By this obscure Congressional Avenue Extension Shell gasoline station that we stumbled upon HID after having a friend's car washed nearby. HID stands for "Healthy and Irresistibly Delicious." I'm no nutritionist, but my initial thought as my friend parked his car was how I found it very difficult to make sense of the words "healthy" and "burgers" put together. When we entered, we discovered that the healthy part was a reference to the fact that the establishment uses chicken meat for the burgers that it makes and serves. Still not sure about the healthy part (lesser evil would be more apt I guess?), but my friend and I were in desperate need of an afternoon weekend at that time so we ultimately didn't care for semantics. I decided to get the HID Bacon Melt (mozzarella, bacon, and mayo) after scanning through the menu. So much for me making myself feel better for eating a relatively "healthier" burger. Our food came out, and I must say, for the price of 125 pesos (most of the burgers on the menu are within this price range), it wasn't bad at all. Despite not being made of the usual juicy beef, the patty was interestingly tasty enough. The bacon, was well, bacon (which is always awesome). The restaurant dining space, with its very laid back vibe, was also perfect for our afternoon unwind. Overall, I'd have to say that the main strength of this place is the food's value for money. read more
