I gave it a 4, but I really think this place deserves 3.5 When I had aunty's when it first opened I thought it was the best thing ever. The fusion was my first dish and it was perfect. Right amount of spice and flavour. However, after they renovated I felt the flavour went down. The fusion is now a hit or miss, however the briyani is still good and can last two meals. I have been coming here for a while. My absolute favorite is the Friday special of Nihari. Used to be a large bowl of thick "SPICY" stew with two large pieces of tender fall apart beef, served with biryani rice on the side. They have changed it to a plate with the rice and stew together. I do prefer the bowl as it was a larger serving and you can mix how you want. But I will still go and order it, as it is my favorite. price $8.99. I have also had the butter chicken, karhai chicken, and MSD Rolls. All good. Highly recomended! read more

When it first opened in University Plaza I would have given Aunty's 5 stars. The staff was friendly, they had speedy service, the food was flavourful and they gave large portions. Everything a customer could ask for. I took one star off because after the renovation they increased the price by a dollar or two and decreased the portions. But recently, I found portions has increased back a little, still not like what it first opened but closer to what it used to be. I usually get fusion, butter chicken and fish curry. It's pretty run of the mill desi food - comes in big portions and the prices are reasonable. The staff is nice as well. It's not quite spicy enough and it's not really authentic flavouring but it's good food on a budget. I used to really like Aunty's a lot (Came here biweekly last year); always went for the butter chicken or chicken on the rocks but lately it has been stinging out on me. They recently added a 2 for $11.99 chicken on the rocks deal that was initially well worth the price because they top off the rice with a good layer of chicken. But in my past two visits over the past two weeks, their chicken to rice ratio has plummeted. I ordered the usual 2 for $11.99 chicken on the rocks today and when I opened my box I could barely see any chicken. I layered the chicken on one side to see how much they actually gave me and it ended up covering 1/4 the box... Where did the 3/4 of the chicken I used to get go? At this point I would hardly call it a 'deal' any more. At least last week I got 1/2 the box covered in chicken. Until they fix their ratios I don't think I'll be ordering it again. Really Bad chicken biriyani. Just a mix of rice and lots of cheap oil with 2 pieces of meat. Threw away most of it. Will never buy biriyani here again. Get a chef if you want to run this business yo. Maybe there's no better choice here. I'm new to town but not new to biriyani. read more

Great portions at a very reasonable price. I had the Chicken Biryani with a side of Chicken Karahi and had to take most of it home due to the amount of food. The Biryani was decent, but I felt it tried to make up for a lack of flavour with spiciness; I still think Ali Tandoori Junction has the best Biryani in town. However, the Karahi was delicious, having a pleasant combination of sweet and spicy, with lots of flavour. Good food and good service means I'll be back for more! read more

Its a nice little place at the university plaza. The venue is not great but the portion sizes and price makes up for it. The employees are friendly and will get you a meal the way you like it. I literally cannot count how many times I've been here. The portions are huuge, so you get what you pay for. The butter chicken is the best item, and their daily specials are pretty good too. If you ask any student in the University Plaza, they are most likely going to know Aunty's Kitchen. It serves great fusion Indian food with big portions. There's not much of an ambience or seating area, but I don't mind as I usually like to bring it home and eat such comfort food at the comfort of my own home. Most things are over $10 but I usually can't finish it in one sitting so the price is very fair. I'm not too big of a fun of their fries but when it is covered in rich butter chicken sauce, who can resist? I love their raita that comes with their biryani rices too. read more

These guys have really stepped up their game since the recent renovation. The place seems cleaner and my previous complaints about speed of service have been addressed now that the kitchen and serving counter are not separated by a wall anymore. There also seems to be a lot more staff. The menu is more or less the same which isn't a bad thing. I come here when I get bored of the Chinese food in the plaza. EDIT: My only complaint is almost a non-complaint. Their portion sizes are waaaay too big. The reason why I never order their dinner style meals is because I can never finish them. If they reduced the price to less than $10 and reduced the portion size, I would totally order butter chicken a lot more often. read more

The food is good but what's better is their customer service. Especially when the owner is manning the kitchen. The quality of the food being sent out is kept high. The other day I came in with my dad and ordered some naans. When I was about to pick them up, the owner threw away the burnt ones ( wasn't even that burnt ) and told them to replace with better ones. Food is still tasty despite the fact that it's not authentic Indian cuisine. You get a solid meal for the amount you pay. My favourite item to get is the Butter Chicken Dinner. However, theres not many vegetarian options if you care about that, and one might get diarrhea from time to time. read more

1.5/5 the later in the night you decide to go, the more the quality of food drops their "daily special" usually is still both pricey and tastes pretty bad the fries they serve are soft and they don't have ketchup or anything so you have to rely on the sauce they provide. i've had multiple occasions where they cheaped out on giving the sauce, it was literally a tablespoon of sauce in the entire takeout container. their butter chicken was decent but you could tell it wasn't authentic stuff. their redeeming factor is that the portions given out are quite large, but they better be large for how expensive the food is (over $10) read more

Worst restaurant in the history of Pakistani cuisine, these folks do NOT know a thing about building customer relations. Biggest rattling factor for me is their ability to maintain authenticity, I do NOT want fries with my karahi nor do I want a caesar salad with my barayani. Also, raising prices every month for no apparent reason is just ridiculous, I used to enjoy their food but not so much anymore. The customer service was sub-par the few times I have ate here. Whilst the employee was taking my order he was also talking on his blue-tooth headset and made me repeat my order multiple times, which I find unacceptable. Also as other reviews have mentioned the speed is very slow even when the restaurant is not busy. If you order anything they to specially make, that is NOT the pre-made rice, and curry etc. you can expect to wait 15-30 minutes. The food is decent overall, but the customer service really detracts from what could be a stellar fast food restaurant. read more

This place fully takes advantage of the fact that there are no other good desi restaurants nearby. The food is average and I love how they've taken New York Fries' Butter Chicken Poutine dish. The food has progressively improved to a certain degree but it's still fairly mediocre. I guess for the prices we can't expect much more. The taste of most of the dishes reminds me of Shan and National's recipes. But I suppose we all like to save time and use spices that are all just nicely packaged for us.
