Tucked under the stairs of The Food Haven at 77 is Auntie May's Home Kitchen. I was actually drawn to the place because the familiar smell of sizzling steak was wafting I'm the air. I had to check it out!
I would like to bring you back to my high school days. I would make sure to save a bit of my allowance everyday so that I could splurge on lunch when Friday arrives. What was everyone's lunch splurge? The sizzling steak or sizzling blue marlin at the semi-expensive lunch stall of the cafeteria! Yes, sizzling hot plates! Joys from my childhood. :3 Anywaysss, I brought that memory up for the main reason that Auntie May's is THAT high school stall. Their menu has the sizzling steak AND sizzling blue marlin. I had to order both!
I ordered the Sizzling T-Bone Steak and Blue Marlin, each for Php200. The sizzling plates came with rice and the nominal veggies; steak was drowning in gravy and the marlin was bathed in lemon butter sauce. OMG! Remember that moment in 'Ratatouille' where the food critic took a bite and was brought back to his Mama? YEAH~~~ that happened to ME! It happened the moment I had a bite of the Blue Marlin. Waaahhh! Memories! So good!
Oh! They also serve freshly squeezed lemon juice here! You can actually see the ladies squeezing the lemons for they serve it to you. :) read more
