed in 3 years. I also asked her to ONLY test my thyroid levels, but most times she insisted on testing everything under the sun, which would end up costing me $300+ dollars every time I got blood tests. There was not anything that was "off" with my blood work that would prompt her to run all of these tests. 3. She actually charged me a co-pay for a 10 minute "phone appointment" that I literally got no value out of instead of answering a simple email (which is a gmail account by the way). 4. The last straw was when I needed an INSURANCE referral (not a prescription) for a last minute PT appointment I had day-of to treat a tweaked back (a chronic issue she has known about, or should have known about over the last 3+ years of seeing me) after working out one day. She refused to write me a referral after my appt, unless she had seen me in the last 4 months, despite having done this at least once in the past. The PT office told me this is unheard of and that an insurance referral is simply a formality and that they had never had a doctor take this position (I had seen her only 5 months prior!!). So, after having her receptionist call me 3 times and me pushing back on this position, she settled on another "phone appointment" to discuss my back in order to be able to write a referral. Sort of ironic that she's able to "diagnose" and "look at" a back injury over the phone for a PT referral. She very clearly wanted to profit off of another co-pay, even though I was coming in to see her every 6 months for my thyroid/checkup, and paying my co-pay. There have been a few other issues (such as her Googling medical information during an appointment, making me feel guilty for certain medications I was taking that were prescribed to me by specialists) that have made me question her competency. I put up with this for so long in order to be able to take my preferred thyroid medication, but a little bit of research proved that other healthcare professionals are also open to prescribing it. I am so glad that I will not have to constantly battle with Arora, and won't have to feel like I am constantly on the defensive whenever I need a bit of cooperation (unless, of course, I offer to pay her for a useless 10 minute phone conversation). SAVE YOUR TIME, ENERGY AND MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE! EDIT: After seeing my new primary care doctor, I realized that I should have mentioned that Dr. Arora also did not do general tests of "wellness" during office visits/check ups that are standard at other practices, such as pulse, oxygen levels, temperature, blood pressure, height/weight etc. (she may have done height/weight once at my first appt, but I cannot remember). She also does not have phlebotomist(s) on staff, so you must take a special trip to another facility to get blood work done. read more

STAY AWAY from here! I went to Dr. Arora because I have autoimmune disorders and I thought she would be able to assist me in finding a way to manage my health issues. However, it was a HUGE mistake. Dr. Arora assured me one of the tests she ordered would cost a total of $171, which I paid in full. Then, for the next few months, I received additional bills totaling $2,132. I have called dozens of times, messaged the doctor, and left voicemails. Dr. Arora told me to ignore the bills and then NEVER again responded to my messages. I also felt like she was constantly trying to sell me supplements and a $75 one day meditation session. This place is extremely disorganized and has serious communication issues. I went to Doctor Aurora after being extremely let down by Western Medicine and multiple doctors who were unable to diagnose an auto immune condition I had been dealing with for years. She sat down a listened to my ENTIRE story which is something I never got from a doctor before and pointed out that my thyroid was enlarged pretty much immediately (why had no one seen this before?). With her help I made huge changes to my lifestyle and am almost 100% symptom free. At first I was very happy with the care she gave me and the attention to detail she used. This is a very smart woman and a good doctor. As time went on I wanted to loosen the reins on some of the lifestyle adjustment to see how my body would react - things like drink alcohol or put certain vegetables back into my diet - in trying to be honest and open in my communication I felt really judged by her. She made me feel as though the decisions I was making about my own body were terrible even I was just being a human being trying to actually live my life without living in a bubble. Eventually I decided to stop seeing her because of the guilt she made me feel. In terms of the supplements, yeah she wants you to buy stuff from her, but it's really high quality and I felt fine purchasing things from her. Like I said, she helped me! Seeing her is most definitely a luxury and not for those short on cash. What was perhaps the worst was her communication, mostly lack there of, and reluctance to engage with insurance companies. Everything had to be paid for up front and then she would have her office send me documents that I needed to submit to my insurance company. They were really confusing and I was offered no help in the process. To top it off, without telling me, she ordered an experimental test which wasn't covered by my insurance company, and I was billed an additional $337 by Quest. I asked her to submit an appeal to my insurance company to see if they would cover it. I gave her as much info as I could possibly put together to make it easy for her to do so - it's been months and she still hasn't done it. So now I'm just stuck with the bill. I gave her a 3 star rating because I am thankful for her presence and help in my life, but really let down with the communication and $ side of things, as well as the guilt. I'm glad I saw her, but won't continue to do so. read more

If you are looking for an easy out, no work needed, take some pills to solve your problem doctor then this is not the place for you! I chose Dr. Arora because of her specialty in Functional Medicine! What is Functional Medicine you might ask, it is when your Doctor treats your whole body as a system. Wait your doctor's aren't already doing that? If you are like me, sick and tired of going to the doctor with symptoms who run test after test, which cost money but provide no answers, come see Dr. Arora. For example: I had a constant migraine for 6 weeks and my doctors at the time (not Dr. Arora) gave me medicine, ran test after test with no solution presenting itself, even after having an MRI and seeing a neurologist. Only to find out from my own process of elimination that I was having an allergic reaction to laundry detergent for that entire time. No more detergent, no more migraine it felt like a miracle. The first thing Dr. Arora suggested was removing any allergens from my diet that could be causing my symptoms. If I had been seeing her during my migraine from heck(you know I want to use a different word here), I bet it would haves been figured out much faster and by an MD rather then little old me playing guess and check. So about removing allergens from my diet, in case your wondering it is HARD work. Dr. Arora has a very talented Fitness Professional & Performance Coach in her office Mr. Chris Carreiro also affectionately known in his daily inspirational emails as Coach Chris, who holds my hand through this process. He pushes when I'm being stubborn and supportive when I am struggling, just what I need to stay on track. Within the last year, with their combined help, I have lost 35lbs so far, and gone from a size 16 to a size 10 and am still shrinking. They work with me, around my hectic work schedule, offer quick meal options to keep me eating right even when I am working double shifts at my job. I am not going to lie, changing your lifestyle and eating habits is tough work but I was falling asleep at really inopportune moments, like driving or during meetings, and I needed drastic changes to continue living my life in a happy and healthy way. I recommend Dr. Arora and her methods to my parents, friends and sisters(2 of whom have M.S.) and strangers as a great alternative resource to the "take a pill" doctoring method. read more

I found this clinic and Dr. Arora from Yelp. I'm leaving this review to balance out the other positive reviews so that you don't experience what I did. I went to Dr. Arora in really bad shape; I was in the worst health I've been in my life and needed compassionate and thoughtful care. Dr. Arora listened to me and it seemed like she was just listening to my symptoms to figure out which supplements she could sell me. I was really turned off because I had experiences in past working with more holistic doctors who were more like salesmen than healers. It seems like Dr. Arora is no different. She sells a bunch of supplements and powders in the front of the clinic. Look at how the State Board of Medicine took disciplinary action against her for "failing to disclose fully to a patient the nature of her agreement with a company to sell their products." (Citation here: http://www.mass.gov/eohhs/docs/borim/press-20111901.doc). What REALLY turned me off was the fact that she told me to buy one of the powder shakes she sells, when it contained SOY, which I told her I was severely allergic to. She either doesn't know what's in her products or doesn't care. Good thing I was vigilant and looked at the ingredients before I wasted $70. She then gave me a sample pack of that powder and told me to try it... Does she not understand how food allergies works? Eating a smaller amount of something still triggers a reaction. On top of this, when I asked her about food allergy testing, she told me about two different options. Dr. Arora obviously recommended the more expensive option, which I ended up going with. Then she took out the kit (charged me $25 for it) and started reading the instructions on how to use it. WHEN SHE TOLD ME SHE HAD USED THAT KIT MANY TIMES WITH OTHER PATIENTS. That is clearly a lie or exaggeration. She did not know that the sample was supposed to be kept cold/frozen. That was the ultimate blow to my confidence in her. The story goes on. Dr. Arora calls me after my appointment to tell me I owe a co pay and deductible and asks me for a credit card. I told her I would send her a check because I didn't want to give my credit card info over the phone. And she kept going on asking me when I was going to send the check and when would the money arrive? I felt harassed. Since when do doctors have free time to call up patients and harass them for money? I cancelled my next appointment because I didn't want to entrust my health with a Dr. like her and she told me that I now also owed $100 because I didn't cancel two days in advance. I was never notified about this policy BEFOREHAND. Even after I told her I just wanted my test results and didn't want to continue my care with her, she e-mails me with another sales pitch, saying I could discuss the results with her and recommends that I go the Rothfeld Center in Waltham and that I should talk to Sara Raimundo if I make an appointment there. Does anyone else who read this far think that she probably has some deal with the Rothfeld Center to make patient referrals? Save yourself a dehumanizing experience and go get your care somewhere else. I, unfortunately, had a very similar experience as Charlie and Gena. I went to Dr. Arora looking for relief from severe headaches and dizziness. Over the years, I have dealt with sinus issues, and even had sinus surgery in the past. However, there was little improvement in my condition post-surgery. I was wary of going back to an ENT and was hoping a more natural approach might help. The fact that Dr. Arora was an MD with a background in natural medicine attracted me to her practice, and I was hopeful that she could balance the two schools of thought in my treatment. In my first visit with her, she spent a long time going through questions regarding my medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, etc. She then diagnosed me with food related inflammation and recommended an impressive number of supplements (all of which were sold through her practice). One of the supplements was a one-month supply of a breakfast shake that was supposed to reduce inflammation. In the mean time, she put me on an extreme version of a paleo diet - white, grass-fed meat, wild-caught fish, and leafy vegetables. No fruit, no sugar, no alcohol, no soy, no corn, no wheat. I told her I would be traveling 4 days a week, and she said I should cook my meals ahead of time. Upon telling her I could not travel with a week's worth of food in a carry-on, she responded, "If you have a bad attitude about this, there's nothing I can do." After a month or two of religious adherence to the diet and supplements, I felt no improvement. After seeing her again, she changed my shake-supplement to something else. When I asked her the reasoning behind the new supplement, she balked. Her explanation was that it was a "good product" and "should help" with no other explanation. Desperate for relief, I went with it, and continued the diet. Please note, Dr. Arora has been fined for not disclosing information about her connection to the supplements partners: http://www.­mass.gov/eohhs/­docs/borim/­press-20111901.­doc After another month, I saw no results. I returned to her, and her response was that I should go back to the original shake-supplement along with the other supplements she was selling. At that point, I lost it. I asked her why, if the shake didn't help the first time, she thought it would help me a second time? She said, "Because it fundamentally helps with inflammation. And you need help with that." If that was the case, why did she take me off of it in the first place? And why didn't it help the first time? In front of two interns she had sitting in the room (whom she directed to go through all of my medical history for a second time on my third visit - while she was not in the room), I told her I would not be returning. At that point I went back to a new ENT who ran a CT scan, discovered a dangerous blockage in my frontal sinus that was threatening my vision and required urgent surgery. I had the surgery, and my condition has improved greatly. If I had stayed with Dr. Arora, it would have been left completely undiscovered. In my opinion, Dr. Arora is a dangerous practitioner. She may have good intentions, but she offers boiler-plate solutions lacking in clear reasoning. The fact that her solutions bankroll her supplement business only makes it worse. read more

I am a senior citizen dealing the aging process, I have worked with the top medical teams in the Boston area. This has taken tremendous time and has been very disappointing. My experience with Aum Healing Center has changed my life...especially my attitude. I have toyed with writing a review for some time about Dr. Arora. I wanted to wait long enough to make sure I wasn't just bitter based on the treatment I received there. Full disclosure, I only lasted about 6 months in the practice because I couldn't take her condescending attitude any longer. As another review pointed out, there are interns who take the notes on the computer and Dr. Arora seems so much more interested in the transcription than the patient. I never felt heard, ever. She made a snarky comment about metal in my mouth from fillings, asked if eating yogurt would bring me "joy" and is overall very unlikable. I went to another practice and was better almost immediately. They used the results of a test that Dr. Arora took to help me feel better. She missed the diagnosis completely, perhaps she was too busy transcribing notes? read more

Dr. arora is eager to sell you supplements. And right away on your first visit before test results. In my visit, I described my health concerns and supplements I take but I felt she was not mentally present nor even interested. She gave no health advice or insight except to buy supplements from her, mostly the ones I told her I already have. And she made me very uncomfortable when I repeated that I already have them and take them regularly. She proceeded in suggesting more. I felt I had to say yes to at least one or she wouldn't stop. It seemed she needed to sell me at least one. Creepy. Beware of doctors who profit on their advice nor inform you she is profiting. And Arora does not indicate alternatives for purchasing the same supplements at other retailers. For the supplements I already have, she wanted me to buy only the brand she sells because she wasn't familiar with the brand on the bottles I showed her even though they are commonly sold at Whole Foods. It tells me she is not knowledgeable enough in supplements to professionally recommend one brand over another. I definitely left with the feeling that she looked at me as a revenue stream for selling supplements and not as a patient. And I easily found the same brand supplement she recommended at another retailer at a lower price, so she also helps herself to full profit. The conflict of interest is clear...and it's particularly shameful in healthcare where the provider relationship needs to be trustworthy for the patient. The reason it's illegal for doctors to profit from the medications they prescribe is due to the conflict of interest. Prescription meds are regulated. Unfortunately, supplements are not regulated so there is no conflict of interest protection for patients. This leaves innocent and trusting patients vulnerable to unethical providers. If you are Interested in finding a doctor who is motivated to help you be healthy then I hope this review provides you ways to detect when a provider is trying to take financial advantage of you instead. If you like a provider who profits on advice to you, has conflict of interest, ignores your concerns, and not pay attention to what you tell her then Dr. Arora may be for you. Or you can first try going gluten and dairy free, avoid sugar, take probiotic, vit D, vit C, and a multivitamin and see how you feel. You can also try taking Magnesium and B12. You might find you feel better. In addition, buy food from farmers markets and farm stands. Go vegetarian at least one day a week. Buy organic meats, fish, poultry. Allandale farm, Wilson farm, Russos, Volante are great places to get healthy local and in season fruits and veg. Check out Owen's Poultry Farm in Newton for fresh eggs, chicken and other poultry. Lots of places specialize in fresh seafood: capt Mardens and Brighton fish company. I like to get my seafood from Jordan Brothers who sell at various markets on various days. Do not trust Dr. Arora with your health, well-being, or wallet!! One star is too generous for this callous, money hungry, deceitful "doctor". At my first appointment, she was pleasant and seemed like she was listening to me. I had blood work done and got a diagnosis. She told me over the phone because I was on a road trip. She charged me $200 for a 10 minute phone call where she didn't explain anything to me! Fast forward 3 WEEKS, I've been trying to get in contact with her for clarification about my dietary changes. I FINALLY spoke to her (ANOTHER 10 min conversation for $200) and she says "you shouldn't be eating any corn, rice, or potatoes" when I told her at the first visit I was eating a starch based vegan diet. After 2 1/2 months of no medication (and having to quit my job because of constantly being sick) I had the flu so we did another phone appointment (yes $200) and she tells me the original diagnosis is incorrect, is extremely rude to me on the phone, and asks if I'm eating DAIRY...Do you not have a file on me?! It was like we had never spoken before!! She was nothing but rude, distant, and cold about my illness, and truly felt like she was using me for money. Very disappointing. There was a different intern in the room every time I had an appointment making me feel more like a guinea pig than a person. Her bedside manner ranged between nice and dismissively cold, depending on her mood. She doesn't really listen or follow up on previous visits or bloodwork and seems unprepared for her appointments. This is a business before it is a place for healing. If you do not have endless money and time to spend supporting Dr. Arora's business, go elsewhere. As the reviews mention, Dr. Arora does listen (though, from what I witnessed, she might also be gmail chatting at the same time). Still, I was interested in taking the holistic approach to heal some issues, and went in hoping to get to the heart of the matter through some of the in-depth blood tests etc. The blood tests were extensive, but when they came back there were no tests of a main hormone level that should have been included based on my health issue (as proof of it's necessity, Dr. Arora ordered it after the fact -- at yet another round of blood tests). Additionally, there were no tests addressing the food sensitivity I specifically mentioned wanting to get to the bottom of. Instead, there was simply a list of pretty much every food allergen I should not eat, but with no confirmation of what might really be the issue there. Just judgment at my reaction to eliminating everything, as opposed to a more targeted selection. To be fair, some of the tests were helpful, and did confirm some of what I already suspected. However, Dr. Arora wanted to continue the blood tests, so based on the faulty range of the first round, I decided to take action based on what I'd already learned, and cancelled my third appointment. Due to the fact that I'd made Dr. Arora my PCP, I was thinking of going back and looking past the above issues and giving it another chance... until today. I needed a referral to a dermatologist -- a specialist I've been going to for a while, as needed, for topicals that work for me, and with whom I'd already scheduled an appointment, being that a) this is a very reasonable, usual request, and b) this was for one of the main issues I'd gone to Dr. Arora about--so not anything out of the blue. However, I was told I must come to see her again before she would refer me to the dermatologist, since it was 5 months since my last appointment, and I never finished all the follow up blood tests she wanted. First, 5 months is NOT a long time since seeing one's family doctor, and second, this was not some random, made up problem she needed to verify -- this was one of the main reasons I went to see her. So in sum, not my PCP anymore. And to address a previous comment regarding the necessity of running a business, I agree, running your business is necessary, however, for a place of healing, I expect my doctor not to run her business at my unnecessary expense. Dr. Arora is junior and inexperienced. It seems her primary goal is to order unnecessary tests, scare patients with faulty results and convince them to buy supplements. Her bedside manner is dismissive and aloof. With my hand on my heart, I cannot recommend Dr. Arora or this practice. Please consider the Marino Center or other reputable and experienced doctor's office and save yourself the stress and upset I have endured at AUM. read more

This woman is a fraud. Please do not trust her. I went to her for a several months. She misdiagnosed me. Also, she looked at my cholesterol results and said I could have a heart attack at any time.(This is why I did my research and got a new physician). My cholesterol levels combined were slightly over 200. My HDL which is the good cholesterol was almost double what most people have which is great and my LDL was way under 100 mg/dl . When broken down this is number is very good per my physician I am now seeing from Mass General. I work out everyday and eat whole and weigh under 110. This is why my HDL is high and helps for heart disease etc..She is only about making money and pushing supplements and her husband the health coach Chris Carreiro. She also charged me a copayment for 5 minute call. She has no people skills , poor listener and did not treat me like a human being. I would stay away from her practice . read more

Dr Arora helped me figure out what no other doctor could regarding my thyroid. She has helped me so much in terms of nutrition, energy and has completely changed my health around. She then kept me healthy through my pregnancy! She is amazing and other staff at aum were very helpful as well. read more

Dr. Arora is, in a word, amazing. Not only is she super sweet and considerate, but she is incredibly talented with what she does and she has a real passion for it. Backstory: I went into Dr. Arora's office for the first time to address digestive issues, anxiety issues, and panic attacks. For the first time ever, I felt hopeful after leaving a doctor appointment. Traditional doctors have always just thrown antibiotics in my face or told me I was fine (even though I didn't feel fine -- I had a stomach the size of a pregnant woman on days of digestive distress). Despite having a healthy, plant based diet before going to see her, there was something missing. We thoroughly discussed my health history, what I was eating, and a plan for the future. She suggested some supplements from her office (she was never pushy about it though) and we scheduled blood work and a follow up appointment. I felt like she was really listening to me the entire time and not judging at all -- so not only is her method effective, but her approach is calming and friendly. Fast forward to one month after my initial appointment: I feel SO much better. My energy has improved, I have not had any panic attacks, and my digestion has improved immensely. I no longer have to stop in the middle of the workout because my digestive system is in knots, or turn down get-togethers with friends because I'm not feeling well. I cannot thank Dr. Arora enough for what she has done for me. She's smart, friendly, well-versed in functional medicine, and just an all around great doctor. Dr Arora is a kind and committed practitioner who I believe is sincerely devoted to the well being of her patients. She is both inquisitive and thorough in her holistic approach. I have gained a great deal of self-knowledge and have made tremendous progress with her prescription for my well being. I don't think she is interesting in "selling" supplements, but rather in using them as an added means to healing beyond basic changes in diet. Some of the supplements are expensive, but I've had luck in finding cheaper supplements of equal quality. read more

Dr. Arora has been my doctor for almost three years. I was referred to her due to lingering symptoms from Chronic Lyme disease. I also had a mild case of psoriasis for over thirty years. First, I really like the fact that she was classically trained and worked in internal medicine for many years. She witnessed first hand, the recidivism in our healthcare system due to routine lifestyle related diseases. Lots of people have poor diets and don't understand nutrition and how it effects the immune system. She went back to school to get trained in Functional Medicine which focuses on the root cause of disease rather than the symptoms which is what traditional medicine does. About two years ago I was referred to Dr. Arora by one of my coworkers. My son and I have been going to her for about two years now. I was on the road to a healthier way of living but I needed a physician who shared the same views and not push a lot of medications on me. There was one issue I was having for years and when I went to Dr. Arora, I found out that I just needed to take a probiotic and I haven't had the problem since. My other doctor never brought that up, not even once. I also developed plantar fasciitis after playing basketball after work. For a whole year I thought nothing could be done about it and have thought there was no cure, only to buy ortho shoes, get a shot or go to therapy. After explaining my problem to Dr. Arora she was able to help me find the trigger, which was inflammation due to high sugar content and after developing an eating plan and cutting certain foods out of my diet, my foot felt a whole lot better and the pain was gone. Dr. Arora is not only a great physician, she is also a good listener. When I talked to her, I can tell that she was listening attentively and was focused on what I was saying. Before giving me anything she sent me to get my Labs done and based on my history and my family history she gave me a few suppliments I should take. Also, depending on your needs and what your not getting daily from other foods is what she will recommend. I am extremely happy with the level of care, professionalism and sincere dedication that I have received at the AUM healing center. Integrative medicine, focuses on the concept of treating the whole person as opposed to addressing individual symptoms with medications and drugs. That being said, we are currently surrounded by a healthcare system, which for many things, still treats symptomatically. For example, if you have a sinus infection beyond antibiotics you are likely going to address this with steroids and decongestants. If you have an upset stomach, antacids - high cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes are all addressed with medication. While there is an understandable value in having medications to treat very serious conditions, moreover than not we can really change the dynamics of our environment, nutrition and lifestyle to give our bodies a chance to heal. This is where the field of integrative medicine is paramount in helping patients. It provides the patient with the opportunity to understand the body as a dynamical and balanced system, and make the necessary changes to restore that balance. Dr. Arora and her counterpart Mr. Carreiro have been exceptional in their ability to assess, diagnose and guide this process. For me personally, I had reached a point where I wanted to focus on a much better and healthier way of living. The changes I have experienced are not only profound in their effect on my health but I am also acquiring a knowledge base that I am sharing with my family and friends. Having said that, please understand that it is truly up to the patient to take the lead on their health and make the necessary commitment to change. Reflection and transformation are part of the process but they need to be owned and desired by you. Finally, I would like to address supplements. We live in a healthcare environment where we would not hesitate to pick up prescriptions manufactured by pharmaceutical companies, however we seem to enter into debates on supplements. I grew up taking vitamins, so supplements have always been part of my regimen. I am well aware that not all supplements are created equal and unfortunately there are significant numbers of non-standardized products. This is why I am extremely glad to have connected with incredibly high quality supplements from a company (Metagenics) which not only does extensive R&D but they also have very strict controls and testing of their products. Just to be clear, I asked for supplements because I inherently believe in their value to help address deficiencies as well as help heal other areas. I can very clearly state that the difference between what I was taking before (and now) is significant. AUM healing has changed the course of my life, and I am very appreciative of that process. I have been going to AUM Healing for almost one year. I went to there searching options for my thyroid nodules, gall bladder issues and other digestive health troubles that my conventional primary care doctor was unable to treat without biopsies or other invasive testing. Dr. Arora and I had a one hour appointment on my first visit so that she could review my history and get a feel for what I was dealing with. I have never had a one hour appointment with any doctor, ever! I knew then that she wanted to help me. She ordered blood tests and recommended I try a detox diet to get started. After much research on my own, I knew i was on the right track by following her plan. She had me back in two weeks to review my medical records and the results of those tests. She helped me get on a healthy diet and to help eliminate some of the digestive troubles. She assisted me with which supplements to take and which not to bother with. Most of the brands I was taking seemed to be okay with her so I keep taking them. She made recommendations on dosage. She also helped me to get set up for vitamin infusion therapy at the Rothfeld Center. In the spring I attended a Detox seminar at the center free of charge. The fact that she can treat my body as a whole and not farm out to the specialty doctors is a real bonus. I believe that Integrative Medicine is the way to go. Get to know your doctor and let them get to know you! This is the only way for them to find out what is going on. A little trust can go a long way. I've never been given the time and attention from any other doctor in my 52 years. The approach might be different from what you are used to, but if what your used to isn't helping you, then definitely give AUM Healing a call. read more
